Heart Sickening

Previously:

"Rogue, you started this, now I'm going to end it." Picasso threatened, holding his hoof up to Rogue's chest.

"It's time for the evil to...end."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rogue backed against the den's wall. Blood stained Rogue's palomino coat as Picasso dug his hoof deeper into her chest. Rogue sucked in the pain deeply, suddenly Jaguar came galloping through the den.
"Picasso... Taka." He panted, and collapsed in disturbance. Picasso left Rogue and darted away to see what was happening.
Rogue bent down next to Jaguar. "Jag, wake up." Rogue nuzzled him comfortingly.
"I'll be okay, you need to see what's happening." Jaguar ordered, slowly rising to his hooves.
Rogue cantered out, and all the mares and stallions were gathered under a large cliff hanging from the side of the cave. Rogue saw Taka backing up, fearful of what was in front of her.
Amber eyes glistened in the night sky, it was Prince.
Taka's back hoof slipped, but she regained balance. NO! This can't be happening. Rogue paced around fearfully, her parents were going to fight.
"Prince, please. I know there's still light in you." Taka sputtered. A murderous look flashed across Prince's face.
"Well, the lights are turned off." (Hey my friend Bear Forever came up with that phrase, make sure to check out her book America's Shame!) Prince neared Taka, making her slip off the edge. She clung on with her front hooves, and her back end digging against the cliff,  her struggling to get back on panicked Rogue, making her pace.
Prince bent down to Taka. He dug his sharp hooves into hers, "Long live the king." Prince muttered and flung Taka off the cliff. Every horse gasped as Taka plunged down to the ground.
Rogue stood in place shocked as Picasso pushed himself up front. He bent over Taka's lifeless body. "He killed her!" He yelled and everyone gasped. "He's a monster!" Picasso yelled, trying to gain everyone's side.
"Kill the monster! Kill the monster! Kill the monster!" Picasso started to chant, and the mares and stallions joined in. Rogue was frozen to the spot, she felt a piece of her heart had just crippled away. Her mother was gone. All the memories of them playing together, were gone.
Picasso lead the joined herds towards Prince, but they stopped in confusion. Rogue pricked her ears, they all heard a faint pounding sound, it sounded like a thousand horses trotting all at once.
Rogue turned around towards the sound, a chestnut coat glimmered with the blazing fire. A large patrol of horses were behind the chestnut.
Rogue didn't know the chestnut but Picasso and Prince did. Picasso cursed to himself and Prince smiled.
"Attack!" The chestnut yelled and thousands of her horses started to battle Picasso's herd. Hooves and teeth clashed and blood stained the grass. The chestnut took Prince's ack and they fought together.
"Retreat!" Picasso yelled, leading StreamHerd, DustHerd, and ShadowHerd away.
Prince and the chestnut hugged each other, and the horses rested. Rogue slowly walked up to him, curious.
"Oh Rogue, you're okay." Prince gushed. Rogue nodded her head and looked at the mare
"This is Stacie, my friend. She's going to join us for the final attack." Prince explained, nudging Rogue.
"Final attack?!" Rogue squeaked.
Prince and Stacie nodded their heads at the same time.
"Anyway, Stacie this is my daughter, Rogue." Prince introduced.
"Nice to meet you Rogue, I heard you are very powerful."Stacie dipped her head.
Rogue nodded and walked away while Stacie and Prince chatted.
She bent over her mother, tears streamed down her face, all the times Taka had made her happy, she had put up with pain giving birth to Rogue, but now it was destroyed.
"She's not worth it." Prince nickered sternly.
Rogue looked up, his amber eyes glistening. She nodded her head and walked away. The fire had burned out, trees laid in ashes.
Rogue found sleep under a tree, she felt heartsick. Before her eyes closed a warm breath tickled her neck.
She glanced up, a fire colored horse stood above her with warm eyes. "Jaguar?" Rogue asked confused.
"I thought you may need some comfort." Jaguar nickered, laying down next to Rogue
"Thanks." Rogue muttered.
Author's Note
Sorry if there are any mistakes in this chapter, I didn't have time to look over it. How do yo feel about Taka's death and I promise this isn't the end of her.
