Chapter 27: The Return of the King 1-20-17

Soon the Fellowship found themselves in Gondor yet again. The Eagles had brought them back there safely. A whole crowd of people that lived in Minas Tirith were waiting for the crowning of their new king.

That new king would be Aragorn.

He had been the rightful heir to the throne ever since he was born. Denathor had been notified of Aragorn's return of the king by Boromir and was sent to the dungeon until somebody could handle his outrage.

Along with the rest of the Fellowship, Aragorn had been cleaned up and looked a lot different now. His hair actually looked combed and well done as did his choice of clothes. He was wearing all chainmail from top to bottom with a thick armored chest plate. Little bits of red cloth showed through around his neck and waist.

At Aragorn's belt was Anduril. Boromir had given it back to him after they all returned to Gondor. One of Aragorn's hands was proudly resting on its handle as he stood.

The crowds of people, including the whole Fellowship, all stood cheering on top of Minas Tirith main courtyard. Gandalf had the honor of crowning Aragorn and that was happening right now. Gimli stood next to Gandalf and held out the crown for Gandalf to take. Gandalf held the crown above Aragorn's head and slowly brought it down.

As the beautifully silver crown rested on Aragorn's head, Gandalf said loudly for all to hear,

"Now come the days of the king. May they be blessed,"

Gandalf looked down to Aragorn and Aragorn looked back up to him. They both shared the moment with a smile each. Aragorn then turned around to face his people.

"This day does not belong to one man, but to all. Let us together rebuild this world... that we may share in the days of peace,"

The whole crowd then applauded and cheered even louder. Aragorn waited until all were silent and then he started singing,

"Et Earello Endorenna utulien. Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar tenn' Amber-metta," (Out of the Great Sea to Middle- Earth I am come. In those place will I abode, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world).

He came down the steps slowly taking everything in. He was first greeting by a smiling and clapping Boromir who looked well dressed for the occasion. He was proudly wearing one of his blue Gondor suits as he smiled brightly at his new king.

Aragorn kept walking and was then greeted by Legolas right after. If it were possible, Legolas' hair looked a lot straighter and shinier than usual. He wore an all white outfit that suit him well.

"Hannon Le," (Thank you). Aragorn whispered to Legolas as they both put their hands on each of their shoulders.

They smiled at each other until Legolas backed up wanting to reveal something to Aragorn. A surprise. Aragorn looked past Legolas getting his message and saw Elrond. His mouth fell open at first and then formed into a smile.

His face lit up even more as he saw who was standing next to Elrond.

It was Arwen.

Aragorn wasn't sure what to do, but stand there in complete amaze and shock at what he was seeing. Elrond motioned for Arwen to walk towards Aragorn and she did. They both now stood in front of each other and looked into their blue eyes both feeling the same way.

Arwen was wearing a beautiful cream and light lime colored dress with a crown of pearls wrapped around her head. She looked beautiful in the eyes of Aragorn.

Aragorn extended his hand out to Arwen face and stroked her cheek almost to make sure that she was actually standing in front of him physically. Arwen smiled and without any warning, Aragorn pulled her into him and kissed her.

The crowd went crazy and started cheering once more and clapping.

Arwen brought both her arms around Aragorn and gave him her biggest hug. Aragorn did the same and never wanted to let go of her. They both smiled brightly and closed their eyes in the embrace.

After all the people were quiet once more, Aragorn and Arwen let go of one another and held hands. They walked until Aragorn lead them to the four Hobbits. They all stood in a row. Merry, Frodo, Sam, and then Pippin.

Merry wearing his normal yellow vast, Frodo in his red vest, Sam in his cream patterned vest, and Pippin in his usually blue vest. All at once, the four Hobbits awkwardly bowed down to Aragorn.

Aragorn looked at them puzzled and said,

"My friends. You bow to no one,"

The Hobbits all came back up from bowing and watched as first Aragorn, then Arwen, and then the whole crowd of Minis Tirith people bowed down... to them.

Merry looked around as he tried smiling feeling embarrassed as he bite his lower lip. Pippin smiled looked around with pride written on his face and liked getting the attention he thought he deserved. Sam frowned as he stood awkwardly wishing to not have all attention on him. And lastly, Frodo looked like he might burst into tears as he looked across the sea of bowing people.

He couldn't believe he had made it this far along with the Fellowship. And everybody had lived! Yes there had been a few bumps in the road, but nothing the Fellowship of the Ring couldn't handle.
