I entered Ancilla into the competition as part of the Romance team. I don't fully understand how the relay race works, but it looks like a lot of fun.

I will confess to picking the Romance genre because it looked popular, and my teammates all seem to be strong writers like me, so if we're making it to the finish line as a team rather than competing against each other, we stand a pretty good chance of winning. 

Mostly, though, I just entered because I liked the unusual concept of a literary relay race. Also, liked the graphics. Athena (Cool-cat2023) has these amazing graphics. I think I ultimately decided against giving the Celebrate Easter Awards anything but a shout-out because I was worried that volunteering as judge of the LGBTQ category might present a conflict of interest to my competing in Salzburg, also, I have my hands full judging and writing up about twenty other books from other contests, but here's a second shout-out because just look at the book cover. Whenever I see this cover, I want a pet bunny. Have I mentioned that I've read Watership Down more than 43 times?

UPDATE (7/30/2024) - This contest was called off due to various reasons beyond the host's control, most of which can be summed up by saying "Getting judges to do stuff is like herding cats."
