Murder on the Orient Express

  Having concluded a case, detective Hercule Poirot (Albert Finney) settles into what he expects will be a relaxing journey home aboard the Orient Express. But when an unpopular billionaire is murdered en route, Poirot takes up the case, and everyone on board the famous train is a suspect. Using an avalanche blocking the tracks to his advantage, Poirot gradually realizes that many of the passengers have revenge as a motive, and he begins to home in on the culprit.  

I read the book before watching this movie (that may or may not have been because of the new film coming out). I discovered that this was in my room and decided to watch it. Normally I would review the characters and so on, but I don't really see how I could do it. 

The movie was, thankfully, accurate to the original book, except for the beginning/before they got on the train. I do feel as though some parts could've been longer. However, some parts (the night of the murder) were a good length. I like how, instead of telling us how the murder/s did the crime, the do a flashback kind of thing, and during that, they give the reason why the person was murdered. 

It might be because of the quality of our TV's sound system, the fact it was raining or the distance I was from the TV, but it was hard to hear what they were saying most of the time. If it is because the actors, then I suggest getting/watching a version with subtitles. 

I do wonder though, how they manged to do all the train shots outside.

Overall: 9/10. A solid, good movie, that, if you haven't read the book, will leave you wondering who the murder is. 

Personally, I can't wait to compare the 2017 one to both the book and this version.
