Chapter 19: Evil Overthrow 1-8-17

Frodo and Pippin were forced into a kneel in front of Sauron. Aragorn could tell Pippin had been crying due to his red puffy eyes and sniffling nose. He looked awfully scared, but they both looked defeated.

"So, these are the Halfling's?" Sauron asked his servant Orcs.

"Yes, my Lord," the Orc behind Frodo answered.

Sauron looked back to the shaking Hobbits before him and said,

"What made you venture into Mordor?" he boomed.

Pippin didn't look up. He was too scared to and Frodo could sense this of his younger cousin.

"We took a wrong turn I suppose," Frodo said his voice only a small squeak, "Us Hobbits were going to Gondor,"

Frodo thought his story would cover up the truth, but he was wrong.

"GONDOR!" Sauron shouted so loudly it made everybody in the room jump. Even the Orcs, "You are LYING!"

Pippin leaned against Frodo because he felt he might faint. Frodo saw this and put his weak arm around him. Aragorn couldn't watch this torture anymore.

"Where is the RING!?"Sauron bellowed, "Where is ARAGORN!?" he screamed and stood up looking ready to kill somebody, "My only wishes!"

Pippin ducked down and couldn't help but burry his face into Frodo's side. Before Sauron could say another word, Aragorn stepped out from his hiding spot and said,

"Here,"

All faces in the room went to him as he stood there. Frodo and Pippin still looked scared and now a little worried. They couldn't believe what they were seeing.

"You are a fool!" Sauron said and started laughing at Aragorn, "You think you can fight me?"

Aragorn bravely stepped forward with Anduril in hand. The Orcs were still frozen behind the Hobbits waiting for their master's next command.

"It's over now, Sauron," Aragorn said, though he did not believe it... yet.

Frodo and pippin stood up beside Aragorn. As fast as lightning, Aragorn took his sword and killed the two Orcs in the room. They screamed but did not fight as they both fell to the ground dead. Then Aragorn faced Sauron again. This time he felt braver and stronger.

"Frodo, Pippin, run," Aragorn whispered to them.

Thinking quickly, Frodo dug something out of his pocket. He slipped it into Aragorn's open hand and then did as he had commanded. They didn't think their legs could have worked, but they did thankfully as they booked it to the door.

Without taking his eyes off of Sauron, Aragorn slipped whatever Frodo had give him into one of his shirt pockets.

"They won't make it far. My Orcs will run them down!" Sauron laughed.

"No they wont!" another deep voice sounded.

Both Hobbits stopped and whirled around to the familiar voice. Aragorn did the same and there stood Gandalf in-between him and the Hobbits. Nobody could believe their eyes.

"Keep going," Gandalf said Aragorn, "You are not alone,"

"He has always been alone!" Sauron shouted at the wizard and at Aragorn himself.

Gandalf grabbed hold of Frodo and Pippin, said a short spell, and the three of them disappeared in a cloud of bright white light. Aragorn was relieved the three had gotten away.

Out of anger, Sauron took his staff and flung it at Aragorn. Luckily he turned just in time to see it and drop to the safety of the floor before it could hit him. Aragorn quickly stood up and attacked his opponent. Sparks of their swords sounded awfully loud as they each defended themselves.

They were both strong in their own ways. Aragorn was the light of the fight and Sauron the dark. Aragorn knew he couldn't let his light go out; he had to fight... and win.

Both brought their swords above their heads and brought it down making an even louder clashing noise. Aragorn's sword was on the bottom so he had the disadvantage of pulling his sword up while Sauron pushed down. Sauron noticed the struggle momentarily and took one hand off of his staff and struck Aragorn down with it.

His hand was pure metal with small spikes which pounded Aragorn's head. His lips started bleeding and half of his face started to turn the blue gray color of a bruise. The slam made him fall, but before Sauron could give the ending blow, Aragorn put his sword up and blocked his powerful swing.

Aragorn got up fast and dodged another swing of Sauron's staff at him. Neither of them were injured too badly yet, but Aragorn was tiring fast. He was human, but Sauron was not. Aragorn's long dark hair was wet from sweating as it flew freely back and forth with every sword clash.

He spun to avoid another attack from Sauron, but Sauron had tricked the man. As Aragorn spun, Sauron dropped his staff and grabbed Aragorn with his hands at his sides. He couldn't move and since Sauron's hands were at both his elbows, he couldn't swing his sword. Sauron's hands on Aragorn's arms burned him just like the Eye had when they made eye contact.

Aragorn kicked his foot and sent Sauron's staff flying across the room. Sauron growled in outrage and pushed as hard as he could on Aragorn's arms. He squeezed his eyes closed and clenched his teeth from screaming at the pain of being smashed by evil.

Sauron made Aragorn drop his sword and then pounded him on the floor hard on his back. Aragorn groaned in pain as Sauron put a heavy foot across his chest. Sauron drew a sword from his belt and held it high. Aragorn squirmed and tried reaching Anduril. It was an inch away from his reaching fingers.

"I have waited long for this!" Sauron said, "It's too late for you,"

Aragorn wouldn't give up so he slammed his fists into Sauron's metal foot, but it did no use. His cut up knuckles started bleeding.

"Any last words?" Sauron asked.

Something behind Sauron caught Aragorn's attention. It was Legolas!

"It's not over yet," Aragorn whispered as he made eye contact with Sauron.

Aragorn watched Legolas load his bow and shoot at Sauron. The arrow merely bounced off his thick armor like Legolas knew it would, but he had done it only as a distraction. Sauron turned around, but his foot was still planted on Aragorn. Legolas loaded his bow again and pointed it at Sauron's face.

"Get off him!" the Elf said bravely. He stood in the corner behind Sauron.

Sauron started to laugh again which made the pressure of his foot lift a little from Aragorn's chest. He took his chance and grabbed Anduril. He pushed forwards and stabbed Sauron clean through the back. Sauron screeched and Aragorn's hand that had been holding the sword froze was forced off of its handle. His hand turned even redder and it felt as though it was burning.

"No! Curse you Aragorn!" Sauron screamed on the top of his lungs.

Aragorn held his hand in pain and waited to see what would happen next.

"If I die, you die with me!" Sauron said.

Even as Sauron was deadly wounded, he grabbed Aragorn and threw him across the room. He landed in one of the cages lining the wall that he had seen earlier. Sauron slammed the cage door and Legolas let his arrow fly again. It still reflected off of his armor, but Legolas was outraged and had to do something.

"YOU!" Sauron shouted and fell to his knees. Anduril was still lodged in his back, "You can't save him now! Those are Thythinioncages! That means any Elf who gets close to the cages will burn whoever is inside! That means you would kill your own friend! DEATH!"

Legolas looked desperately to Aragorn in the cage. He was kicking it and pulling on the bars. Then Aragorn and Legolas both witnessed Sauron explode in front of them:

Light started glowing from his chest first and then it spread across his body. A flash of bright light flowed through the room and then it was dark again. Sauron had been defeated.

There was a moment of silence before Aragorn or Legolas spoke. Finally Legolas pushed himself out of the trance he was in and ran over to Aragorn.

Sauron had been right, as soon as Legolas got within three feet of the cage Aragorn was inside; the whole cage turned bright red and glowed. Aragorn screamed as he took his hands off of the burning bars. He backed up, but ended up burning his back instead and yelped again. Then he settled on standing in the middle, but it kept getting hotter and hotter. Legolas could tell by his face that he indeed was burning.

Legolas immediately backed up a whole couple of feet and said,

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean that! Are you all right?!"

The cage stopped glowing and Aragorn was okay again. He nodded and sucked on his bleeding knuckles.

Then the ground started to rumble. Aragorn and Legolas both exchanged the same look and said,

"Oh no,"

A/N: I had fun writing this chapter! What did you think? What do you think Frodo gave to Aragorn before he and Pippin escaped?
