Movie Night

Real old story piece I dug up out of boredom an man do I cringe at the memory of makin it. At least I think I've grown a bit with my conversations and settings looking back at oldies like this. Still find it cute sooo...

Anastasia put her head on the back of her hand and sighed quietly, the meeting was dragging on too slowly as one of her soldiers rambled nervously about their death rates. A shiver ran down her back as she sensed icey eyes staring at her, there was a tap on the middle of her spine, one finger slowly ran down each vertebrae causing her to shoot up tall and still. The cold aura faded as the pair of eyes were off of her, stalking someone else. She looked to her left and surprisingly found herself staring at Galiea who never attended meetings with her. His flame red eyes stalked the shadows yet never moved, he looked at Anastasia and smiled his childlike smile. Anastasia leaned back in her chair, her head down so her pale blonde hair blocked anyone's vision of her.
“What the hell vas that for?”
Galilea placed his hands on the rich brown wood, meeting table while ruffling his black, red tipped hair, “He doesn’t approve of bad posture. All I did was help you there's no need to snap.”
She shivered and growled in annoyance as she couldn’t get rid of the feeling of Galiea’s fingers on her back, “What did you do to me?”
“A simple trick used on kids, you scare them into sitting straight by creeping your hand up their spine without them knowing. I've never seen a kid sit as straight as a stick like you did.”
“You know quite a bit for not having a child.”
“I helped my brother raise his till the war got in my way, I didn’t want to end up like my crazy aunt that raised BayaDane and me so I helped as must as I could.”
Anastasia raised her eyebrows in surprise. She tilted her head up again when Galiea quickly sat back up, looking at the table in embarrassment as he was silently scawled by those unknown eyes. The rest of the meeting went on in silence while the rest rambled off their bad reports to their higher ups, Anastasia was rather grateful for the time to think, almost grateful... Despite all of her might she couldn't keep her thoughts from wandering to Galiea. It annoyed her how she wasn’t just worrying about his late work or insane side coming out in a random yet traceable pattern, she was thinking about how he was able to deal with all of his suffering, especially without completely breaking down. She began to feel terrible about how she treated him for the last years, she really want to slap herself now instead of just mentally for such idiotic thoughts.
“Uh Anastasia? Anastasia? Do you need to leave? You don't look too good there…”

Anastasia put her hands on her lap standing even taller not realising she had spaced out in an odd positions. “Hmm?“
Galiea put a hand on her shoulder as he stood up, halfly bowing he place a fist over his heart, “I don't believe Mrs. McKlatin is well enough to continue through this meeting. I’m certain it wouldn’t be noticeable if we left?”
Everyone's eyes went back to looking at the soldier giving his speech making Galiea look at Anastasia waiting for her to lead the way out.Too confused and dazed Galiea had to dragged her out by the arm, he closed the door quietly and leaned her back against the wall, his hands still grabbed her arms incase she was really not feeling well. “Are you ok? What the hell happened back there?”
Anastasia shoved him away expecting to feel hate or rage for how close he got to her, Galiea appeared to feel the same way as he braced himself for a punch to the face. They both stood there with their arms pressed closer to their chest for a moment, puzzled by Anastasia not hitting Galiea.
Anastasia stood still again, she put a long length of her hair behind her ear staring at the ground, “I don’t know what happened to me, I wasn't paying attention…”
Galiea stared wide eyed, she couldn’t help but to stare at his red eyes, his posture gave him such a young, kiddish adult look. “You almost got yourself killed back there, did you really not hear his question?”
Anastasia put her hands on her hips causing Galiea to quickly cover her mouth, she made muffled growls of anger before biting his hand, which didn’t have the effect she wanted. “If you start yelling then we’ll have to go back to the meeting, we were already getting on his bad side with our reports. Who knows what’ll happen if we go back in there.”
Anastasia sighed and nodded her head. He released his grasp on her hand and started to head down the hall, leaving Anastasia stand there with her jaw dropped at his “rude” behavior, “H-hey what are you doing?!”
Galiea turned on his heel, his hands were in his pockets, his flaming eyes expressing childlike confusion. “Heading home. Why?...”
“So jou’re just going to leave me here?!”
“You have a home of your own don’t you? You’re the only one that knows where it is.” “Ugh, jou are such a pain in the ass.”
“How?! First I piss you off just by talking, then by standing three feet away from you, and now by leaving you the fuck alone. What does it take to please you woman?”
Anastasia’s face flushed a faint pink, she was glad he was too far to see her, that is until he started to walk back towards her. She put her head down for her hair to hide her face, puzzling Galiea as he placed his hands on his hips waiting. “I… I feel bad for how horribly I've been treating jou... I want to make it up to you.”
He stood taller a little uncomfortable, “Uh, o-ok… What do you suggest?”
Anastasia looked up at Galiea, her hands twisting around each other, “...How bout a movie.” he took a step back feeling uncomfortable by her stare, it was soft and gentle, completely unlike her, she didn’t seem to understand his discomfort as she continued, “A movie night…? At jour house?”

Anastasia’s heart oddly fluttered at the suggestion. She didn’t even have this planned beforehand, it was completely different then. She grew worried at Galiea’s wide, fear shocked eyes, she wasn’t acting like herself which was making Galiea scared, he didn’t want to show her his house as much as he thought he would've loved it, but it’s completely disrespectful to turn down her offer.

“Movie night…?” He echoed hollowly back at her, she bit her lip as she nodded slowly,  “I-if that’s what you w-want. You know where I live so… Just, come over when you want to.” with that he turned on his heel and walked away again, his face flushing deep reds while the rest of him paled.
Anastasia sighed and smacked herself in the face, What am I doing… This is just like when I met that Paris loving hus-... oh god no... “I just have to fall for every man with family problems…” She said to herself while she walked the opposite way with her head hung in embarrassment.

Galiea stood in front of his house for a little, just staring at the lifeless thing as if it was a pitiful creature. It was a simple log house, fairly large looking but nothing but cozy and extremely roomy for a single man. Its rose brown wood gave it an inviting aura, along with its rich green grass and extensive Japanese styled garden covering the entire yard to the left of the driveway, it even with a little hand made river that constantly feeds the plants, there’s even a small stunted cherry tree living on a tiny island in the middle of it, with a few rose trees of different colors here and there. The right yard held snow white pebbles lacing in intricate designs, all of which looked as if they sprouted from a black willow tree, its silver leaves shimmered a faint pink mist in the sun's light, its trunk hummed hollowly, signing a joyful tune. On the trunk stood knife carvings, the pale bronze inside of the tree held great contrast to the black, rough exterior, near the bottom were patterns and little sketches from when BayaDane and Galiea were kids. Galiea smiled softly at the memory of a little Shadow trying to tell their stories from these carvings, it was adorable watching her walk around the trunk with wonder lit eyes before growing bored and climbing the tree, then growing bored of that and watching the carvings again. He looked above the child carvings to the hearts decorated with many different designs to resemble marriage shields, blessings or promises to keep a healthy marriage, those who were married underneath the luck charm were carved bellow it. There wasn’t many only thirteen that was known, but each ancestor had lived as long as their bodies would let them, which was growing to be more and more like an average human's lifespan with each addition, Shadow & Galaxea, Twilight & Kara, Twilight & Kara & Gale, Honzi & Falin, Fonti & Lail Kail, even BayaDane & Selon. He sighed worriedly at BayaDane’s shield not sure how he was able to withstand that woman. He looked down at the ground and readjusted a few pebbles that were pushed out of their spot from the wind. For a man stuck in a war he sure did have a lot of time off. The house’s large windows gave view to pitch black voids of a kitchen and dining room that weren’t used as much as they were intended to be, Galiea walked up the curving walkway to the small patio decorated with black and red candles that were lit every holiday, their wax melted in intricate designs that was carved into beautiful drawings of animals, winds, or spirits through the swirls of black on reds. He opened the frost stained glass door and flicked on the dining room lights, a long, dark brown wood, dining table stood on top of a bear skin rug complementing the light birch floor emerged from the darkness, its gloss protecting the wood was rubbing off from years of use ad was starting to need to be reapplied. He kneeled down to untie his boots only to look up at the stairs at the sound of claws patterning frantically across the floor. A peach brown poodle slammed into the wall chest first and staggered backwards looking like nothing happened, his large doey amber eyes were wide with a puppy’s innocents, his long poofy, curled tail wagged excitedly, banging against the wall, his paws stood away from each other broadly giving him a funny Jersey boy look. Galiea smiled at his dog which caused him to leap down the stairs and prance towards his master, placing his paws on Galiea’s chest he licked his face messily and whined squeakily while gurgling an even odder noise each time his tongue stuck out. Galiea fell to the floor laughing at the dog’s ticklish tongue, he rubbed his sides roughly exciting his puppy more causing him to pounce his front paws on Galiea’s chest.
“Alright! Alright Nickolai! Get down goofball!”
Nikolai got off of Galiea’s chest but half crawled closer to his face still attacking him with licks and gurgling whines. Galiea stood up again, pulling his uniform shirt down he walked to the kitchen with Nikolai’s paws stepping on his ankles while he prances behind. He turned on the lights, two bar lights one opposite sides of the kitchen lit the area nicely, the tan glass with black crack like lines gave the kitchen a nice comfy hue of calming light. Nickolai hopped on his hind legs, his front paws batting at the air, Galiea smiled and opened the silver fridge, pulling out a cold, cooked steak. He placed the plastic wrapped plate by Nikolai’s painted water bowl. Unwrapping the plastic Nikolai sunk his fangs into the meat face planting against it while chewing like he hasn’t ate all day. Galiea chuckled rubbing his head roughly then standing up and walking out of the kitchen. He walked down stairs and laid down on a light brown couch, dark brown curtains dulled the sun’s light making the light brownish orange walls give off a sleepy sensation, Nikolai pranced down the stairs, his blue, candy striped, bow tie collar jingling as he sat down on the white rug with long, curving, brown flowers, near Galiea’s face. He smiled and spread his arms out signaling Nikolai to leap up on his stomach and lay across him, he placed his head on his chest waiting as his head was being rubbed till Galiea fell asleep. He nuzzled his arms over his shoulders and huffed placing his head on his chest again closing his eyes.
The sun set and the moon was just starting to rise from its sleep, the stars lit the sky happily. There was a knock on the door but it went unheard from both Nikolai and Galiea who were still sleeping soundly. The knock grew louder then stopped again to be answered. The door opened slowly as Anastasia slowly poked her head around it, searching for Galiea, she closed the door behind her and took off her black flats. Dusting off her black dress that hugged her hourglass figure lightly, she spoke in a small voice not really nice sounding against her gruff accent,  “Hello?” It was surprising how her voice echoed lightly in the house.
She Looked up at the pale carpeted stairs seeing no lights on in the room facing the stairs, the white door was open widely revealing a fuzzy dog bed, that looked like it was made with wolf fur, being engulfed in shadows, it laid against the spiral decorated, wooden bed frame of a large queen sized bed being suffocated with rich red and gold plush pillows and thick blankets. She looked in the kitchen, rather impressed at how neat and clean it was, especially for a man who never had any ability to organize his own paperwork. Walking closer to the downstairs she walked down the small hall that encased the stairs for a short distance and shook her head at the site.
Nikolai was laying underneath Galiea’s arms laying on his side along with his master, his leg kicking at an itchy spot on his ribs. Galiea’s face was covered by Nikolai’s poofy head but it was clear he was sound asleep, he was even still in most of his uniform. He still wore his gold officer's pants but was wearing a black very tight shirt that looked more casual than meeting attire, he at least tried to be dressy. Anastasia gently unwrapped Galiea’s arms from Nikolai only for him to pounce on her, knocking her to the floor. His screeching, yelping bark made Anastasia clamp his jaw shut and glare at him, he understood immediately and sat down beside her whacking his tail on the ground slowly. Anastasia stood up and looked at Galiea, his back was facing her now with his hands wrapped around his pillow sleeping less soundly, but still, sleeping.
She shook his shoulder lightly, “Galiea?”
He didn’t move but his nose twitched at his name. She shook his shoulder with a little more force, “Galiea.” Still nothing, his nose twitching again. Anastasia sighed and shook his shoulder stronger and she Sophie in her mean mother’s voice, ”Vake up, Galiea...”
His body jolted as he hugged his pillow tighter and glared at her at the corner of his eyes like she was an enemy. He soon sighed softly and relaxed, rubbing his face with his hands, “Goddammit Anastasia…”
She covered her mouth with her hand to keep from laughing, “Aww! Jou looked so cute when jou voke up. Did jou think I vould steal jour little pillow?”
He sat up and took the small couch pillow into his hands, looking at it before putting it back on the couch neatly, “No, just bodily reaction I guess...I don't have a wife or family as you can tell…”
“Jou’re vife vould have killed you if jou had one.” They both chuckled.
Galiea stood up and motioned his arm to the couch, Anastasia sat down where he was before and looked at him questioningly as she straightened her dresses skirt. He smiled softly and walked up stairs and into the kitchen, pulling ingredients out to cook.
“You said you wanted to watch a movie right? I have a few, they're in the cabinet the TV is on top of.” He yelled gently to her as he brought out frozen perogies, that he made the night before, from the freezer.
Anastasia stood up,  walking towards the large flat screen TV she opened the old fashioned wire and wood cabinet it stood on, on the bottom shelf were metal, collector cased movies lined like books. They took up the whole bottom cabinet and even needed two rows with ample room in between them. She looked at the collection surprised and gently grabbed one of the silver cases, looking at the front of it was the movie’s name hand painted in gold. Anastasia giggled, knowing by the name it was a romance, she put it back and left her finger on it to keep it marked, incase there was no better one. Pulling out another one randomly she smiled and bit her lip, “I never thought of jou as being a romantic, Galiea.”
He blushed faintly as he put the perogies on plates with some sour cream in the middle of them. Bringing them down stairs he smiled awkwardly at Anastasia while placing the plates down on the glass coffee table.
“I don't really like movies without a little drama in them, adds a realistic factor to me…”
She hands him the movies and looks at the plates curiously. Sitting back down on the couch she looks up at Galiea who was putting the movie in the DVD player. He stood up straight and turned back around to sit on the couch, Anastasia quickly looked down at her plate, using her hair to hide her blush.
He grabs his plate and looks at her worried, “Are you okay Ana?”
Her head shoots back up as she glares at him with her blue and gray eyes, “Vhat?..”
Galiea pales slightly, finally glad to have her back but still terrified since she is in his house, an easy place to get trapped in, “I said, are you okay?...”
“I’m fine but vhat did jou call me?”
“Ana?”
“Vhy? Of all the names you give me, jou chose to make me sound like a pet?”
He blushes and looks at the wall closest to him, “I didn’t think of it that way… I just didn't want to say your whole first name.”
“Oh…” She blushes and looks down at her plate, she looks back up at him, cocking her head curiously, “Vhat are these Gali?”
He blushes more deeply, “Now you gave me a pet name?...”
“It vas pay back.”
“Right… Anyways, have you never had theses?”
She shakes her head, “I vouldnt have asked if i did, idiot.”
“They’re meat stuffed perogies with sour cream…” he picks one off his plate and dips it in the sour cream before taking a small bite, “A traditional Polish dinner that can be much more than that.”
“Vhat do you mean?”
“It could be a dessert if you want it to be. It doesn't have to be made as a dinner.”
She looks at the plate and slowly picks it up, setting it on her lap looking at the coffee table confused. “Is there a fork anywhere?”
“My family tends to just eat them, there's always been fights around everyone about how to eat perogies.”
Anastasia picks up one of the perogies and bites into it, she smiles and blushes faintly as she starts to eat. Keeping silent they both eat their dinner as the commercials played before the movie. Galiea smiled softly to himself, more than happy about her reaction to his cooking, he chuckled silently as it reminded him of the first time Shadow ate the same food when she was younger. His heart sank as he put his cleaned plate back on the coffee table, looking up at the TV the first scene already showed a father leaving his daughter with her aunt as he walks away. The little girl, no more than four, just holding tightly to her lion stuffed animal as she watches her father leave and not know why, while her aunt tries to hide her tears behind a protective smile. The scene shattered him as he watched the movie with an emotionless face, the little girl, whose name was never spoken in the silent movie slowly formed into Shadow, watching the world around her with untouchable, childlike wonder. The scenes turning into his memories and joy with her in his life, a life that felt so shortly lived. Anastasia rubbed her eyes to keep tears from falling down, the first scene already made her heart melt, although she couldn't understand Polish she knew what they were saying. It brought her memories as well, more joyous ones. Leaving Techno with his father when she went to work while he worked at home as a blacksmith, for most of his time working he spent working on his son’s new arm. Taking him three years to make and perfect. His reaction to his father's handy that day was almost too cherishable, the way his electric blue eyes lit with childish wonder but eirreness at the metal, thin arm that never was used or had life in it. His father's honey brown eyes already melted to a sweet honeyed gold, he knew how Techno was going to react before she could feel it. She frowned as the memory faded back to the movie, that was one of her last ones of her husband before she was forced into the imperial army
