Ghosts (sanders sides)
Prompt: Ghost

[Roman's pov]
One week.
One week of hanging with Virgil.
One week that was officially the best.
One week that would wreck my entire life.
. . .
I heard a soft knocking at my door. It wasn't Logan because there was no pattern to it, and it wasn't Patton because he knocks are little more heavy handed. I have no idea who this is. Guess I won't know till I open the door.
It was Virgil.
"Hey, Roman, c-can I come in?" Virgil asked me, clearly nervous. His head hung low and his fingers were fiddling with the long sleeves of his hoodie.
"Of course, Virgil. I'm not busy" I answered. It was rather peculiar that Virgil wanted to be with me.
"Thanks, Roman. I was getting kinda bored" He said, with a smile. The smile was unusual. One, he rarely smiles, and two, it was...knowing? Something about it was just off. Whatever, I brushed it off.
"Well, we can watch a movie" I said, gesturing to my collection of disney movies.
"How about we watch Black Cauldron?" He suggested. I remember that being his favorite movie.
"B-but it doesn't have any songs" I pouted.
"Exactly" He said with a smirk. I let out a small chuckle. This was going to be rather fun.
. . .
That was the first day. The day that started this whole thing.
. . .
I was walking back to my room from the kitchen when I saw him. He was pacing back and forth in front of my room.
"Hey, Virg" I said, which startled him. He basically jumped to feet up into the air. I laughed at his adorable cat-like reaction. He just pouted and glared at me.
"Sorry about that, may I ask why you here?" I asked. "Not that I don't want you to be here though" I added quickly. It was weird that he was in front of my room, not in his room wherever that was.
"I had fun yesterday, so I wanted to know if we could hang out again? It gets boring when your trapped all by yourself" He said. Trapped? Does he really feel forced to be by himself? We have to include him more.
"You want to join us for movie night later?" I asked him. That's a good way to include him.
"No!" He said rather quickly and loudly.
"Okay, okay. We can do something together for now, just the two of us" I told him.
"Yeah, that sounds nice" He said with a small smile.
. . .
That was the second day. The day that I really started to notice the wonderful things about him, but also, the off things about him.
. . .
I woke up in the middle of night. I was feeling a little hungry, as you do at one am, so I headed to the kitchen. On my way, I noticed someone sleeping on the couch.
It was Virgil.
"Virgil, why are you sleeping on the couch?" I asked him as I softly shook him awake.
"My room is g-too dark" He whimpered. I wonder what he wanted to say before he said too dark. Oh well, it doesn't really matter.
"You can come stay with me then" I told him. He nodded softly, and I carried him bridal style to my bed. I set him down and slid under the covers next to him. I stroked his soft hair until we fell asleep.
. . .
That was the third day. The day some feelings started to bubble up inside me.
. . .
I woke up, and Virgil wasn't there. Not surprising. Guess I'll have breakfast and see if he comes back later.
After breakfast with Logan and Patton, I went back to my room and saw Virgil sitting against the wall.
"I really like hanging out with you, Princey" Virgil admitted.
"I really like hanging out with you too" I said. He smiled. It was a beautiful smile.
We decided to play board games in my room. A normal things that friends do. Except it wasn't really all that normal. As we played, all I could focus on was him. His laugh, his mannerisms, his face. Just him.
And everything I saw was absolutely amazing.
. . .
That was the fourth day. The day I fell in love.
. . .
I woke up late that day. I had to rush everything. Getting dressed, eating, everything. I spent the first half of the day helping Thomas. Both Logan and Patton popped in time from time, but Virgil was now where to be seen. I guess Thomas was feeling a lot less anxious this week. I didn't dwell on it to much and focused on helping Thomas until I could go back.
As I walked back to my room, I bumped into someone. That someone was Virgil.
"Princey, you wouldn't be too sad if I was gone, would you? He asked me.
"I would be incredibly sad" I answered.
"Oh" He said and walked away.
. . .
That was the fifth day. The day I saw Virgil least and the day I wanted to see him the most.
. . .
The first thing I saw when I walked of my room was Virgil. Surprising, but not in a bad way. He smiled at me, the same beautiful smile. He said he would meet me in front of my room after breakfast. I was quite happy about that. I ate breakfast quickly and headed back to my room. Virg was standing there as promised. We did everything together that day. Everything little thing, he wanted to do it with me. It was somehow the best thing, yet incredibly unsettling at the same time.
. . .
That was the sixth day. The day that scared me the most.
. . .
I didn't see Virgil until after lunch. That made me a little sad, but at least I got to see him. When I did see him, something was wrong. Virgil seemed lighter than usual. Not like paler. He was more see-through? It was weird, but I didn't make much of it. We watched a movie that day. It was Aladdin. We sang songs together, and laughed together. It was amazing.
. . .
That was the seventh day. The day that would be our last.
. . .
Someone walked into the room where Logan, Patton, and I were seated.
"Hello, my name is Anxiety" He said.
If he is Anxiety, that means...
I fell in love with a ghost.
Heheh, hoped you guys liked that. It was part of a writing challenge with mkbutprinxiety , Crumbette , SassyCC , Choild_Teh_Shipper , and englishchips . Well anyways, thanks for reading. Comment, vote, whatever.
