Chapter 4: Registering for Inidgo League
Alex and Mitsuki finally returned to Viridian City, and we're ready to register for the Indigo League.
"Come on, Mitsuki, the Pokemon Center this way!" Alex grabs Mitsuki's arm in excitement.
"Alright, relax. I'm coming," Mitsuki said, freeing his arm and shaking his head.
"Sorry, I guess I got carried away there for a moment," Alex apologized.
"You're fine, Xander? I'm used to your excitement," Mitsuki stated.
"True. Anyway, the Pokemon Center is just up ahead of the building with the red roof," Alex said, pointing ahead in the direction of where you could see the top of a building with a red roof.
"Let's go then and heal or Pokemon and get registered for the league then," Mitsuki said.
Alex and Mitsuki then began walking toward the Pokemon Center.
~*~*~
Alex and Mitsuki walked into the Pokemon Center lobby, where they spotted tons of trainers and their different Pokemon.
"Hey Mitsuki, look at all the Pokemon, and geez, this place is huge," Alex said with an expression full of awe.
Both of the boys gaze around, getting accustomed to the relaxing atmosphere of the Pokemon.
"My father told me about the Pokemon Center before leaving for my journey. He said that Pokemon Centers are gathering places where trainers use them to rest between activities, share information, makes calls or send packages, and lots more. They always have lobbies like this with Tvs so trainers can watch their channels, and Nurse Joy runs the front desk and treats injured Pokemon. There is also a cafeteria for eating and cooking and rooms for Pokemon trainers to spend the night here," Mitsuki explained.
They started to walk over to the front desk.
"First, we should get are Pokemon heal up, and register for the Pokemon. Then call our parents to let them know we made it safely to Kanto. After all that, we can start making our way through Viridian City. We still have a few hours before it gets dark," Alex said.
Nurse Joy greeted them at the front desk. She had curly pink hair and wore a pink and white nurse outfit.
"Hello there, and welcome to the Pokemon Center," She greeted with a friendly smile on her face.
"Hello, Nurse Joy, could heal you are Pokemon?" Alex asked. "We were also hoping to register for the Pokemon league here." He said.
"Of course, I can. Just place your pokeballs here onto the tray," she said as she placed a small tray on the counter."As for registering, head me your pokedex so I can put it into this slot," She points at the place and screen next to her behind the desk.
"Alright, here's our pokedex," Alex said, giving Nurse Joy his pokedex along with Mitsuki.
"I'll get you both register right now," Nurse Joy said, placing the first pokedex into the slot.
"Alexander West from New Bark Town has been registered and eligible to participate in the Indigo League after earning the required badges," The computer said.
"Alright, you all registered Alexander," She said, heading back the Pokedex to Alex."Now for you," She then placed Mitsuki's pokedex in next.
"Mitsuki Hebi from New Bark Town has been registered and eligible to participate in the Indigo League after earning the required badges," The computer said.
"Both of you are registered now. You both have to earn eight badges to participate in the Indigo League," Nurse Joy said, heading Mitsuki to his pokedex. "You can put the badges you earn into these badge cases," She said, giving both of them a rectangular case, a blue and white one for Mitsuki and a red and black one for Alexander.
"Thank you," Alex said. "Here are our Pokemon. Please take good care of them," He then placed his Pokeballs onto the tray and Mitsuki's Pokeballs.
"I will. They should be ready in a bit until feel free to wait in the lobby until I call your names," She said as she took the tray and headed it to a pink Pokemon wearing a matching nurse's hat. It walked through the doors from behind the counter.
"Let's see," Alex took out his Pokedex and pointed it at the Pokemon.
"Chansey, the Egg Pokemon. Chansey is a kind Pokemon who shares its eggs with sick or injured people. A rare and elusive Pokemon that is said to bring happiness to those who manage to catch one."
"So that Pokemon called a Chansey is definitely a Pokemon for healing," Alex commented.
"Agree, now let's go call home. There is a phone available over there," Mitsuki said as he pointed to the only phone nobody was using.
"We could use our Pokegears to call, but I guess there's no point since we're at the Pokemon Center," Alex said with a shrug of his shoulders as he and Mitsuki walked over to the Pokemon Center.
"You can call home first; my mom might be at your house anyway; your mom and mine are good friends," Mitsuki said.
"Alright, I'll call my house first," Alex said, dialing his house.
The rings for a few minutes until a familiar voice answers the phone.
"Hello, West resident, may I know who is calling," Riley West said over the phone.
"Hi, mom, it's me, Alexander, your son," Alex said.
"Ah, Alexander!" She said as the screen changed to voice and video showing Riley's face. "How are you?" She asked.
"I'm doing good, mom," Alex replied.
"I'm good too, Mrs. West," Mitsuki said.
"Mitsuki, good to see you as well," She said. "So, have you boys caught any Pokemon yet?"
"Yeah, I caught myself a Sandshrew. I would show Sandshrew to you, but she is being healed at the moment."
"That's okay. I'll meet her another time. What about you, Mitsuki?"
"I caught an Ekans just like my father. Speaking of him, is my mom over there?"
"Ekans is not a bad Pokemon, and your mother is in the kitchen keeping an eye on the pasta I'm cooking. Both of your parents are coming over for dinner. Your father is still working, but I let your mom know you are on the phone."
"Thank you, Mrs. West."
"Alright, I'll talk to you later, mom. I leave Mitsuki to speak to his mom. Please tell father and Natalie hi for me."
"I will, Alex and Mitsuki. I will go get your mom right now," She said, walking away from the phone and towards the kitchen.
"I will be sitting over there on the empty bench waiting for are Pokemon to be ready," Alex said, walking over to the bench.
"Alright," Mitsuki replied.
~*~*~
Alex was sitting on the bench, looking at information on her new Sandshrew moves, which were all pretty good, and thinking about a nickname for his female Sandshrew.
Mitsuki then joined him on the bench after finishing his conversation with his mother.
"Xander, my mother, says hello and take care of yourself," Mitsuki said.
"Alexander and Mitsuki, your Pokemon, are healed and ready to go," Nurse Joy announced through the intercom.
Mitsuki and Alex both stood up and walked toward the front desk.
"Thank you," Both boys said, picking up their Pokeballs.
"You're welcome. Is there anything I can help you two with?"
"No, that was everything," Mitsuki said.
Alex and Mitsuki then stepped away from the front desk and left the Pokemon Center and towards the Viridian Forest.
~*~*~
Alex and Mitsuki, we're about to enter a large forest leading to Pewter City.
"This forest is pretty big, so it will probably be a few days until we reach Pewter City," Mitsuki said, looking at the map on his pokegear.
"I see. Well, better get started then," Alex said, getting ready to step into the forest.
"Hey, you in the teal jacket!" A voice called out.
Alex and Mitsuki turned around to see a boy the same age as Alexander and Mitsuki. He had short brown hair, hazel eyes, and fair skin. He was wearing a white shirt and black jacket with the word Pokemon on it. Along with white pants and a black and white hat with a Gengar. To finish off the outfit, he had on grey sneakers and a red and white backpack.
"You mean me?" Alex asked.
"Yeah, you, the name is Matthew, and I challenge you to do a battle two vs. two, meaning we both use two Pokemon," Matthew said.
"Sure, let's battle!"
