"Tenten, are you alright?" Neji asked as they landed on the river water. She breathed in heavy and looked over at him.

"Yeah." She says breathlessly. "I'm okay. Thank you."

"Stay here while I go back with the others." He tells her. He then leaps up and disappears into the trees. Tenten huffed and reached up taking her buns out her hair. Her brown hair fell loosely a little ways past her shoulders.

She hated how she felt like Guy-Sensei, Lee and Neji always put their lives on the line to protect her. She wanted to stand with them to.

Her weapon mastery wasnt the best but there was something she could work on.

Temten walked to dry land and sat down trying to replenish her Chakra untill she heard a stir in the bushes. Slowly reaching into her ninja tool pouch, she slipped her finger into the loop of a kunai. She waited.

"Tenten!" Her obnoxious but hardworking teammate Lee came into view and she let a sigh of relief removing her hand from the holster.

"Lee." She says softly. "W-where's Guy-Sensei and Neji?"

"Neji told me to look after you while they fight the enemy." Lee replies with a thumbs up.

Tenten flopped on the ground."I'm sorry Lee." She frowns. "I wish I was stronger."

"You did all that you could Tenten." He smiles.

Later that day, Tenten was bandaging Neji from his wound from the earlier fight. She sat behind him rubbing ointment onto his back. She blushed heavily as she did.

Her hand slowly moved over his back muscles as she rubbed the ointment into Neji's pale skin. Tenten's breath hitched.

She's always been in love with Neji Hyuga. It's been a feeling that she could never shake. It was always Neji. Girls often flocked over Sasuke Uchiha, who recently fled the village. But to her, Neji was the cool one.

She loved the way he tied his long brown hair behind his head. Or how he'd close his eyes when he's in deep thought; or trying to tune out Lee and Guy-Sensei's chants of youth.

She loved how he'd get that small smirk on his face when he found something humorous. Neji was everything to her and he had no idea.

Neji took in a deep breath as he felt Tenten's hand across his skin. He almost melted at her touch, but he pulled himself together.

Tenten was the only girl that Neji would ever let get this close to him. Why? Because she wasn't dumb. She was a clutz, but Tenten was far from dumb. She wasn't boy crazy over Sasuke Uchiha, she wanted to master her jutsus. She didnt care about Sasuke. She wasnt even amazed at his flexibility or his jutsus. It intrigued him.

He always watched Tenten when they trained. It was just something about her dedication that drew him in. Yeah there were times she complained, but he knew that either way she would still push herself. He loved that about her.

To see her so gentle with him now scared him. How could she be so gentle. No one was in the room but them two. Guy and Lee were outside doing 5,000 push-ups and driving Neji crazy as they chanted about Youth as they counted.

"Come on Lee 3,000 more!" Guy Sensei shouted.

"Yes Guy Sensei!" Lee would respond.

"It's amazing those two havent killed themselves already." Tenten breathed out. Neji smirked and closed his eyes listening to her voice. "Those do over do it every time. It's like we're the only sane ones here Neji."

The sentence caused Neji to snort, which surprised the both of them.

"I'd have to agree." He says. "One day Guy Sensei will realize he's not as young as he used to be."

"Maybe when he throw his back out." Tenten mumbled.

Again, Neji snorted.

"Hold your arms up so I can wrap you up." Tenten says nervously.

Neji complied. Tenten snaked her arms around his torso as she wrapped him up with a bandage. Her face completely red as Neji's held a slight blush as well.

"Tenten, I have a question to ask you." Neji says after a moment of awkward silence.

"Hm? W-what is it?" Tenten lifted her head up to look over Neji's shoulder as he slowly bought his arms down. He turned to her and threw his ponytail back behind him.

His lavender eyes staring at her. The Byakugan. With the Byakugan Neji is able to see miles and miles away from him at a 360 degree rotation.

Tenten began to fidget under his gaze.

"I-is there anyone that you like?" Neji's gaze softened before they lowered to the space between them. Tenten blushed, covering her mouth to hide it. What would bring Neji to ask that?

"Why you ask?" She says.

This time, the young Hyuga blushed. His eyes looked everywhere but at the beautiful girl before him, trying to get himself out if this one.

"W-Well it seems as though Lee likes you." He gave a slight sigh mentally patting himself on the back for being quick on his feet.

Tenten cringed. "No, I don't like Lee." Again she blushed. "But there is someone." Her voice trailed off.

"I see." Neji replies. He then slips his hands back into the arms of his clothes. Adjusting them on his body, he flipped his ponytail back behind him. "I'm sure whoever you're in love with is a lucky shinobi."

Neji then stood to his feet and walked over to the sliding door that separated his, Guy's and Lee's room with Tenten. He looked over his shoulder at her and smiled softly making her blush.

"Goodnight Tenten." He says before stepping into the room and sliding the door closed.

"Goodnight Neji." She whispers as she look down at her hands. "I love you."
