Chapter 10: Akamaru Trembles Gaara's Cruel Strength!
Emiyo's P.O.V
I, Kiba, Hinata, and Shino stopped after a while and gathered beneath enormous trees. Kiba grinned and put his hands on his hips and turned to Hinata.
"Okay! First, we search for the tower. Can you do it, Hinata?"
"Yes." Hinata nodded shortly. She brought her hands together in a sign and drew in a breath. "Byakugan!"
After a few minutes told us the direction of the tower.
"Alright so the goal is the tower," I said."The past plan would be to set a trap near the tower. The enemy most likely to go that way."
"Alright, but should we use as for the trap?" Kiba asked.
I then noticed leeches near the path to the tower and me and my team decided to use those as the trap.
Once the trap was set. Kim's and Akamaru both sniff the air.
Kimi and Akamaru both barked at the same time.
"I smell a group of three their close," Kimi said to me.
"Alright..." Kiba smirked and lowered his voice to a whisper. "Wasting no time, huh? Where are they, boy?"
I up at the tree where the trap was set when I heard a voice.
"Heh... what stupid kids." The Rain Genin chuckled to himself. "It's like they're begging to be found, standing in a conspicuous place like that."
"H-Hey!" His teammates blinked. "What happened? You're so pale."
He whimpered in pain, wobbling in place as a lump moved up through the back of his clothes and poked out of the collar of his shirt, revealing a giant leech.
"They sensed our presence." Another chuckled. "But they haven't grasped where we are."
'They are dumb they don't notice me looking at them besides they walked right into our trap.' I thought with a smirk.
The first boy suddenly froze in place, his skin losing its color and his lips turning blue.
"W-What the hell is that?!"
Dozens of leeches started to rain down from the canopy above and they screamed as the creatures covered their bodies and began to feed. The screaming echoed through the forest and they fell from the branch and crashed onto the ground. The leeches fought over their Genin, tearing into their flesh and feeding until they lost enough blood that they could no longer scream.
Hinata pursed her lip, shuddering at the sound, and Kiba and Shino turned in the direction of the trap.
"The Flying Leeches of the Leaf sense body temperature and perspiration, then, en masse, swoop down on their prey. If they continue to suck your blood for five minutes, you'll pass on to the next world..." Kiba crossed his arms with a smirk. "Using this knowledge, we set a trap on the path the enemies would use to escape."
"D-Damn it..." One of the Genin struggled to a stand, trying to pull the leech from his shoulder. He fell forward onto his hands and knees, and his eyes widened as his hand tugged on a wire.
They shouted as a net suddenly lifted them into the air and Kiba's smirk widened.
"That's one team down."
Kimi then jumped out of my pocket and took the scroll from the team and luckily it was earth which is the scroll we needed.
"Good it an earth scroll. We got both scrolls so off to the tower we go," I said taking the scroll from Kimi.
"Right," Kiba said.

"Yeah! This will be a piece of cake!" Kiba grinned as team eight moved quickly through the trees and pointed a thumb at himself. "After all, brains are most important in survival! Right, Akamaru?"
The small dog yapped in agreement as he jumped beside Kiba.
"Brains," Emiyo muttered."I'm the one who came up with the trap," she said.
Kimi barked in agreement as she jumped next to Emiyo.
"Heh. Lucky for us, the guys who got caught in that trap had an earth scroll!" Kiba laughed. "We'll be the first to the tower at this rate!"
"Don't get too full of yourself." Shino glanced over at him. "That's dangerous. No matter how small an insect is, it has to guard itself at all times. We have to pay attention to avoid coming across any enemies...This is safety."
"I know that!" Kiba frowned and turned to him. "As always, you're speaking in a way that's difficult to understand, bug-nerd."
Shino furrowed his brows as Kiba raced off ahead, and Hinata looked over at him.
"Um... b-but... what Shino said... he has a point."
"Yeah for once stop being so reckless," Emiyo said.
"I know! C'mon." Kiba rolled his eyes. "Don't you get on my case, too, sister and Hinata."
Hinata pressed her lips together. "Naruto... I hope nothing's happened to him..."
Emiyo rolled her eyes. 'He such an idiot.' She thought.
Akamaru yapped softly and Kiba furrowed his brows and sniffed the air, stopping on a branch and holding out his arms to the side.
Emiyo already picked up the scent and recognize the bloodlust and strange chakra she smells coming from the red hair guy she was next to in the first exam.
"Hey, you two. Stop." They stopped and stood beside Kiba and Emiyo, and he straightened and sniffed the air again. "We're bein' careful not to come across enemies, right?" He turned to Hinata and pointed. "Then, Hinata! Can you see one kilometer in that direction?"
"Mhm." Hinata's eyes followed his finger and she nodded. "Yes, I'll have a look." She stood and formed a sign, closing her eyes for a moment before reopening them again as the veins around her eyes bulged. "Byakugan!"
Her vision focused ahead and, through the trees, she caught sight of the red-haired Sand Genin standing in a clearing. "There's someone there."
Shino knelt and pressed his ear to the thick branch they stood on. "Evidently... there are six people..."
"Okay!" Kiba smirked and clenched his fists. "Let's go look!"
"W-What?!" Hinata deactivated her Byakugan with a jump and turned to him quickly, then swallowed.
"Kiba!" Shino stood and frowned at his teammate. "What are you saying? We're not doing that."
"I agree that just downright reckless," Emiyo said crossing her arms.
Kiba smirked, emphasizing his elongated canines. "The Proctor told us to bring one Heaven and Earth scroll as a pair. She didn't say to not take more than that." He held out his arms and chuckled. "If we take more, that means some other teams will be left out."
"B-But..." Hinata swallowed again and held her hand out.
"We'll just see what's going on at first." Kiba grinned at her. "If it looks too dangerous, we won't jump in for now reason. Well, enough talking; let's go!" He jumped ahead with Akamaru and Shino and Hinata looked at him.
"W-Wait!"
Shino crossed his arms and let out a short breath. "He's a type, that even bugs avoid."
"So true," Emiyo agreed.
"Yeah the type that I try to avoid also," Kimi said.
Hinata, Shino, and Emiyo followed behind until they caught up to Kiba, then quietly hid behind a thick cover of bushes. Akamaru began to tremble and whimper softly and Kiba looked down at him.
"What's wrong, Akamaru?"
"What's wrong?" Hinata glanced at Kiba. "You stopped suddenly."
"Akamaru suddenly got frightened." Kiba frowned slightly and the dog crawled into Kiba's jacket to hide.
"W-Why is that?" Hinata hugged her arms close and watched the small dog shaking.
"Akamaru can sniff out the level of enemy Chakra and tell his strength." He reached up to gently rub Akamaru's head. "But this is the first time I've seen him this scared." Kiba frowned and narrowed his eyes as he glanced ahead. "Those people over there aren't ordinary guys..."
'Yeah, there something about that red sand Ninja that not normal. Poor Akamaru he not strong enough like Kimi to deal with bloodlust.' Emiyo thought.

Emiyo's P.O.V
I narrow my eyes looking through the bush at the sand ninja on the other side standing across from a team of Rain ninja.
"Sand village kids coming to challenge us forthright." The Rain Genin with facepaint chuckled. "It's foolish."
Kiba narrowed his eyes as he watched from behind a thick bush and looked at Gaara. "What's that little guy thinking to get involved with those guys?!" Akamaru whimpered and buried his face in Kiba's shirt, and his eyes widened slightly as he looked down at the dog.
"W-What's Akamaru saying?" Hinata glanced over at him, and Kiba gritted his teeth.
I didn't listen to the rest of the conversation as I and Kimi kept on eyes focus on the red hair ninja as he glares at the rain ninja.
'There something about him that not right.' I thought.
I then saw sand grabbed the guy and squeeze him to death. That when I realized that blood smell been coming from the sand.
'So the sand is what smells like blood. That jutsu is so powerful.'
Time skip...
After witnessing the incident with that red hair sand ninja killing that guy with his sand we finally made it to the tower.
"Nobody's here?" Hinata looked around the tower's main floor as crickets chirped loudly outside under the moonlight, and Kiba laughed.
"We must be the first ones, huh?" Kiba said.
"No, I sensed someone a little while ago." Shino stuck his hands into his pockets.
"More importantly, is Akamaru okay?" Hinata reached over to gently scratch the dog's chin. "He's been scared ever since."
"Now that you mention it, what exactly did Akamaru say before?" Shino looked over at Kiba, who turned to look at him.
"Oh... Akamaru said that it was dangerous because that Sand kid would kill that big Rain guy."
"I knew there was something off with that guy since the written exam. While sitting next to him I and Kimi could smell a strong scent of bloodlust" I muttered. "But decided it wasn't my problem it still isn't to be honest I don't think he was going to kill us I think he was aiming for his brother," I said.
"I agree," Kimi said.
I then noticed the sand team from the incident that has now be a day and a half ago. The one wearing black was complaining about waiting for a day and a half now for the second exam to be over.
