Ice: well to start, I'd say how many writers try to go for an underdog theme, even though most of the MCs have overpowered quirks. Ya see, there's unreasonably godly quirks that either have zero drawbacks or have a drawbacks that's hardly much and is redundant or never comes into play all that much. That, and they're OP right off the bat and their quirks happens to be the most OP quirk there is without any explanation 85% of the time.

Shay: what about one for all, todoroki and bakugou's quirk?

Ice: dude, at least there quirks makes sense. One for all is powerful to the point of shattering the user's bones if not prepared, todoroki will either get frostbite or burn himself if he uses either side without the other, and bakugou can dehydrate himself and go deaf. Though weirdly enough, he hasn't gone deaf yet or liquefy his body from the force and Shockwave of his own explosions. It's a miracle how AFO hasn't gotten to fanfic MC yet.

Shay: ok what else?

Ice: you want the god-awful shipping or lame-ass motivation?

Shay: the shipping?

Ice: oh where do I start? Oh yeah! The majority of it is gay as hell! Not that I have a problem with LGBT-Whatever but Like seriously, they'd ship anyone with anyone of the same sex despite the fact that most of the characters they're shipping haven't shown interest in that other dude, or really any interest in the same sex for that matter. And even when they are gay they don't really take into consideration if they're a match or not.

Shay: I see. So I already know of the cringe and bakudeku. Pretty strange how people ship those two even if they're an awful match. Like, didn't Bakugou torment izuku his whole life and even told him to dive off a roof? All that solely because izuku didn't have a quirks? And even when he gets one, he was still a rotten bastard to him and never had once apologized for what he did? And also tried to kill him on purpose?

Ice: exactly. Yet everyone makes them fuck because why not. So you wanna hear the other or should I let you go back to work?

Ice: tell me shay, what's some of the most common and cliche backstories/motivations you ever seen in MHA fanfics?

Ice: yep. That pretty much sums up like 80% of the stories I've seen up to this point. It's so Clichéd that it's flavorless and bad.

Shay: but boss, you should know that it isn't the cliche itself that's all that bad, it's just the execution and how it's dealt.

Ice: true, but still though. If you look at the majority of the books, then you should see that the MCs that aren't izuku are pretty useless. Though whatever change to izuku is only just "slightly" less useless.

Shay: what about helping izuku and bakugou during that slime monster thing?

Ice: they would've been just fine since it'll basically be the normal show.

Shay: scoring on top of the test or either the entrance or first day one?

Ice: that's important later on?

Shay: the time bakugou intentionally tried to kill izuku?

Ice: I don't think that's important either.
