Christmas had come and gone and Danny's friends had just began to ignore him. No merry Christmas or happy holidays, just silence. Danny knew he, Sam and tucker had been drifting apart since he came to live with Vlad, but he had hoped they would work it out. Sure Vlad wasn't the best in their eyes, but he treated Danny like an actual son...heck the man bought him a car! And an expensive one too! He wouldn't do that if he didn't like him. (At least a little anyway.) Danny shook his head trying to clear away the negative thoughts.

"Young master Daniel, your father wishes to speak with you." One of the maids said knocking lightly in the door beforehand.

"Tell him I'll be right down Mariah." Danny replies getting up to get changed.

"Yes sir. The maid now known as Mariah replied with a bow before leaving.

Danny went to his closet and picked up a black long sleeve polo shirt and tight black skinny jeans. He quickly changed before grabbing his blue Jordan airs and slipping those on as well. He and Vlad has a New Years gala planned out and Danny agreed to help Vlad set up for the thing. It was more a business venture for Vlad and a learning opportunity for Danny. Since Danny would later inherit Vlad business(es) he had to learn how to do these thing eventually. Plus Dash and Danny's fathers worked together, and Paulina's parents have high social status, and are trying to marry her off to a wealthy family, so he wouldn't be completely alone. Danny's thoughts dissipated as he reaches the did I get room and sat down.

"This morning we have a maple bacon, cheese omelet with a maple syrup/ bacon drizzle along with assuage and hashbrown on the side. Your drink this morning is a sparkling wine cider." The chef announces as the maids placed the food in front of the pair.

"Wine?" Danny asked.

"It's New Year's Eve Daniel. Of course your allowed to drink." Vlad replied.

"I'm underage Vlad..." danny drawled.

"Daniel you can have alcohol when your 16 with patentable consent. Since I am your legal guardian and parent I can tell you if you allowed to drink." Vlad informed.

Danny simply nodded and carried on with breakfast. Once he had finished he got up and left. He entered the ballroom area and made sure preparations were going smoothly. The countdown was displayed, tables placed and decorated. Silverware and fountains placed accordingly. 'Good' Danny thought.

It was four hours two hours till midnight. The ball had started hours ago and Danny had broken three wine glasses in his hands palm within the last hour alone. Paulina was flirting with every boy her father introduced her to, even though it was expected by her father as per the marriage thing, Danny didn't like it one bit. Currently she was flirting with a blond boy which fair skin and stormy grey eyes. He was thin but by no means did he look weak. He had a fair amount of muscle Paulina was loving this guy. Vlad saw Danny's stormy expression and walked over. Danny not noticing Vlad and only watching Paulina righted his grip on the new wine glass in his hand. It had been 10 minutes since he broke the last one. The taller boy smiled at Danny knowing it was his girlfriend on his arm. Dash who was stood behind Danny was frowning at the girls behaviour. Sure she was supposed to be flirting but she didn't have to be as touchy as she was being. As Vlad got to Danny all eyes were in the pair as the sound of glass shattering could be heard. Danny had once again broken a poor wine glass in anger. All eyes had resumed their previous placements as Vlad shooed their gazes with his hand and glare. All except his girlfriend and the boy she was clung to.

"Honestly Daniel, if you keep breaking them at the rate your going there won't be any survivors." Vlad joked.

"Thats my girlfriend Vlad..." Danny growled.

"Her father expects her to do what she must to climb the social ladder Daniel. I did try to warn you." Vlad said nonchalantly.

"Danny, I've been in the same boat. It's the reason I broke up with her to begin with. She only wants you as shiny prize on her shelf of boys." Dash interjected.

Danny growled at the two and walked over to Paulina as a slow dance started. The taller boy tried to grab her but Danny was much faster.

"Careful boy, I bite, and I bite hard." Danny growled.

He danced with Paulina who looked happy to see him but sad that she had to leave the taller blonde boy. Danny sounds Paulina as the dance ended and grabbed her shoulders. He leaned in to her ear and silently whispered;
"I don't like to be a shiny toy, and I don't like cheaters. I think you need some time alone."
Before walking away with a smug smirk.
Paulina collapses on her knees head in her hands as she began to cry. Her sorrow however drowned out by the blaring siren of the new year.

"Maybe next time she won't play with her boyfriend. Or treat him like a toy." Danny Dash as he approached.

"What did you say?" Dash asked concerned.

"I merely said I don't like cheaters." Danny replied.

"Happy new year Daniel." Vlad said walking off.

"Happy new year Vlad. You too Dash."

"Happy new year dan." Came his reply.
