I will be showing how to cliché certain genres, today will be my favourite genre fantasy.

Fantasy

I love fantasy but recently all are either cliché or just a poorer version of a better book. So I've been racking my brains and have come up with same ideas/prompts that I hope you use.

• Instead of set in medieval times set it caveman, now or way into the future.

It'd be nice to read about different eras for once.

• Come up with a new creature

Here I will give an example of creature I created that you are all free to use but please pm me if you do as I'd love to read the story you wrote.

Sable

A sable has shimmering silver fur, is the size of a cat, has black eyes and steal the souls of newborn babies. They hate the scent of mint.

• The red-haired hero or heroine is over used.

Most people in fantasy books have red hair and are white. It's boring. Try writing about a poc or at the very least give your character a different hair colour.

• Dragons

I love dragons but they have overused so I've come up with a few ways to have them in a story

• A dragon version of sea monkeys

• Holographic Dragons

• If you want to have them as an enemy how about a form of dragons that lay their eggs inside a human like a parasite
