It was a beautiful, sunny day in Blackthorn City in the Jhoto region. In a house with a lovely blue roof near the Dragon's Den shrine, we saw a ten-year-old with neck-length red hair that turned blue towards the ends, lying in a twin-size bed underneath a black blanket with a Dragonite on it, sleeping peacefully.

This boy is Jaxon Chevalier the middle child of Clair Chevalier the Blackthorn City gym leader and David Chevalier a pokemon breeder and doctor who owns a healing sanctuary for wild and abandoned pokemon to be cared for.

"Jaxon wake up breakfast time!" A female voice called from downstairs.

Jaxon who was currently sleeping in his bed woke up to the voice of his mother Clair yelling for him to wake on up, he slowly sat up in bed stretching his arms and yawning.  He suddenly heard the sound of rushing footsteps coming towards his room.

Jaxon turned to the left as a black blur rushed into his bedroom and tackled him on the bed shouting, "Jaxy!"

"Ugh, get off me," Jaxon groaned as he got a small figure off him revealing a five-year-old boy with a cream skin tone short maroon hair, and mint green eyes wearing a black shirt with shiny Eevee on it along with black pajama with Eevee paw prints pattern over them.

"Sorry, Jaxy, but come on get up Mom made your favorite breakfast!" Tyler exclaimed full of excitement."Don't tell me you forgot today is your tenth birthday."

Jaxon chuckled."Of course, I didn't forget little bro, now  come on so we can enjoy breakfast."

"Alright, I race you downstairs Jaxy!" Tyler shouted as he rushed out of the bedroom sticking his tongue out at his older brother.

'He is always so full of energy.' Jaxon thought as headed out of his room to join his family for his special birthday breakfast.

Jaxon arrived downstairs and saw a beautiful fair-skinned female around thirteen years old with shoulder-length light blue hair and blue eyes wearing a dark blue sleeveless jacket over a long-sleeved red shirt and light blue pants along with black socks watching some TV with Tyler. This was Ashley Chevalier the older sister of Jaxon and Tyler. However, their mother Clair was in the kitchen setting breakfast on the table, with a Jynx helping her.

"Good morning mother, and big sister," Jaxon greeted."Where father?" He asked.

"Good morning Jaybird," Clair greeted."Your father should be back shortly he left to get your birthday gift ready."

Jaxon nodded."I can't wait to see what Father has for me this year." However, his attention turned to his older sister as she spoke next.

"Morning little brother as you see I kept my promise to hold off going on my journey to Hoenn, until after your birthday," Ashley commented.

"I'm glad you did it wouldn't be a birthday without you," Jaxon said as he smiled at his older sister happily.

"Alright, come eat breakfast then start getting ready your friends Lisa and Austin will be here this afternoon," Clair stated.

"I make sure to be ready," Jaxon said as he walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table across from Tyler, just as Clair placed a plate of Dragonite-shaped pancakes with whipped cream and a side of french toast and eggs down in front of him on the table, as well as a razzberry smoothie."This looks delicious can't wait to see the cake you made me this year."

"You see the cake later on this afternoon," Clair stated."Now eat breakfast before it gets cold."

Jaxon took a moment to admire his plate savoring the aroma before diving in. His mother was a master when it came to cooking for special occasions.

"So how are feeling about today your finally ten years old?" Clair asked as she put another serving of pancakes down for Tyler." Are you excited to start your Pokemon journey next year with your best friends when you turn eleven?"

Jaxon nodded enthusiastically as he cut a piece of pancake and brought it to his mouth. The fluffy sweetness instantly flooded his taste buds, before he spoke," I'm pumped to begin my Pokemon journey next year and I'm sure Lisa and Austin feel the same, can't wait for next year."

Clair smiled warmly."I know you'll make us proud and become an amazing pokemon trainer, I'm sure of it."

Ashley leaned forward as she glanced at her younger brother."So have you decided on what region your first pokemon journey will be in?" She asked.

"I have been thinking about starting in the Kanto region," Jaxon replied with a smile.

"Ah, nice choice I remember my first time in Kanto, Clair said."It a nice region to start in not too large or far from home."

The kitchen grew quiet as everyone dug into their food, the anticipation of the day ahead palpable. Tyler finished his meal in record time and bolted upstairs to get dressed and ready for today, leaving the rest of the family minus their father to enjoy a more leisurely breakfast.

As Jaxon set his fork down, his gaze wandered to the family photo on the wall it was a picture of the whole family and two large pokemon behind the family was a Dragonite and the other was his father's  Kommo-o standing outside the pokemon gym. The image filled him with gratitude and determination. His parents' unwavering support, Ashley's teasing yet caring demeanor, and Tyler's boundless energy all inspired him to be the best trainer he could be.

Clair broke his reverie."After you eat breakfast and shower, help me tidy up the living room Jaybird. I want everything perfect for when your friends arrive."

"I understand Mom," Jaxon said, standing up to clear his plate."Thanks for the amazing breakfast."

"You're, sweetheart. Oh, and one more thing your father mentioned something about a very special gift this year," Clair added with a knowing smile.

Jaxon curiosity was piqued."Any hints?"

Clair merely winked."You'll find out soon enough as well see what I got you this year, doesn't compare to your father's but I believe you will still enjoy it."

Jaxon headed up towards his bedroom to get ready for his birthday celebration his stomach bubbled with excitement. Today wasn't just a celebration of his birthday, but a step closer to achieving his dream.

The festivities for Jaxon's birthday were set up as Jaxon back downstairs fully dressed out of his pajamas, with the help of his mother and older sister the house was transformed into a party space. Balloons shaped like Dratini and Pokeball streamers adorned the walls.

As they were finishing up with the final touches to the party, the front door swung open and Jaxon's father, David Chevalier a cream skin and leaned tone man with short red hair and green eyes entered the house and walked into the living room carrying a red rectangular and vertical shaped box. 

Tyler started bouncing around in excitement like a hyperactive Aipom as he saw the box in their father's arms.

"Dad! Your back is that Jaxy's present?" He asked full of excitement.

David's deep chuckle filled the room."Yes, it is, but it seems the non-birthday boy is more excited than the actual birthday boy. If Jaxon wants to open it now he can or we can wait until the guest gets here."

Jaxon felt his heart thudding with anticipation. He stepped forward his gaze fixed on the box."I'm ready to open it now."

David set the box on the table and nodded."Happy birthday, go ahead and open it."

Jaxon slowly lifted the top flap of the box and put his hands inside as he pulled out a purple incubator, which had inside a golden and black egg with pink spots all over it, and on top of the incubator was a great ball.

"Woah.." Jaxon whispered, awestruck."A pokemon egg this color is not one I've seen before, where did it come from?" He asked.

"This egg came from one of my pokemon," David said."It happened when I was away in Alola four days ago visiting a childhood, you have to wait and see what pokemon it is when it hatches."

"Look at that little bro," Ashley said with a smirk."You are on your way to being an official trainer as soon as that egg hatches."

Jaxon grinned gazing at his egg."Thank you, dad. I promise to take good care of my egg."

"I know you will," David said clapping his oldest son on the shoulder."I wouldn't have given you an egg if I didn't think you were ready."

In this chapter Jaxon from Blackthorn City wakes up on the morning of his tenth birthday, and sees the strong familial bonds between him and his family, his excitement for the future, and the supportive environment that fuels his dreams.
