*WARNING: Before you start reading this book, I HIGHLY recommend you read the 1st book in the series. They connect majorly and if you skip the first book, you will probably get confused in this second book. Make sense? 

*WARNING 2: Do not read this recap if you have not read the 1st book yet. There will be SPOILERS! Just a friendly heads up! :D

*You dont have to read this if you remember what happened in the first book. Its just for extra help.

Recap of First Book "The Age of the Ring- Book 1":

*So in the first book the Fellowship (besides Gandalf) started off their journey in Amon Hen. I twisted the story plot from there on out. 

*Basically all four Hobbits get taken by the Urka Hai orcs, Aragorn and Gimli are stuck in a hole, Legolas is gone, and Boromir is going mad for the Rings power. Boromir goes after the Hobbits in search for the Ring leaving the Fellowship broken. 

*Frodo and Sam manage to escape the orcs with the help of Merry and Pippin.

*Aragorn and Gimli get out of the hole they are stuck in and go after the Hobbits immediately.

*Frodo and Sam run into Eomer and the rest of the Rohan riders and he cuts their bounds off. Frodo and Sam decide to follow the orcs that still have Merry and Pippin in hope that they can save them somehow.

*Aragorn and Gimli then run into Eomer and his gang of riders and Legolas is with them! YAY! Eomer tells them were Frodo and Sam are going.

*Frodo and Sam finally make it to Isengard and watch the Urka Hai orcs take Merry and Pippin inside Orthanc.

*Still no mention of Boromir...

*Merry and Pippin are in Orthanc now getting harassed by Sarumon about the Ring.

*Frodo and Sam find a way to get inside of Orthanc and save Merry and Pippin just as they were about to get killed by orcs and Sarumon. Unfortunately, Merry gets stabbed hard in the leg. 

*Sarumon tricks the Hobbits and lets Sam, Merry, and Pippin go, but takes Frodo and the Ring.

*Boromir suddenly shows up at Orthanc and is flooded with guilt from what he was going to do. He decides to help the Hobbits.

*Just then Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli come are not to happy with Boromir. Everyone basically just ignores him, but keeps a keen eye on him for any type of evil.

*That part of the Fellowship hides in Fangorn.

*Meanwhile inside of Orthanc, Sarumon has come up with a plan to take Frodo to some hidden cave with a small group of orcs. Aragorn and the rest of the Fellowship will think Frodo is still in Orthanc and go inside to rescue him.

*They get caught just as Sarumon had planned. Gollum is in this scene also and gets away... nobody knows where exactly.

*Pippin escapes Orthanc and orcs track him down until he gets to Fangorn. Gollum finds Pip there and asks about the Ring. Pippin doesn't know were it is and while Gollum has wasn't his time, the orcs grab him. 

*Gandalf the White comes and saves him, bringing him to Rohan. Gandalf saves the brainwashed Theoden while he is there also.

*Pippin gives Gandalf the information of Frodo in some secret cave and they leave immediately.

*Gandalf and Pippin get to the cave first. Gandalf fights off all the orcs in the cave while Pip saves Frodo. When they come out of the cave, Sarumon and his orcs are waiting. Gandalf makes Frodo and Pip gallop away on Shadowfax, his horse. (Not wanting to put the Ring in jeopardy).

*From behind the orc troops, there comes Rohan people who come and start a battle... known as "The Battle at the River". Gandalf and Sarumon fight until Bomoir comes and kills Sarumon with three stabs in the back. (All three stabs having different meanings).

*Everybody is safe now. The orcs and evil forces from Isengard are all dead and the Rohan riders go back to Rohan.

*Gandalf calls for Shadowfax to come back with a special whistle. Shadowfax turns so abruptly that Frodo falls off at the bottom of the Rhun Mountains. Pippin makes it back saftly to the others and explains were Frodo landed.

*Gandalf and Sam go to the mountains riding on Shadowfax while the rest walk behind. Gandalf and Sam get to the mountains first and climb over it hoping to find Frodo.

*Soon the others get to the mountain and start climbing. It starts snowing heavily so they take a break in a warm cave in the mountain. Much like in The Hobbit, the ground cracks and the companions fall into Goblin territory.

*Goblins take the companions to the Goblin king. Pippin almost drowns and Aragorn gets stabbed in the stomach. Merry and Pippin find a way out and then find Gandalf. Eagles come and the companions are taken away... but where are they going? You will see in this next book!

*The only thing i did not mention in this brief summary was the whole situation with the 3 Elvish keys. If you have any questions about the keys, just ask.
