I drove up and pulled the car in. Today was Saturday, the day I got to see Virgil after a week. I miss him so. I get to go see him now, so no point in dwelling on it. I know exactly where he is on this field. I walk over to where he lay and kneel next to him.
"Hey, Virg. You know how you were confused by some of my sentiments,actually one in particular. Yeah, well today I decided to explain it. When I say I love you more, I don't mean I love you than you love me. I mean I love you more than the bad days, I love you more than any fight we ever had. I love you more than the distance between us, I love you more than any obstacles that could try and come between us. I love you most."
I say my final words and set the black rose down. Black roses were his favorite flowers. Hopefully, I can see him again sooner. Work always gets in the way, but it doesn't matter. I'll make time. How could I not? I will always love him.
