Day 7: I'm not Athletic
Day 7
I AM THE CLUMSIEST PERSON ON THIS PLANET
I literally hate gym class or most commonly known in my school as physical education. I am not athletic in any way. I don't have a sport and I don't even like sports. Nothing in my body is fit for such activities. Even if I do workout, it never made me strong enough for volleyball, basketball, or running.
I would even trip over NOTHING. I would slip because of air. I would even get muscles sore just because of sitting down. Seriously, I don't understand how anyone of my classmates could spike the ball and make it land on the other side of the court. I was weirdly weak and awful at any game.
Last week (if I remember that correctly), we had to learn back hand service. In the 8 tries we get we need 5 balls to go over the other side of the net and inside the opponents side of the court. Then of course my tear ducts would betray me and I ended up crying due to frustration and muscle pain.
DAMN I JUST REALIZED HOW MUCH OF A CRY BABY I AM.
I had more than 8 tries. I think I had a hundred tries for the an hour and half of gym class. From all of the tries I had, I was able to put 3 balls over the net and in the other side of the court. My only problem was the amount of strength I needed to put to the ball. I had a good aim, but the problem was the ball was always landing in front of the net on the same side of the court. I had more than enough help from my friends who were athletes and my of course our teacher/coach.
I had an exam for college a day after that and my right arm was completely swollen red. I could feel the pain whenever I moved and I could see that it had bruises. My mom is totally against me playing games and getting injured, so I just kept the pain inside and told her I flunked gym class as usual.
We had a game yesterday requiring us to put in the skills we learned from last week. The problem was I DIDN'T LEARN ANY SKILL. I was still a baby playing the big girls' game. I know I wasn't the worst player (THANK GOODNESS I'M NOT), but I wanted to faint. Yes, that's how dramatic I am. I was just happy that when the ball landed on my space of the court I was able to hit it properly over the net. And if you're wondering if I served the ball like a pro... no I didn't. The ball went exactly in front of me. Yup, that's how bad I am! HAHA
Basically my athlete friend who had a slightly sprained ankle was the reason why our team won and of course the effort of my team mates who were good players nonetheless. We were loosing at first and was 5 points behind and this athlete friend of mine was a gift sent from God and made regained 5 other points which made us tie.
Like a dork, I danced for her. DAMN I LOVE MY FRIENDS WHO ARE SPORTY!
So my key take away for this experience is that always have sporty friends and dance for them like a weirdo when they make the team win. Just kidding! I would probably work on skill sets I am obviously lacking, like sports. I'll probably end up in the hospital with a broken arm or something in the process, but hey it would be a great story to tell :)
