Chapter 7
"So what exactly are you going to do to stop this winter?" Merida asked Anna.
"Oh I am going to talk to my sister." Anna replied confidently.
"Great so my ice business is relying on you to talk to your sister." Kristoff said.
"What if she doesn't want to see you?" Jack asked.
"Of course she'll want to see me. I'm her sister and no one wants to be alone." She replied
"Well if she runs off into the woods and mountains I'm pretty sure she wants to be alone." Kristoff said.
"Nonsense now how are we going to get up there?" Anna looked up.
The mountain was at least a 100 ft climb. The snow wouldn't help much either and no one had climbing experience except for Kristoff.
"Since nobody has mountain climbing experience...."
"Excuse me I may have not climbed any mountains, but I've climbed up cliffs before." Merida said starting to climb the big mountain.
Anna joined in and started to climb as well.
"What are you two doing?" Kristoff asked.
"I'm going to find my sister." Anna said.
"You guys are going to kill yourselves." Jack said as he saw the girls struggling to get their foot in the right place.
"I wouldn't put you're foot there, or there." Kristoff said.
"Shut up you git!" Merida said starting to get a climbing rhythm.
"Just block em out." Anna said. "Phew please tell me we're almost there. Does the air seem a bit thin to you?" She said breathing a little heavy.
Merida was about 10 ft above ground while Anna was just about 4ft
"Uh guys!!! I don't know if this helps but their is a stairway that goes directly where we want to go."
"That's convenient." Hiccup said.
"Oh thank god. Kristoff catch!" Anna shouted and jumped off.
Kristoff caught her with ease but had a confused look on his face.
"WHOO that was like some crazy trust exercise." She said.
"Mer? Can you get down?" Hiccup asked.
"I think so" she said as she started climbing down the mountain.
But her foot mistakes a piece of ice as a foot hole which made her slip
"Ahhhhhh" she screamed.
Hiccup leaped to catch her. Well he sort of did. More like he cushioned her fall.
"Hiccup are you all right?!" Merida exclaimed.
"Yeah I'm fine. Ow!" He said touching his snow covered head.
"Sorry! Thanks for the help though." She said kissing his cheek.
"No problem." He smiled.
"Guys! You have got to see this!" Kristoff yelled.
The group went over to a flawless icy blue staircase that led to a beautiful ice castle. The way the light hit the magnificent structure made the color change from variations of blues purples and pinks. It was truly amazing.
"Wow....." They all said
"It beautiful!" Rapunzel said.
"I think I'm going to cry." Kristoff said.
"Go ahead I won't judge." Anna said
"Can you do that Jack?" Merida asked.
"I don't think so I mean I've never tried. But wow! Look at this!" Jack said amazed "it's an ice castle a real ice castle!"
Sven and Toothless started racing up the stairs but they kept slipping and clumsily falling down.
"You guys stay here." Hiccup said. "We'll be back soon."
They started traveling up the glistening steps.
"Flawless." Kristoff said.
"They better be cause it's a long way down." Merida said looking down into the dark abyss.
They got to a huge icy door that had carvings of a snowflake in the center.
"Here goes nothing." Anna said.
She raised her hand to knock but paused. What if the door didn't open? What if Elsa didn't really want to see her? Maybe having ice powers wasn't the only reason Elsa shut her out?
"Knock..... Go ahead just knock.......do you think she knows how to knock?" Olaf said to no one in particular.
Anna gulped and knocked on the big door. The door surprisingly open swift and smooth.
"It opened! That's a first." Anna said.
"Now I need to ask you guys to stay here." She said.
"What?!"
"Well last time I introduced her to someone new she froze Arendelle."
"Oh come on I harvest ice! Ice is my life!" Kristoff complained.
"I'm a snow spirit Anna! The guardian of winter! And you want us to wait outside!" Jack exclaimed.
"Just give us a minute to talk ok." She said going in.
"One....two " Olaf started counting.
"Three..." Kristoff said disappointedly
"Four.." Jack said.
Anna entered the ice castle, it was even more marvelous inside then outside. Blue lit up the room. In the center was a frozen fountain. Staircases led up down the castle.
"Wooooowwww." She said.
"Elsa!?" Are you here? It's me Anna your uh sister?" She said.
"Anna?"
Meanwhile.....
"38.... 39...." Olaf continued.
Jack decide to fly Kristoff up near the balcony so they could see more of the castle. Although Kristoff was a lot heavier than Jack was use to carrying. So they were having some trouble.
"Oh my goodness quit it you two and let the girl have her privacy!" Merida said.
"Merida you don't understand." Jack said,
"You really don't." Kristoff added.
"It's an ice castle....Anna made an Ice master and an ice guardian wait out side it. It's practically our birthright to enter this thing."
Jack said.
"Or at least see the top." Kristoff said.
"Almost there." Jack said slowly carrying Kristoff up
"Idiots..." Merida said.
"Just be careful!" Rapunzel said.
Hiccup looked up at the two slightly wishing he had gone up with them. Although he wasn't master of ice he was vastly interested in inventions and creations. And an ice castle was an amazing architectural creation.
"Go ahead." Rapunzel said.
"What!?"
"I know you wanna go see it too." She said
"Yeah I really do." He said
"Than go, but Don't complain to me when Anna and her sister kick ye out." Merida replied.
Hiccup was already calling for Jack to lower his staff.
Meanwhile........
"Anna?" Elsa said
Anna looked at the top of the stairs and saw a totally different person.
The young woman's hair was in a wild braid, her dress was a blue and resembled ice crystals. She looked beautiful.
"Elsa? Wow you look...different.....in a good way of course." Anna said.
"Thank you." Elsa replied.
"Did you make all this?" Anna asked.
"Yeah, I never knew how capable I was." She said
"Listen, I'm so sorry for the argument I wouldn't have done that if I known..." Anna began to come closer.
"No no it's alright." Elsa recoiled back. "But I think it's best if you leave."
"What but I just got here!" Anna said.
"Anna Arendelle needs you and I need to be here where I can be myself and not hurt anyone." Elsa said.
"Well see about that--"
*crash!*
"Oh bloody hell! I told you idiots not to climb it!" Merida shouted.
"Who was that?" Elsa panicked.
"60!" Olaf yelled with joy and went into the castle.
"Hi I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs!" He said.
"Olaf?" Elsa asked.
"Yeah you made me?"
"And you're alive?"
Olaf looked down at himself. "Ah yeah I think so."
"It's just like the one we made when we were kids. We were such good friends then we can still be..."
Elsa couldn't help but remember the pain she had cost Anna when the they were younger. Elsa couldn't do it again.
"No. I'm sorry but I think you should go. Its not safe!" Elsa said. Turning away.
"I'm not afraid! Elsa please don't shut me out again we can figure this out together!" Anna said following Elsa up the stairs.
"No we can't, just stay away and you'll be safe from me." Elsa replied.
"Well you see there's a little problem."
"What?" Elsa asked.
"Arendelle's in deep deep deep snow." She said.
"What?!" Elsa exclaimed.
"You kind of set of an internal winter everywhere. But don't worry you can just unfreeze it!" Anna said optimistically.
"I can't! I don't know how." Elsa said.
