JUST SMALL THINGS ABOUT ENGLISH

Minor things that happen far too often that need to be corrected. I'm also not trying to correct anyone directly, this is just a guide for things.

"Anyways" is not a word, but "anyway" is.

In a sentence, it's "my friend and I", not "me and my friend".

"Ain't" isn't a proper word.

"Irregardless" isn't an actual word. Please use "regardless" instead.

Please don't mix up "i.e." and "e.g." I know that you may see "i.e." when indicating an example, but it actually means "that is" because it is the abbreviated form of "id est" (which is Latin for "that is"). Literal translation aside, it's usage in English is "in other words", so you use it when you want to further explain something. As for "e.g." it's the abbreviated form of "exempli gratia", which means "for example". Just use "e.g." when you want to give a few examples.

There's more, but I'll just go ahead and make a book about all this.
grammar_101 , please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.
