I woke to a nice sunny day, Snowpetal was outside getting some fresh kill. I padded out and looked around, a seering pain went through me head and a vision filled my mind.
"Four kits of a day's break shall hold the power of the forest and the stars in their paws," the voice said before vanishing, Snowpetal padded over a mouse in her jaws. She placed it down, she gave me a good look.
"You heard it too," Snowpetal whispered, I nodded.
"Yeah but I don't know what it means,"'I said, Snowpetal nodded.
"Do not tell any cat except other medicine cats after we figure out what it means," Snowpetal said.
"Ok I promise," I said, we quickly ate the mouse before I went back in to check the herb supply. A loud yowl came from the camp entrance, I poked my head out to see we were getting invaded by shadowclan. Me and Snowpetal watched on, I could not watch me clan mates get hurt so I ran out to see if I could find any injured cats. I noticed Hawkfang helping a shadowclan cat, my pelt bristled in anger and I bolted up to him. He spun around and his eyes went wide, mine narrowed.
"I-i knew nothing of this until we were attacking I promise," Hawkfang said, I flattened my ears but before I could say anything a cat barrelled into my side. I stumble sideways, I caught myself but was knocked over again. Something hit my lungs knocking the wind out of me before it suddenly lifted, I looked and saw Hawkfang had knocked the cat off.
"SHE IS A MEDICINE CAT YOU KNOW ITS AGAINST THE CODE TO ATTACK HER EVEN ME!" Hawkfang spat at the she-cat.
"WELL HOW WAS I SUPOSE TO KNOW WHEN SHE WAS GOING TO ATTACK YOU!" The she-cat spat before running off into the battle, Hawkfang padded over to me.
"Sorry about shadefur she has a bad temper," Hawkfang said.
"It's ok come to my den we have shelter there so we don't get hurt," I said, I showed Hawkfang to the medicine cats den.
"Why is he Here," Snowpetal hissed her voice cracked from age.
"This is Hawkfang shadowclans medicine cat and he has nowhere to put the injured cats so we may as well help," I said, Hawkfang nodded.
"Fine he can stay but if......." Snowpetal said but got cut off by a group of cats coming in.
"oh no," I said.
"GUARD THE HERBS!" Snowpetal yowled, I ran in front of the herb crevasse. I attacked any cat who got close, a jet black Tom attacked then a grey she-cat attacked at the same time. They pinned me down while a brown tabby to, ran in and tore apart our herb supply. I managed to get up and attacked the Tom, I clawed at the toms throat in blind rage. It took me a moment to notice I had killed him, I backed up the blood staining my paws. I looked back at the shocked cats, my eyes burned with tears and I ran off. I ran through the forest far away from the sounds of the battle, I had no idea I was being followed. I came to a sudden stop and went flying forwards, I spun around my pelt bristling to see Hawkfang.
"Why did you follow me," I spat, Hawkfang got up.
"Because Snowpetal asked me too," Hawkfang said,I just glared at him.
"I killed a cat," I hissed, his eyes showed deep sympathy.
"He tore apart your herb supply," Hawkfang said.
"Why do you talk to me after your clan killed my mother!" I yowled, my eyes showing nothing but hatred.
"Dawnpelt look shadowclan have exiled the Tom but we could do nothing more it's against the warrior code to kill," Hawkfang said, I knew I was trying his patience.
"Well I killed a cat!" I spat.
"He tore apart your herbs you had a reason!" Hawkfang suddenly snapped, I stumbled back.
"Hawkfang why do you bother talking to me," I said my voice quiet.
"Because we are medicine cats," Hawkfang said sitting beside me.
"How can I repay you for showing me so much kindness?" I asked leaning on his shoulder.
"Meet me by the border tonight," Hawkfang said, I looked at him.
"Ok I will," I said, we padded back to the now destroyed camp.
"I better go make sure my clan is ok," Hawkfang said running off after the now retreating shadowclan, I padded towards Snowpetal.
"Your back thank starclan," Snowpetal said padding up to me.
"Sorry I ran off when I could have been helping," I said.
"Trust me it was best because you would have been distracted and might have killed a cat," Snowpetal said with a purr, I purred.
"Your probably right," I said, I we get inside to my nest. I groomed my fur and layed down, I let sleep take over. After all, I had to be strong enough for tonight.
