Chapter two
Josh wrapped a protective arm around me as I shivered, his hot body keeping me warm as he led me to his car. "Thank you, again," I said as we got in, Josh placing my bag in the back seat. "Anything for you, my love," Josh replied with a kind smile before he started the car, warm air blowing in my face. "Do you want to go grab something to eat for dinner? I smelled someone cooking," my Quiliva asked as he drove, offering to take me anywhere. "I wouldn't mind," I replied, blushing as my stomach rumbled, getting Josh to laugh. I looked up at the winter sky, hoping that it would snow; I love the snow, holding back my tears as thoughts hit me of my family; I would be spending Christmas alone, minus Josh of course.
Josh nodded before he took a left, the radio turning on at the press of a button, the volume loud enough for us to har.
"Alright! Star here, and this next number is to all the distressed lovers in the world," the radio host called into his microphone. I couldn't help but smile as I recognized the intro; it was our song! To surprise Josh, I started to sing along first, being a base in choir during my grade school years.
I run from hate
I run from prejudice
I run from pessimists
But I run too late
To my surprise, Josh started to sing, his voice high and beautiful; he must have been a tenor, having taken choir with me during our senior year together, which was when we got together, ironically.
I run my life
Or is it running me?
Run from my past
I run too fast
Or too slow it seems
I joined with him for the next part, taking his paw in my own; I knew of his past when he came out of the closet, his parents taking it worse then mine had. I had spent several nights with him to comfort him, to hold him as he sobbed into my shoulder as he cried himself to sleep; we had been together for over a year.
When lies become the truth
That's when I run to you!
This world keeps spinning faster
Into a new disaster so I run to you
I run to you baby
And when it all starts coming undone
Baby, you're the only one I run to
I run to you...
I shared a small smile with my love, both of us have done just that for each other. I gave him a peck on the cheek before continuing to sing.
We run on fumes
Your life and mine
Like the sands of time
Slippin' right on through
And our love's the only truth
That's why I run to you!
I did not look out the window as Josh parked, leaning over to kiss him on the lips, my Quiliva returning it lovingly. "Shall we go eat?" Josh asked me when I broke the contact, my lips burning as I smiled at him, nodding as I got out the car. "Josh! Brandon! What's up?" a voice asked behind us, making us turn to see a Zoroark walking to us with a smile.
"Orrin, my man!" both of us said, moving it almost perfect sync to give him a high paw. "What are you doing here? On a date?" Orrin teased, getting me to blush. I would have stayed silent, if not for Josh taking hold of my paw before he pecked me on the cheek cutely, making me turn neon. "I guess you could say that," Josh replied, Orrin, looking at me with his jaw dropped; we had been friends since we were little. "Your gay?" Orrin asked, his tone stunned.
A sudden urge hit me before I turned to my boyfriend and kissed him deeply for everyone to see; a flame of surprise flared up on Josh's head, my boyfriend clearly not expecting me to do that in response. "Wow..." Orrin said, shaking his head with a laugh. I broke the contact to smile at Orrin, giggling slightly in mirth. I could see a few Pokemon glaring at me and Josh among the crowd, some of which were cheering for us. "I never knew; come to think of it, I should have realized with all the gay stories you had me to read over," Orrin said, looking and sounding like he just realized it. I laughed as we headed into the restaurant, the same one that I and Josh had our first date; Applebees.
"Welcome to Applebees! Table for three?" the host, a Gardivor, asked with a kind smile. "Yes, please. We are expecting a fourth Pokemon, though; she will ask for Izanagi," Orin told her. The host just nodded before leading us to a booth as I smirked. "Still using the dating app?" I asked as we sat down; I did not look at the menu, as I already knew what I wanted. "Yeah; a ninetails asked me to meet her here," Orrin replied, straightening his shirt nervously. With a crisp blue polo and jeans, Orrin looked fine, and I told him so. "I just want to make a good first impression," Orrin replied, looking at the front door like his life depended on it; I almost laughed. As a waiter appeared, he smiled at Josh in an almost flirtatious way; my love and Orrin turned to look at me, concern in their eyes. "Brandon, calm down," Orrin told me, his voice soothing; form my reflection in a mirror, I saw that my water blue eyes had darkened to sapphire shade, snapping me out o fit. " How may I serve you three today? Austin, our Buizel waiter, asked; did I see him glance at Josh's-!
"Yes, I and my boyfriend would just love some root beer," Josh responded, wrapping an arm around me; I had to hold back a smug look at Austin's flustered look, blushing deeply as Orrin ordered the same thing. I nuzzled Josh, murmuring 'I love you,' in his ear. "And I you," Josh replied with a peck on my cheek; I just smiled as the restaurant door opened. Orrin stiffened suddenly, making me smile. "Excuse me; are you Izanagi?" the host asked us, a beautiful ninetails beside her with a smile on her face.
Orrin nodded as he stood up, letting the ninetails sit across from me. "hello. My name is Roxann," the lady said after Orrin told us that this was his date. "I hope that you don't mind them joining us," Orrin asked, seeking forgiveness. "I don't mind in the slightest," the ninetails replied with a smile. I smiled as I recognized her accent.
" Hola. Mi nombre es Brandon, y este es Josh," I told her, Roxann smiling.
"Encantada de conocerte. ¿Él es tu novio? Creo que ustedes dos se ven muy bien juntos," Roxann replied in rapid Spanish.
"Si el es. ¿Piensas en nosotros como Pokemon? He oído demasiados insultos disfrazados de elogios para llevarlos con facilidad," I asked her, sighing slightly as Josh and Orrin looked at us like we were aliens.
"¿Por qué no lo haría? Apoyo a la comunidad de LGTBQ completamente; después de todo mi hermana es una lesbiana. ¿Cómo no podría amarla?" Roxann asked me, looking slightly offended before her face softened into a smile.
"Gracias; Te respeto mucho más por eso. Mi padre me odia porque soy gay; que se pudra en el infierno por ello," I told her; Roxann looked like she was ready to kill, flames in her eyes. "Hey, mind telling us what you two are talking about? You are kinda leaving us in the dark here," Orrin said, getting all of us to laugh. "I was just asking her if she supports Josh and me as a couple," I replied, Roxann nodding in agreement, a look of sympathy in her eyes. When Austin came back, Roxann ordered a Pepsi. The Buizel left again, his tail's twitching in annoyance; looks like someone is getting a bad review.
We all talked while we waited for Austin to return. "So, how did you two get together?" Roxann asked us, making me blush as I looked at Josh, who smiled at me in a charming fashion.
"Well, it went like this..." Jost began.
Wow, chapter two is done! To all the readers/ followers, what is a good idea for a love song that can be turned into a duet?
