Merida's POV

My job as the house slave was to cook and clean. When Alvin returned he would slap me around and head to his bedroom and hit Hazel. The night was the worst. I heard Hazel cry through the night and I would find my self crying too.

The next morning Hazel and I started walking towards the kitchens.

I motioned for something to write with.

"Do you know sign language? Because it would be much easier to understand you if you did." She said.

I'm going to have to thank mum for all those lessons one day.

(Yes I do, how long have you been here?)

"I've been here for about a month. I've been trapped here but I won't be here for long."

(Are you planning to escape.)

"No... He doesn't know that I can't bare children because of an injury I had in my past. Once he does I'll be dead, he'll capture some other poor misfortunate girl but at least I won't be suffering anymore."

Her words made me feel sad. This poor girl I can't even comprehend what she's been through. At least I got away,but if I didn't, I would probably be in her place.

(Don't worry when Hiccup comes back we'll set you all free.)

"I won't be counting on it but thanks though."

Hiccups POV

"You're not really going to teach them how to train dragons are you Hiccup?" Astrid asked.

"No, I just got to think of a plan where Merida is safe and the Outcasts can't control dragons."

"Good luck doing that. There's no way to do both." Said Snotlout.

"Thanks." Hiccup replied.

"Welcome." He said.

"Well there is one thing." Fishlegs said.

"What?" Hiccup asked.

"It's crazy but if you take her place she'll be safe...."

"There is no way we are doing that. It doesn't solve anything if one of our own is still held captive!" Astrid interrupted.

"Let me finish, you take her place. Promise them you'll stay on the island and teach then the ways of the dragon. Then as we sail off we'll come on the dragons and rescue you. It at least toothless will help." He said.

"Fishlegs that's a great idea!" Hiccup said.

Hiccup told his father of the plan and Stoick reluctantly agreed.

They headed off to outcast island once again. When they arrived they saw Merida who was chained to a post enabling her to move.

Alvin appeared and so did the rest of the village including the enslaved girls.

"We have a change of heart on our deal." Said Gobber.

"Oh really tell me, I can't wait to hear this." Alvin said.

"I will take the place of...." Hiccup started. Should he mention her name? Something in his stomach told him not to.

"I will take the place of the girl and teach you the way of the dragons and stay as your prisoner." He said

"Hmm interesting. But not worth it. You know I've had a change of heart too. I don't care about your silly little dragons or your girls. Instead I say we take your whole village out. Men charge!!!!" Alvin shouted.

Well I wasn't prepared for that.

Merida's POV

They began fighting at once. Only the teens had brought their dragons do we had a bit of an edge, but the Outcasts were strong and were starting to gang the upper hand.

I tried desperately in vain to move. I saw Hiccup fighting along side with Toothless. I saw Alvin beginning to approach him from behind with a club.

Oh no he's gonna knock out Hiccup!!

Come on Merida. Find your voice fund it!!

Nothing but a little gasp came out

I shut my eyes. Voices ran through my head.

"A princess should never go out alone."

"We have ways of making you talk."

"Take care of Cabbi for me."

"Don't worry you're going to be fine."

"If you want it back, you need to get it yourself. You can do it, you're stronger than you know."

"I do not care if you're Scottish or not you're my friend and I won't let anything bad happen to you."

I opened my eyes and just as Alvin was going to swing. I yelled loudly.

"Hiccup watch out!!!!"

Everyone dropped there weapons immediately in shock. Alvin and Hiccup were the most dazed of all. I had done it I had broken the curse. Though the look in Alvin's eyes told me that might not be a good thing.
