Something to mess with your view of Zeus
(I'm assuming she met Luke after she turned 11. She ran away when she was 10 and got to CHB at 12)
TW: Attempted Suicide
A 11 year old girl stood at the top of a building, alone. Today was her birthday. And also, if everything goes right, her deathday.
She had nothing to lose. Her brother, her most important anchor, was gone.
Her electric blue eyes were brimming with unshed tears. She took one more step, closing the distance between her and the ledge.
She looked down, the warm tears flowing freely down her face now. The road was empty, for it was night-time. The moon was shining dully, as if mourning the death of the child already, knowing there was nothing it could do. The wind blew against her face, but it was not cold, as one would expect it to be. No, it was as if the wind was encouraging the child to go back.
Her jet-black hair fluttering in the air. It was long, and greasy, showing that she hadn't showered for a long time. It used to be short, but ever since she ran away, she didn't have the opportunity to cut it again. Plus, it keeps her warm.
Her overall appearance was unkempt, with ripped jeans and a ruined black leather jacket. Her sneakers were dirty, and her clothing was coated in mud.
She put the backpack down. There was no need for it. She mentally prepared herself for the welcoming arms of death. Maybe she'll be able to see her brother, and tell him how sorry she was for leaving him with their crazy mom. She'll tell him how much she loved him, how she was never going to let him go again. How she'll be the best big sister ever.
The thought made her smile. Seeing her brother again. Apologizing. Spending the rest of eternity with him. Doesn't sound so bad. They don't need anyone else. Not their mom, not their dad, no one.
Closing her eyes, she took another step and fell.
Down, down, down. She could feel the wind flowing through her hair. She was weightless, like a feather. So calm, so peaceful.
But then she's not. She's not falling anymore. The feeling of tranquillity was gone.
She opened her eyes and looked around. She was floating. Her eyes widened in amazement.
It's not your time yet, child. Not today.
She felt something kissing her forehead, but there was no one.
The wind gently set her down. Her feet touched the ground, her mouth agape, wondering what just happened. Her backpack dropped to the ground beside her.
Then, the presence was gone, and the child fainted on the sidewalk.
Astronomers wondered what caused the moon to suddenly shine so bright.

"Wake up!"
The girl opened her eyes, squinting. A pair of bright blue eyes stared back at her. It belonged to a blonde boy, about 13 years old.
"You are different." He stated. And indeed, she felt different. She felt as if she forgot something important, and also, she had a newfound fear of heights. Wonder where that came from?
"I'm Luke, Luke Castellan. And you are?"
"Thalia. Thalia Grace."
