Chapter 15: The Creature 8-5-16
Everybody hid within the trees and pried Merry wouldn't make any farther noises. Legolas, Gimli, and Sam all hide behind one of the huge Fangorn trees, and Aragorn, Boromir, Merry, and Pippin hid behind another. Aragorn tried not to move Merry to much as he peaked out onto all the orcs. There was only about 100 orcs which lead Aragorn to think Frodo wasn't with them. He saw no sign of Saruman either, which made sense too. Aragorn thought that Frodo was still in Orthanc, and if so they could get the key and him out.
"Boromir," Aragorn whispered.
Boromir looked up from Pippin. Aragorn looked from Merry to Boromir.
"You trust me?" Boromir whispered.
"Everybody deserves a second chance," Aragorn placed Merry into Boromir's arms, "You're good with them," he looked at Merry and Pippin.
Boromir took Merry and smiled, even though he didn't believe it.
"Pippin, take this," Aragorn said and handed Pippin a small knife blade down.
"I don't want this," Pippin said and wiped his tears away.
"Take it. It might be helpful later,"
Pippin took it and put it in his belt. Aragorn also put a knife into Merry's belt too. He had extras and thought they could use them.
"Let's go," Aragorn called to everyone else.
The Fellowship walked to the gates of Isengard. All the orcs where far away by the time they got up to the gates. They all walked into Isengard and it was completely empty and looked deserted. Boromir brought up the caboose as he carried Merry. Pippin clung to him too and didn't want to let go of his shirt. He was nervous about Merry and did have a fear of Isengard now that he has seen what Saruman would do.
Aragorn got to the main doors of Orthanc and pushed them open. He looked inside and it was only a black empty room. He held the door open for Legolas, Gimli, and Sam, but stopped the other three.
"Stay here and guard the door," Aragorn commanded.
Boromir nodded and stepped back.
"Thank you. Keep an eye on them,"
"Sure,"
Aragorn nodded and joined the others. Boromir sat down on the stairs. Pippin sat on the step next to him, but stayed quiet.
"I remember this place," Merry suddenly said.
Boromir and Pippin looked at him. His bright blue eyes where scanning the area around them. Pippin felt his forehead.
"I don't think he has a fever anymore,"
Merry's eyes stopped on Boromir's face.
"Boromir? How did you get here?" he asked, "Why are we here again?"
Merry still didn't know the plan. He had been asleep when Aragorn had explained it earlier.
"It's a long story, but we are going after Frodo," Boromir explained, "How is your leg?"
Merry looked at it and then said,
"It hurts real bad, but I as myself feel better than I did earlier,"
Boromir nodded and Pippin smiled for the first time that morning as he looked at Merry.

Down in the cells of Orthanc, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Sam searched for Frodo and the key. They each took a cell and dug around for the key in each. It was hard not having too much light. Aragorn was studying the ground in the dirt hallway with the cells on either side.
"Frodo was here," he said tracing his finger over the dirt.
He looked at the outline of a Hobbit track that was left in the dirt. Sam came over and gave a look too. Aragorn pointed to a patch of ground where there was nothing but kicked up dirt. There had been a scramble to get free.
"He tried to escape," Aragorn whispered.
They took more steps and Aragorn pointed to more footsteps.
"Then he ran," he explained as he pointed to how far apart the tracks where.
Aragorn and Sam followed Frodo's footsteps. They got to the end of the hallway and there were more kicked up dirt in front of a cell.
"There was another scramble before this cell," Aragorn said.
He looked up from the ground and into the cell the scramble was before. To his surprise, a hand reached out quickly. Aragorn dodged it, but Sam got grabbed by it instead. The creature pulled Sam in and slammed him against the cell door hard.
"Strider!" Sam called out.
Aragorn tried getting in-between the two, but got grabbed instead. Sam feel back. He took off his backpack and then grabbed Aragorn by his waist and pulled. Aragorn yelped as the creature in the cell bit his arm and fell back at the same time. Blood gushed down his arm, but he didn't seem to notice.
"Saves us! Please!" the creature cried.
Sam and Aragorn stood up quickly. Legolas and Gimli heard the commotion and started running towards them.
"What happened?" Legolas asked as he looked at Aragorn's arm.
"Saruman left a prisoner," Aragorn said, "Stay back, Sam," Aragorn commanded and made him backup to the opposite wall.
"Please helps us be free. Mean man locks us up and leaves us here to die," the creature spat.
From the dimness of the hallway, all they could see was the creatures glowing eyes and fingers gripping the bars from the door. Aragorn already knew the answer to this question, but he asked it anyway,
"What is your name?"
"What is our name?" the creature exclaimed, "It asked us our name. Our name?" there was a pause and then he continued in a deeper and darker voice, "Our name is... Gollum,"
A/N: Gollum is back!!!!
