Why TID is better than TMI (Opinion)

Since no one threatened me last chapter, I've decided to give my reasoning.
This isn't all of it because I could honestly go on forever about why TID is better, but let's give it a go.

First of all, character comparison:

The characters as a whole in TID were all so well written and unique. Sophie, Charlotte, Henry, Jem, Will, Tessa, Gideon, Gabriel, Cecily, and yes, even Jessamine.

And yes, I love the TMI characters. But as a whole? Compared to TID? I will always pick TID.

Think about this-
Tessa vs Clary
Both of them are great characters, but honestly, think of their character traits and what they've done.

Tessa- extremely brave, strong, even though she grew up believing that women weren't warriors. She was so kind to everyone and strived to see the good in everything. Remember Sophie saying how kind hearted Tessa was, even though she took Jem? (Oh yeah, Sophie is also the sweetest person alive). Tessa loved two men, and when Will confessed everything in Clockwork Prince, she stay true to Jem (even though it totally broke my heart and I cried). She didn't let the Dark Sisters break her, she faced Mortmain's army, she wasn't even a Shadowhunter, yet she chose to stay and help them! I can go on forever about Tessa's character.

Let's take a look at Clary now, shall we?

Clary- very brave, kinda oblivious, stubborn, tends to be daring, gets herself into trouble a lot, friendly, bold, has a bit of a temper, etc. I like Clary, I do, but . . . she kind of came out of nowhere, and I feel like she is pretty useless until the very end of City of Glass. Yes, she grew up believing she was a mundane, but so did Tessa, and if Tessa could accomplish so much in one book, why did it take Clary three to actually do something?
Also, I cannot believe that people call Piper from Heroes of Olympus whiny, yet say nothing of Clary! You might hate me for saying this but Clary got so annoying to me. 'Jace, I need you but you're my brother, and now you're not my brother, but you're such a bad boy, are you cheating on me? Jace where are you? I need you, Jace!'
And no, she was not like this the entire series and she's a great heroine to look up to, but c'mon, we do not need several chapter of Clary describing Jace's beauty.

Also, Clary would rather paint/draw than read. And for Tessa, vice versa.
Points for Clary deducted!

Jace vs Will

Will- really loves people, cares and looks out for them, funny, sarcastic, British, hates ducks, loves reading, etc. Will is amazing. People insinuated he was awful because that was his only option! He was given a fake curse, so he drove everyone away from him in the hopes that they would live! He did everything in his power to save Jem! He's good at heart!

Jace- sarcastic, cocky, funny, arrogant, great warrior, etc. Yes, Jace was taught that to love is to destroy, but COME ON! After six years of living with the Lightwoods, he still believed that? Yes, early childhood stays with you, but really, I can barely remember what happened to me when I was ten. So . . .
I love Jace. His sarcastic attitude is what makes Jace Jace. But sometimes I really didn't like it. Especially since he was cruel to Simon. Simon is my favorite TMI character. I love Simon.

We already discussed the parabatai comparison-- JEM AND WILL FOR THE WIN! (Off topic, but remember Jem and Will's last conversation with the "Goodbye, brother." I READ THAT IN SCHOOL AND I WAS CRYING QUIETLY AND I PUT THE BOOK IN FRONT OF MY FACE TO HIDE IT BUT I WAS SO EMOTIONAL! But yeah, that one part beats ALL of Jace and Alec's meager moments).

Continuing on--
Again, as a whole the TID characters are better. Charlotte and Sophie deserve awards for what they've endured and been through.

All of the TID romances were so sweet. The innocent Cecily and Gabriel, the extremely adorable Sophie and Gideon, the beautiful and real Jem/Will and Tessa, and the humble and sweet Charlotte and Henry.

Speaking of that, this leads to other topics.
All YA books now are usually set in today's world or futuristic. Going into the past was a remarkable idea! I loved the formalities and seeing how they fell in love in Victorian times.

In TMI, it wasn't the same . . . Yes, the times were different but I craved awkward proposals and hidden scones and book discussions and among other things!

The romance in TID was more sincere and beautiful than in TMI. (Ivy, put the knife down).

The writing in TID was so well done and beautiful, but in TMI, the writing lacked a lot. Where are my beautiful quotes in TMI? They're scattered everywhere in TID!

Everything about TID trumps TMI (opinion). The writing, the love stories, the characters, the friendship, the love in general, the message, the storyline-- everything.

Lastly, story.

Mortmain created vicious automatons whereas Sebastian had an army of demons.

The story in TID was so complex and wonderful and I loved EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!

So, *awkward cough*
Again this is my opinion, and I am not saying I hate TMI, on the contrary, it's one of my favorite series, but I needed to say that TID IS WAY BETTER!

Opinion. ^

I dunno, that's just how I feel.

Do you guys agree? If not, why is TMI better? (prepare for an argument)

Anyway, see ya! Bye!
