Commentary on YouTube Videos (Dream) (the YouTuber, I'm not talking about sleep)

I'm literally shaking right now because I just watched the 3 hunters vs speed runner rematch, and it's 1:43am, so why not create this chapter to remember to talk about this.

It's literally amazing, and commentary on it from me would be maybe decently entertaining??

I swear, I keep saying "oh my goodness" like Grian said it in Ely's remix of Mumbo AFK—

Ok, yes, it's 12:31pm now, and now I shall do the commentary.

I'm mostly going to kind of interpret the actions Dream, Bad, George, and Sapnap do, probably.

Let's go—

(Major spoilers for the episode up ahead, and a bit of me referencing what happened in other videos.)

Edit: So Dream posted an analysis of his own. I won't add to what I did before, so go watch that video if you're curious of his actual thought process.

Also, congrats on 3 million, Dream (who will probably never see this)! :D

0:25
Saying that he was setting stuff up for the video was smart and gave him a needed head start. The hunters (I think) weren't paying attention to him and were possibly looking at something else, and if they noticed earlier, Dream would have died very early on.

1:16
George and Sapnap are staying close together and chasing while Bad is crafting things, allowing the hunters to get stuff while Dream can't slow down to do stuff. Dream can't fight them both without tricks, as shown in earlier videos, either.

1:34
Towering up was a good choice on Dream's part, as there was both a tree and water. The tree would give him wood and some time to do stuff, and the water would let him get down easily. Leaves also sometimes drop apples, although Dream didn't get any.

2:22
The hunters mining the tree might have helped Dream if he stayed on it, actually, but apples weren't dropping, and it was a risk. Dream used them chopping it to get away though, which is definitely better than that idea. If he broke a couple more leaf blocks at some point, he might have been able to regen a bit though.

2:56
Getting to the trees was definitely a good choice. Dream is probably the best out of the 4 at tree parkour, and he can use his lead to trip the hunters up.
"Oh no, that was smart, that was really smart." - Sapnap

3:10
Dream had 3 wood blocks, if he placed one under him as he fell or landed one block forward, he would have had an extra half heart, which (I think) would have allowed him to take an extra punch. I don't think it made too much difference because he had time to eat a raw pork chop.

3:42
The hunters are definitely a lot more coordinated this time, with Bad as the "leader" - he makes a good one too. of the hunters are talking to each other as well, letting all of them know Dream's whereabouts. They are usually staying together at least partially too.
"You guys are doing so much better than last time!" - Dream
"Yeah, cause we talked about it, and we planned!" - Bad

4:59
Although Dream is kind of low, he turns around to fight Bad, although Bad is probably on higher health. Because he seems confident, Bad gets scared and runs, allowing Dream to get space between them.

5:48
Dream actually messed up on the block placement, but he closed the entry onto the tree off so George couldn't get on the tree as quickly.

6:22
By breaking some of the lilypads, Dream is slowing the hunters down. Bad also gets the idea of picking up lilypads, and it could have worked well on water if they actually did so, because lilypads float on the water.

7:31
Dream did a 5 block jump or something across the ravine and blocked where George was jumping so he'd fall down into the ravine, slowing him down and injuring majorly.
"I have no wood, I can't even get out." - George
"I'm so lucky I survived, I have one heart down here." - George

8:00
Launching the creepers at Sapnap obviously hurt him, but Dream was also taken to half a heart. It would make Sapnap more unsure of whether to chase Dream too.

8:11
Like Dream did with Bad, he did a 180 and chased Sapnap. Bad was already telling Sapnap to stay together, and Dream encouraged it. Sapnap died to a skeleton while running away, which proves that the creepers Dream launched at Sapnap at 8:00 were worth the damage he took.

9:14
Dream runs towards George with full health and some food, and George appears to be smelting something that is either iron or food. (What else would he be smelting?) Dream gets the first three hits on George with a stone sword, dealing 7.5 hearts of damage, so George has 2.5 hearts or less before regen. George is low and runs away, causing Dream to chase him for probably around 2-7 minutes. (I may be wrong.) Dream kills George, gathering his loot and going back to where George was smelting and taking the food.

9:55
Can we just appreciate how Dream said it worked well. Amazing grammar, thank you.
"Plan A worked pretty dang well." - Dream

12:11
Bad tells everyone that Dream is there, which alerts Dream to their presence, causing him to check and dig up a bit, shifting. The hunters then got confused about where Dream was. If Bad hadn't told them and messaged them instead, they could have killed Dream using the element of surprise and the fact that Dream wouldn't have been that cautious and might not have decided to shift, letting them know that he is underground sooner.

17:05
With Bad's boat destroyed, Bad wouldn't be able to circle him from the top of the water and put maneuver Dream. Dream also might have been trying to get Bad's boat, but failed, as the item dropped on the opposite side of him.

17:52
Fighting in partially 2 block deep lakes was good for the hunters, as Dream wouldn't be able to do the block placements below him. George and Bad were also in a boat together, allowing both of them to be fast, although George hopped out because he couldn't hit Dream.

19:00
Because Dream towered up, he was able to hit George and Sapnap off, dealing them damage. He was able to kill George by mlg watering down because of the damage too.

19:54
George said that he didn't have blocks during when Dream towered up, meaning he wouldn't be able to follow Dream up the mountain efficiently. Sapnap, who had the blocks to do so was launched off the mountain with knockback too, causing his death.

21:49
Dream used what he learned during when he was speed running to make a portal in around 16 seconds, and to that I say "what a manic." There wasn't room to let Bad knock him out as he was going through into the nether, and the hunters had to go around.

22:51
Seeing that it was a dead end, Dream jumped, placed a dirt, and mined into the wall. He then turned and mined the dirt so it would be harder for the hunters to follow him, letting him out of their sight. Sapnap fell into the lava because of this.

25:10
Bad was on point with his strategy, although I probably would have done it a bit differently. Dream would have to go back to the portal eventually, and he'd have to go to a fortress. I think Bad chose the fortress so Dream would be surrounded by enemies, so they could destroy the spawners, so they could see what Dream's up to, or so they could get potions.

26:51
Using the sand Dream collected at 11:53, the cauldron he crafted at 15:43, and the magma cream he got from the magma cube at 25:50, and the blaze rods he just collected, Dream made fire resistance potions. It's useful because they're in the nether, which is lava land. Dream could also pull what he did in another video and jump into the lava.

27:27
Dream flees towards the side with the lava, maybe because he has the fire resistance potions he just brewed. He then sees an opening to the fortress and went that way, possibly because he realized that the potions weren't in his hot bar. He then continues to follow the most confusing paths he could see around the nether fortress.

28:41
Dream now has 4 hearts, and his best option at survival is probably to use the potions. He jumped in mid air and drank the potion, finishing it on 2 hearts. Bad didn't stop and landed in the lava, killing himself accidentally while Dream was able to escape through the bottom of the nether, leaving the hunters confused.

34:40
There was a mountain further up ahead, so Dream wouldn't be able to go forward for much longer, so he drank the fire resistance. The strength potion particles are a similar color to the fire resistance potions, and the hunters panicked because they remembered how strong it was. Dream has said that he didn't have enough time to make more potions and he got the achievement a few seconds before the hunters saw him at the fortress, but it was a first instinct for the them.
"Literally, right when you got there I had finished brewing them, but I was gonna brew other stuff, but I left the...I left, I left my...oh my god..." - Dream, 30:17
George separated from Bad and Sapnap, letting Dream chase him. George is also red-green colorblind, so he would have been able to recognize the orange if he wasn't turned around. (I think this is how being colorblind works, I may be wrong.)

41:28
Dream was walking to find another end portal, as there are 128 strongholds in a Java world. They're in rings, with a couple in each ring, so if Dream went far enough away, he'd get to another. The eye going a different way meant that he was in the distance of another. I was actually thinking about finding a second one in a speedrunner vs hunger earlier yesterday because I was looking up the most efficient way to find a stronghold.

46:21
Sapnap possibly saved the dragon by taking the shot instead of letting it shoot, because the arrow would have probably killed it.

46:31
If Dream hadn't taken the shot, he would have definitely lost. Like half a second after the dragon started dying, Dream died.

Who won?
Dream says "if I beat the ender dragon, I win" in the intro, so he wins. He and George also had this problem and decided that you only have to kill the dragon to win, which further backs this up.

DREAM WINS!
