[ BOOK COVER TIPS : contest ]

so as you all know, I held a contest for getting 24k followers. the competition was to make a book cover for this book, and I was absolutely blown away from all of the entries. If you would like to see all of the entries, I have a reading list titled "contest entries III" on my profile. I highly encourage you to check them all out!

however, as always, it's so friggin hard for me to decide on the top few. so that's why I thought I'd show you guys some covers that I absolutely loved before I announce the winners.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

—I loved the consistancy of dark blue in this cover, along with the cool glow/blurry text in the title! Truly an outstanding cover and I can tell you worked really hard on it!

—I absolutely loved this cover! It's super simple yet gorgeous and it really stands out to a reader looking for a book. The only thing that bothered me a little was the small text, but that's something you could fix super easily. I really do love this cover and I'm glad you entered it!

—Mmmk never in my life was I prepared for this one!! Not only did Barry and Simmons blow me away (since this is the first time I've EVER seen these two side my side) but I love love love the dark blue consistency yet the glowy brightness about it! Truly love this, you did an amazing job!

—LORD this cover was the death of me. I really really love this one for multiple reasons; a few of them being the dark grey theme of it, along with the coloring of the hair similar to Harley Quinn's. You really blew me away with this one!

—These two I had sooo close to placing. I really love the top one with Crystal because of the different colors that make things pop, and then I especially love the one with Shelley because of the coloring and how different it is from normal covers. The only flaw I noticed was the title being hard to read, but I still adore both of these covers nevertheless. Thank you so much for entering both of these!

I seriously fell in love with this the moment I laid my eyes on it! The simple yet complex look about it really hooks a viewer in, and that's what I love to see. The color theme of the cover is something I never thought of, and GAH I just love this whole cover all around. Outstanding work!

Nick!! This blew me away the moment you sent it to me! I really adore how different of a style this is from everything else (even your own normal style!) and that's what I love to see. Contests are meant for getting out of your comfort zone and trying new things, and that's what you did here and the outcome was and is amazing!

ahh! I could go on forever about how much I love this cover, honestly. Not only is it the queen Selena (which the crown on her head suits her perfectly!) but the coloring of it is amazing and the textures in the background give it the perfect look. I can tell you worked really hard on this cover and I am really thankful for you entering this! (:

I truly and honestly thank each and every one of you guys for every entry; seeing all of them really brighten my day. I noticed a lot of new people enter this time around, and I love to see that! I still can't grasp the idea that you guys still enter my lame contests and put the amount of work into it as you do; you'll always blow me away!

As for this being my fifth or so contest, and seeing some of you same participants, I can really tell how much you are improving! Some of you are probs like "smh yeah right you don't even remember what I made before" but seriously, I recognized a lot of your usernames and remember what you made in the past, and the work and effort you've put in since my last contest, I can really tell. Practice always makes perfect and I'm glad to see you guys working hard!
