I've already reviewed your books on the chapter itself, but I shall go more in depth now since I have the time to!
Let's get started then, shall we?
I like the way you build a foundation on the book. Where you first introduce the plot, characters, setting and other important stuff. It's good that you have dialogues there too.
There's an excellent balance in dialogue and descriptions. In chapter two, Jasmine questions herself saying, "Who are my parents? Where is my home?" I feel like that's a very strong pair of questions you've added because not only does it show the restlessness of the character; but also the information you provide. Because from this, you'd know: she doesn't have a home, and she doesn't know where her parents are. Furthermore, leaves the reader pondering.
One thing I find interesting in this book is that it takes place in an unusual timeframe. You wouldn't expect nowadays, teenagers, to write about the time in 1960s. And definitely, this book does a great job of painting the scene so that you can understand what's happening in that time.
I love your cover; I think it's really beautiful!
Something I'd suggest for an improvement is to remember that your dialogue is AS important as your descriptions. I often see the flow of your writing break out because you have a dialogue. So, don't neglect your dialogue because that's what shows the relationship between two characters. But your descriptions are lovely; you're amazing with using words to paint a scene.
If you're looking for a good fiction novel that takes a turn in history, this is definitely a good pick!
