A Percabeth story (I might change the name later) 1
Yeah, Arbee isn't here. Yet. But Andrew is. I decided that since this is the day that I finally got out of quarantine, I'll upload two chapters! Because I'm bored and I got inspiration and most importantly, why not? This is just an introduction. I'm thinking of making a short book? Even though I already have an ongoing one. But it's a weekend so I'll try to finish this whole book in two days. Yes I'm stupid, trying to do that. Would you read it if I made the book?

She was tired. Tired of keeping a fake smile on her face all day. Tired of being first every time. Tired of being the best. Tired of having clothing without creases. Tired of- yeah, you get it. In short, Annabeth Chase was tired of being perfect.
Ever since she could remember, Annabeth had always been perfect. Raised by her mum, Athena, she was required to be no less than the best. She was molded into the ideal daughter of a Chase to uphold their family honor.
Many people envy her. They think she has the perfect family, the perfect life. Oh how wrong they are.

Annabeth's POV:
I was sleeping, and having a beautiful dream too, when a shrill noises abruptly woke me up. SLAM. My hand instinctively hit the object of offence. The alarm clock.
"Annabeth," I heard the ever so cold voice of my mother. "what was that?"
I swore softly. "Nothing, mother." I replied.
"Now there, no need to shout." Shout? That can barely be classified as shouting. My mother appeared at my door. "And you shouldn't lie to me." I felt her frosty gaze on me. She then turned to the alarm clock.
"The second one this week."She shook her head. "I am disappointed in you, Annabeth.
You always are, I thought bitterly, but of course I didn't voice that thought out loud. "It was an accident-"
"I don't want to hear the rest of it." My mother interrupted. "I haven't asked you to speak, have I?"
"Sorry mother." I lowered my head.
I heard the click of her heels fade away. "And don't forget your pills, Annabeth!" She called back.
The pills. I hated it. I have ADHD and a child of the Chase family shouldn't have learning disorders, should they? So they kept it a secret, making me take this horrible medicine. They make me feel uncomfortable and sick. But I had to do it, or else I'll "tarnish the Chase's family's reputation", as my mother said.
I slowly got up, and looked into the mirror. I had curly honey-blonde hair, and gray eyes, just like my mother, although her's is icy and unforgiving while mine is stormy and calculating. Underneath my eyes were bags, because I was up studying yesterday to get a perfect result for today's test.
I went to my closet, to pick out my outfit for the day. The closet was full of dresses, and I absolutely despised them. I chose a light grey one, akin to the colour of my eyes, and laid it on the bed.
I got into the shower, letting the cold water run over my body. I always feel more relaxed when near or in a body of water. I hummed a little tune while washing.
"Annabeth! Hurry up or you'll be late!" I heard my mother's icy voice. I didn't listen. "Annabeth, you should know that it is rude to ignore someone!" Oh, so now you want me to speak.
"Of course, Mother." I paid special attention to the volume of my voice.
I dried my hair and walked out of the shower with a towel wrapped around me. I changed into the dress and prepared to put on my makeup.
I hated make-up. It was unnatural, and irritated my skin. But I had to use it to hide the bags under my eyes, and any imperfection on my skin.
I put the finishing touches on my face. All good. I practiced smiling at the mirror, but it looked more like a grimace. I tried again. This time, when I looked into a mirror, I saw a pretty girl. A perfect one, but it's not me.
I sighed and picked up my school bag. I walked out of my room and into the kitchen.
"Good morning mother." I greeted her.
"Good morning." She replied. "Pancakes are on the table already, and you're going to be late." She turned back to whatever she was doing.
I walked to the table and placed my bag on it.
"How many times do I have to tell you, put your bag on the floor!" My mother berated me, annoyed. Although she still didn't feel the need to turn around.
"Sorry." I put my bag on the floor, and proceeded to devour my food.
"You never learn, do you." I looked up and found my mother staring at me. "Eat slower, you look undignified."
By the time she had finished, I had already consumed my food. She glared at me. "Annabe-"
"Hey sweetie, heading to school?" She was interrupted by my dad. I breathed a sigh of relief. I really wasn't in the mood for a lecture today.
I nodded. "Yes."
My dad isn't around that much. He has a job that requires him to go to a lot of different places. But when he's home he is really nice.
I shouldered my bag and headed to the road. "Bye Annie!" I turned back. "Bye dad!" Behind him, I saw my mother staring at me, giving me a look as if to say that this isn't finished.
