Chapter 1: The Queen's Princess

Disclaimer: I do not own Black Butler

Charlotte's POV

Mom! Dad!

I ran the halls looking for them. I know, my mom said that whatever I do, don't go out of my room. But being the stubborn six year old child I am, I did. I ran to the halls. It was a maze even though I lived there all my life. I ran and tripped over something. I fell. My body hurt from the force of the fall so I let myself lay there for a few seconds. Then I stood up and looked at the item that tripped me. I gasped. It was a gun. But it isn't an ordinary one, it was my dad's.

I stood up knowing that they're nearby. I ran the hall and recognized it as the main one. I ran to the stairs and saw a man about to strangle my mom.

"Mom!" I shouted, tears now streaming from my eyes. They both looked at me.

"Honey, turn around and run as fast as you can outside!" My mom shouted to me, still fighting off the bad man.

"B-But-"

"Just go!" My mom pleaded as my father got shot. My mom snapped her gaze directly at dad, her face etched with horror. The man pointed the gun at my mom and pulled the trigger.

As much as I wanted to stay, I ran back upstairs and ran to the other exit.

Just then, I heard the sound of crackling fire.

On my way to the exit, I saw fire creeping its way to me. I grabbed the door handle. I turned around one last time and saw the hallway burning. I opened the door and ran.

~~~~~~~~~~
Hi! My name is Charlotte, and I am currently running away from this maid.
"Your highness! Please give it back!" She pleaded as she ran after me up the stairs.
"Nope! No can do!" I answered back playfully as I ran up the stairs.
I ran the halls. I looked back to see if she is still following me. Then suddenly, I bumped to someone. I fell to the ground and so did the other person.
"Ow..." I said as I rubbed my head. When I noticed who I bumped to, I immediately stood up.
"M-Mother! I'm sorry!" I apologized as I held my hand to help her up. She placed her hand on mine and stood up. As soon as she was back on her feet, she looked at me sternly.
"I told you not to run around inside the palace, didn't I?" Mother scolded me. I lowered my head.
"Sorry..." I apologized once more, pouting for effect. She sighed.
"What have you been up to this time?" She asked. I reluctantly held out my hand with the maid's hair bun. He sighed again, deeply.
"What did I tell you about disturbing the servants while they are doing their duties?" She asked, in her authority voice.
"Do not do anything that may slow down people's work like pranking and stealing their stuff..." I mumbled, repeating the same line mother always tells me.
The maid finally made her way to where mother and I was. She bowed upon seeing mother.
"Your majesty, Queen Victoria," The maid greeted reverently. Mother asked her to stand.
"Now Emily, apologize." Mother ordered.
"Sorry for troubling you." I apologized hesitantly and handed her hair bun as I made my almost crying face.
"It is alright, princess! Nothing to worry about! Please don't cry!" The maid answered rather quickly, her face resorting to a panicked expression. Mission accomplished.
The maid went off after requesting her leave. Mother put a hand over my shoulder, leading me to her study. She sat on her chair.
"Listen, child. You are already thirteen. You should learn how to be a proper lady. You will replace me as Queen if I died. What would your citizens think if they had an immature Queen to rule over them? Do you think they will respect you?" Mother told me.
"I'm sorry, I am not really accustomed to acting like a lady. I take interest on other things," I explained.
"Even if you do have an interest on other things, you should know how to be a fine lady. Like me, I have interest in horseback riding which they do believe is for men but I still maintain my composure."
"I will try mother," I said apologetically.
"I'm going to send you to my loyal guard dog, Ciel Phantomhive, to teach you how to be a fine lady." My eyes widen at that comment.
"But mother I-" I protested.
"You will be going whether you like it or not." She said sternly, cutting me off. I sighed and let my head drop. I cannot disagree to that, she is the Queen after all.
"Fine," I muttered. Her stern expression turned to a delighted one.
"Great! I will get someone to fix your things. You will be leaving today," Mother said quite cheerfully. Is this how happy she is to get me out of the palace?
"Then mother, can I bring my cat with me?" I asked thoughtfully. "After all, she never listens to anyone other than me."
"Hmm... I think that is a good idea." Mother agreed. Yes!
Someone knocked at the door. A butler entered.
"The carraige is ready, your majesty," He said, bowing.
"Okay then," I answered, slightly surprised how quick they were, "I will go get Chesire."
I ran to my room after bidding mother goodbye. I entered and looked through the massive area.
"Chesire! Where are you?" I called out. Then I saw her usual grin in the closet. I smiled.
"There you are, Chesire! Had fun going out today?"
'It was kind of boring. But I found something.' She purred. You might be wondering why I can understand her. It is because of a charm in my necklace.
"What is it?" I asked. She always brings the most interesting things to me.
She put a charm of her secret fur bag. It was a silver half heart charm I put it back in my pocket.
"Let us talk about it later." I picked Chesire up. We're going to Ciel's Mansion. It was a long time I saw him, back when we were four. I wonder what he looks like now.
