It had been several months since vlad had adopted Danny. There was snow on the ground now, and the cool air filtered into the room through Danny's open window. A cold hand and gentle shaking had quickly woken him up.

"Vlad I'm tired...." Danny said sleepily.

"Alright, I guess presents can wait them." Vlad said slyly.

Danny bolted upright in his bed. Presents? I don't get presents. Why would he be giving me presents? Yes Vlad gives me the occasional thing and other people would be calling me spoiled, but he never says presents.

"Presents?" Danny asked.

"Daniel, it's Christmas. Don't tell me you never got presents from your family."

Danny shook his head sadly. "They never gave me anything, but chores and punishments, heck I haven't even had a proper birthday."

Vlad sighed. The older man didn't want to bother with unpleasantness, not today anyway.

"I'll just have to change that won't I? Now come Daniel, don't worry about clothes. You can wear your pjs today." Vlad said with a light laugh.

Vlad left after he was sure the teen was behind him. The pair entered the living room and Danny's face lit up at the sight of the tree. "Vlad must have put it up when I fell asleep." Danny though. Danny notes the empty tree and the ornaments beside it. Even though it had presents underneath there was no decoration.

"Vlad why are there no ornaments in it? Don't they usually have ornaments?" Danny asked.

Vlad simply laughed. "Daniel I wanted to decorate it with, as a fun surprise." He replied earnestly.

Danny's face lit up even more. He had never had a proper Christmas, that was a luxury only jazz had been awarded, and now this man who was supposed to be his sworn enemy, was not only acting like a father but treating him like he was actually important and as if he was his son. Danny was only shown kindness by Sam and tucker, but even that felt like a lie, and now here is this man, who actually treats Danny like he isn't alone. With a determined look Danny set about to grabbing ornaments and handing them to Vlad to decorate. An hour later found the pair sitting in the couch with a beaming Danny and two hot cups of hot cocoa.

"Alright, the tree is done and now it's present time. Daniel stay right there." Vlad told the boy.

Danny did as told and stayed seated and Vlad got up. The older man picked up the smaller two presents and handed them to Danny. This continued until he had him through 38 wrapped boxes, and Vlad finally picked up the biggest box. Inside the back was a small labeled "Open me second" and a bigger one labeled "open me first." Danny opened the bigger box first as said by the magical box gods, and found things for the interior of a car.

"Vlad?" Danny asked curiously.

"Keep going Daniel. I missed your birthday so this is a late 16th birthday gift." Vlad said proudly.

Danny just nodded and continued to look through the box. There was a small planet shaped air freshener,along with a few others. There was also a spaceship dangly for his rearview mirror. The next thing he found was his drivers license. After picking it up and seeing the box was empty, he had opened the smaller box. Inside he found a set of car keys. He noticed Vlad begin to leave so he followed, being led outside. Danny looked at the car parked in front of the house on the round driveway. It was a red Lamborghini Veneno with custom crystal white interior and black accents. The wheels rims were a titanium white.

"Your telling me you put a bunch of small thing in small boxes in a really big box that lead to a car!" Danny yelled.

"Dear boy, that's the joys of my life. I can do whatever I want." Vlad laughed.

"This is actually mine!?" Danny asked.

"Why would I give you the keys otherwise." Vlad joked.

Danny launches at the older man, wrapping him into a tight hug. He had never expected to ever own a car, yet here was.

"Thank you Vlad!" Danny yelled.

The boy ran inside and grabbed his license. He hopped in the car and told Vlad he was going to just drive around for a bit, before leaving. When Danny returned he sat and ate dinner with his father beforehand re going to bed and waiting to see what the days ahead would bring.
