I heard the chickens in a panic literally five minutes ago, didn't know why so I went out. They all ran to the coop distressed so I thought they were looking for Thea... I did a head count cause something felt off an noticed we were missing Pedro, I thought she was hiding a nest somewhere... nope... a hawk blended in the corner, I didn't even see the fucker until it tried to fly away with her. And even then it didn't want to go, I was three feet away from grabbing a hawk, that's something I've never thought I'd see. I'm not really that upset, I was for a moment cause I saw perdos poor body. I don't like seeing dead animals especially since these are the ones that are ours. It also scares me that it didn't have to be Pedro, if our dogs were up it could've been one of them.
I mean... it's fascinating that it happened and the hawk was that bold. But, it's a but morbid to know that it just got her maybe a minute or two before I could go out there, I only went out cause they panicked, guess the chickens didn't know either.
At least I learned hawks give a quick death... it was better that it was a hawk rather than some house cat being a dick. But I don't know if mom will have chickens past winter at this rate.
