<<TIMESKIP>>♡♡♡♡♡[I AM GONNA WRITE THE KIRIKO PART IN A SMALL PARA. ENJOY THE MUSIC]

After catching the two Kirokos they revealed that both of them and the couple were a family and the one who would take them to the hunter's exam site. So all of them got there being carried by the Kirikos. It took a whole day for them to finally step on the firm ground. Flying surely did feel nice but walking was way better.
----------------------------×---------------------------

Zaban, as Dawn's booklet read, was quite astounding. It was packed with shops, restaurants, stalls etc. Dawn took note of a few stalls, which she might visit after the exam. Out of them was the food stall that sold cookies. Jars and Jars of cookies. She could almost feel herself drool over the chocolate chip cookies that had a dash of vanilla cream. Her stomach rumbled a bit, as she caressed it. She hadn't had any dinner, except for the apple and cookies she ate on the ship.

It was crowdy so, Dawn kept a firm hold on Leorio's coat tail, so she wouldn't get lost. As for Leorio, he didn't seem to mind at all. As long as the obnoxious brat didn't mess his coat, it was ok. The said 'obnoxious brat' was trying to find the building where the exam is being held. She noticed a really large building that stood out from the others . "Is this it???" Leorio voiced out her thoughts as he gazed at the tall, stylish building. Beside him, Gon gawked at it, his eyes shinning as usual. "They've come from the four corners of the world.." Leorio said as though he was hypnotized by the sight of it. "Courageous men, dreaming of becoming hunters, find themselves here." Kurapika said in admiration. Looks ...a bit sketchy. Dawn thought as she observed it. She looked at the Kiriko, who had disguised himself as a regular human, in question.

He shook his head as he pointed the other way. "No, not there . Here" Four heads automatically turned left. What welcomed their eyes was a small steak restaurant. The aromatic smell of crispy steak filled Dawn's nose and she almost floated off towards it. [Like in Tom and jerry] "All I see is a boring restaurant." Leorio said as his eyes went beady. He looked at the navigator annoyed. "Oi navigator! Is this some joke?! You want us to believe that thousands of candidates are waiting inside?!!!" Leorio asked, flabbergasted. The navigator smirked slyly, probably used to such questions.

"Precisely. No one could imagine that the place where thousands of hunter candidates are assembled is here." He explained as he went inside greeting the shopkeeper. Dawn who had unconsciously floated off, was checking out the menu. She drooled at the names of the dishes, she had never eaten before. "Ramen...so many ramen dishes....mmmm~..steak...Hamburger......Omu rice..." her mouth automatically started chanting.

While she was busy reading the menu, the navigator spoke to the shopkeeper. "What would you like?" The shopkeeper asked as he busily stirred the fried rice. "A steak." The kiriko said earning a gasp from Dawn. "Yay!!!!!" She cheered. Lovely!! A steak! yeesssss!!!!!!

The shopkeeper chuckled at her behaviour as it reminded him of all the kids who came there for food. "How would you like that cooked?" He asked. He was instructed to ask this, so he would know who were going to participate in the hunters exam. "Slowly rare." The navigator said as he smiled knowingly. The shopkeeper's eyes went wide as he glanced at Dawn and Gon, before he shook his head. "Ok. " He went back to cooking feeling slightly bad for the young children who were off to sign their death. He motioned his assistant to send them to the secret room.

"At the room in the back, sirs and madams." The assistant said as she led them to the back room. Dawn sniggered mischievously as she noticed the error. The others didn't seem to have noticed that, so they looked at Dawn as if she had grown a second head. The room opened and infront of them was a small table packed with food. Four chairs and only one door. On the table sat plates of potatoes glazed with warm butter and drenched in parsley, sandwiches, ramen, a steak that was properly cooked and some dessert and rice.

Dawn felt like a rabid dog. Her stomach growled in desperation for food. The other three looked at her startled, before they sweat dropped. The Kiriko grinned at them. "1 out of 10000. It is the proportion of candidates who got this far. You have done quite well for new candidates. Have courage, my little friends~ I would be pleased to be your navigator next year as well." The Kiriko said as he waved them goodbye and left. Dawn didn't- more like couldn't wait for the others. She was already sitting on the chair and cutting the steak with a knife. Her eyes resembled a hungry beast, and her fingers worked impatiently with the knife. She didn't even notice the room suddenly jolt and go down.

Gon sat next to her and ate some rice, watching her with a wry smile. Taking in a big bite of the steak, Dawn felt like she was in heaven. The steak was outstandingly tender and juicy and had a savoury taste. "UMAI!!!~♡♡♡♡" her cheeks flushed red in bliss, and her surrounding started to sparkle. Gon smiled at his friend's antics and chuckled. "Dawn, you are so cute!" He said as he poked her red cheeks. Dawn who heard him say that, choked. Coughing she pounded her chest and gulped down some water. Me?! Cute?! >□< Her face turned a rich tomato colour from embarrassment. Gon smiled innocently as he took a bite from the steak as well. "Mmmm~ Umai!" He copied, grinning toothily. Dawn's lip quirked upwards in mirth. If anyone was cute..then it was him. Dawn wondered if ever she had a brother, then would he be as cute as Gon? Would it be as fun as it is right now, with him? She smiled as she imagined a younger version of her, acting the same as Gon.

Kurapika ate the ramen while Leorio stuffed his mouth with potatoes. "These are good! The butter adds more taste to these potatoes!" He exclaimed as he picked a sandwich. Beside him Kurapika nodded, carefully setting the chopsticks down on the table, while wiping his mouth with a tissue. Dawn shot him a look of envy, for he ate so elegantly and way neatly than any girl she ever knew. On the other hand, Dawn ate like a pig. Her mouth was smeared with the sauce from the steak and mayonnaise from the sandwich. There were a few onion pieces stuck around her cheek and some lettuce around her elbows. Feeling self conscious she picked eight tissue papers and wiped off her mess.

(SmilingSnake_514:- you can never trust one tissue paper. Trust me, I know.)

He makes a way better girl than me. He would suit as a princess lol. Dawn mused as his table manners reminded her of princesses, she read about in books. "Say.......Why are so many people ready to do anything...to become hunters?" Gon asked out of nowhere. He had a look of wonder in his eyes, as he set his rice bowl down. Kurapika and Leorio shot him a look of disbelief. "You came this far....Yet you don't know that?!! Are you doing this on purpose?!!!!" Leorio yelled, as he poked his head.

"You see, Being -" Dawn zoned out the rest. There was no way she could listen to their lecture without falling asleep. Instead, she watched Gon in amusement, who was starting to look like a chameleon. She could see that he was regretting asking them that question. "So Gon?!!! What kind of hunter do you wanna become?!!!" Both the older men asked at the same time, glaring at each other. Gon shrunk back a bit as he looked around nervously, shooting Dawn a pleading look. She nodded her head from side to side and gave him a smug look. Sure, she was nice but she had a slightly sadistic nature.

Too bad Gon, too ba-

"What about you Dawn?!!!" Leorio and Kurapika asked her as soon as they were done with Gon. "H-huh?" She stuttered, taken aback. Behind them, Gon grinned and mouthed "Karma". The bluenette pouted at him before looking back up at the older men. "I am just taking this test to get the license so I can get into restricted places and-" she glanced at the green clad boy before continuing "-to make new friends. No other reason." She finished, scratching the back of her head.

Before the two could bicker anymore, the elevator stopped with a 'ting'. Dawn blinked and looked at Kurapika. "Since when did this room turn into an elevator?" The three males sweatdropped, sighing in defeat. The door opened and all four of them raised their guard up. Everyone in the room turned to look at the newcomers. Their eyes were judging them, to find if they were people to be looked out for. They were nothing like the weaklings Dawn met on the ship. Everyone was an expert. "It is dark here. Are we in an underground passage?" Leorio wondered as he checked the ceiling that was filled with pipes.

Dawn was both nervous and excited. She was excited because she was outside, enjoying her freedom and finally a step forward, to save her mother. She was nervous as there were possibilities of her failing. She didn't want to fail and let her sister down. Taking in a deep breath, she slapped both her cheeks. No! I can't lose focus now! Beside her Gon was gawking at the number of candidates. "I wonder how many people are here..."

"With you four, there are 405 candidates." A voice said. Dawn's head whirled towards its direction. A fat man hopped down from the pipes and walked towards them with a grin on his face. "Hi. I am Tonpa!!! Nice to meet you~" he greeted as he shook hands with Gon. "I am Gon!" Gon automatically replied back with his cheerful voice. Dawn who was watching them, with a scowl, looked down as someone tugged at her shirt. A green bean shaped man , dressed in a suit, was staring back at her holding out a tag. Dawn blinked and tilted her head as she took it from him. It seemed that the rest, too, got the tags. Each tag had different numbers, her's was No.56. Gon recieved No.405 whereas Kurapika and Leorio received 404 and 403. Dawn raised a brow. How come she got 56 ?? Dawn was about to call the bean shaped man for queries but decided against it.

Maybe I can use it to my advantage..

Nodding to herself, she focused back at Tonpa, whom she immediately took a dislike of due to his aura. He was introducing the other regulars. She took note of a few names- Geretta the huntsman, the Amori brothers and Hanzo. Geretta was an expert huntsman, according to Tonpa and Amori brothers excelled in teamwork. She wasn't sure about Hanzo being a ninja but she kept her guard up. Those three were going to be troublesome for Dawn, so she decided to keep an eye on them. As Tonpa continued on, he was interrupted by a blood curdling scream. It was filled with so much agony, that it made her head throb. Everyone turned in the direction of the scream.

On the floor was a man, on his knees, wailing in pain. He was missing both his hands. Instead of blood, only flowers sprouted and fell to the ground. His hands kept disappearing and the floor kept getting heaped with flowers. Standing tall infront of him was another man, dressed up as a jester. He had hot pink hair and clown makeup. He was extremely tall and even a fool could tell that he was strong. Crazy strong. He had a sadistic grin on his face, as he watched the scene joyfully. "He doesn't have any arms~♡. Just magic, ladies and gentlemen ~" he spoke. He had a sickly sweet voice that made Dawn tremble in her shoes.

Her mind got stuck on what he said. Magic. He used...magic. Her eyes widened in horror. What kind of magic was that??? She never read anything about this sort of magic. She wondered if people of this world could normally use magic..like her and her sister. The man whose hands were now completely gone, was still screaming. Such...a dreadful magic. "You have to be more careful.♧ And dont forget to apologise when you bump into someone◇." The jester continued speaking as his eyes turned icy cold. Dawn bit her lips. She wanted to know where he learnt that magic. Was he like her too? A non human magic user???? No...I shouldn't act too rash. She just saw what he did to that man. There was no guarantee that he wouldn't do the same to her.

"No. 44. Hisoka the magician. Last year, everyone said he would have won, but he almost killed a judge just because he didn't like him. He was disqualified..." Tonpa interrupted her train of thoughts as he spoke grimly. "A-and he is being allowed to retake the test, this year?!" Leorio stuttered shocked. Tonpa nodded as a matter of fact. "Sure! Judges change every year. The judges are the ones that choose the contents of the test. They all hold the power: if the judge says "it's ok"..No matter if the winner is a demon, or anything else, then it's ok. " he explained. There was no lie in his tone so Dawn noted this information in her brain. She did read that in her hunter's booklet, while she was in the restaurant.

"Last year Hisoka mutilated not only the judge, but 20 other participants that you won't see this year. Try to avoid him as much as possible." Oh dear.. Dawn paled a bit. She kicked the newly formed idea, of going up to him and asking about the magic he performed, far far away. As Tonpa spoke, Dawn noticed something odd about the atmosphere around them. Her eyes narrowed as her sharp ears, caught on to the whispers.

"There he goes again...Tonpa the rookie crusher. Pfft! He should be the one they should stay away from!"

Rookie...crusher?...

"Oh!! By the way...shall we drink to celebrate our meeting????" Tonpa suggested as he pulled out five cans out of his pouch. Dawn was the first to take the can from him. She didn't trust this man one bit and she felt it suspicious that he was handing out these canned drinks so readily. Opening it, she brought it to her lips, not missing the secretive sneer on the fat man. The top of the can touched her lips when she smelled the torturous scent of Laxative.

Something inside Dawn's body flared. She felt rage, a surging desire to rip the fat man infront of her to shreds. It had been a long time since she last felt this kind of dark anger. Luckily, she wasn't leaking out any bloodlust. Crushing the can in her hands, she let it drop to the ground. The juice poured out of the cracked sides of the can, some smeared Dawn's small palm. Her expression had gone cold and blank as she directed her gaze at Tonpa. "Dawn...why did you throw away the drink?????" Gon, who saw his friend crush the can asked innocently, tilting his head to the side.

Calm...down. Calm down. Dawn chanted in her head- But an image of herself drinking it and failing the exam, letting her sister down, and Gon, the very first person who wanted to be her friend, puking and suffering from dehydration, destroyed her efforts to calm down. "Gon." She greeted her teeth as she spoke. "This juice contains laxative. If you drink it, you will end up in the hospital or die from dehydration." Dawn snatched the can from Gon and crushed it, throwing it to the ground.

Leorio was startled as he stared down at the juice in his hand. He felt slightly ashamed for falling for such a cheap trick, whereas Kurapika, spilled the drink with an irritated expression. Had Dawn not noticed, the three of them would have ended up in the hospital. That was a close call.

Tonpa had a nervous breakdown and eventually, he fled the scene making up petty excuses. But Dawn was not done with him yet. Nobody tries to mess with her, let alone her friends. Taking in a deep breathe, she calmed her anger. The last thing she wanted was for her new friends to fear her. "Hey guys, I am gonna go explore. I will join you later when the exam begins!" Dawn said forcing on a grin at her friends. "Alright. But steer clear from Hisoka. He is more dangerous than he looks." Kurapika warned knowing full well just how curious this girl was. "And stay away from perverts! " Leorio added as he looked around in annoyance. He had seen a few of the contestants giving the poor girl disgusting looks.

"Ehhhh~ but aren't you a pervert yourself ?" Dawn teased as she poked his hand. "Sh-shut up!!!!- grrr! Why did I even worry about you?!!!!!" Leorio grumbled as he looked away. "Just kidding! Don't worry~ I will be careful. Besides I can always kick the pervs away." Dawn said cheerfully. Leorio shuddered at the memory of when she kicked him. He almost had his ribs shattered.

Waving her friends bye, Dawn wandered off to explore the place and hunt down the fat mouse, Tonpa. Oh she had beautiful plans for that human. While she was exploring she came across a bald man, whom she recognized as Hanzo, the 'ninja'. He was strong, Dawn could tell. He came forward towards the little girl, with a grin on his face. "This must stay between us, but I am actually a ninja!" He whispered, leaning down to her height. Don't Ninjas hide their faces?? -.-

Hanzo had been feeling bored and there was no one to speak to him. Most of the contestants were wary and suspicious of him. So, when he got the small girl's attention, he was pleased. "I want to become a hunter because I want to find the shadow's parchment 'The hermit's book.' I was told that it is in a place where ordinary people can't go." He continued talking. Finally, he had someone he could chatter with, till the examiner started the exam.

Dawn's eyes widened when she heard the name of the parchment. She had read about it in one of the books her mother had left behind. The shadow's parchment 'The Hermit's Book', one of the world's biggest treasure and secret, was currently in the possession of a reputed Yakuza family, Anarchists. Their location is almost impossible to detect and only a selected few ever knew about it. Some say, that place is the reapers home. She looked at the bald man, questioningly. Does he even know that? His continuous blabbering was already giving her the mother of headaches, so she did what most people did. She sneaked off, leaving him to his life preaching.

When Hanzo was faced with nothing but silence, he looked down and found that the small girl had left. His eyes twitched and his head dropped. Now he was going to get bored, yet again.

TIMESKIP:-

Dawn leaned against the wall, bored out of her mind. She expected this place to be interesting but it was the same as the ship! This place was filled with loud and stinking people. Sure they were experts, but they still stunk! In her mind, she punched an imaginary wall, hard. She was not warned that she would die of boredom here!

She let her gaze drop randomly on a beautiful (Snake:- ahem...when I first saw his pic I found his face quite feminine) white haired boy. Her eyes slightly widened when she realised that the boy was her age. Snapping back to attention, she pushed herself off the wall and made her way towards him. The closer she got, the more she noticed how attractive he was. His hair wasn't really white, it was spotless silver in colour. His royal blue eyes were alluring and they suited him perfectly. There was an air of confidence surrounding the boy and his cocky smirk confirmed it. He stood out a lot from the rest of the competitors.

Dawn came to a halt when she spotted Tonpa handing the Bishōnen the canned laxative juice. Her baby blue eyes narrowed in fury and her voice let out a deep growl. Seems like the fat man didn't learn his lesson. Cracking her knuckles, she advanced towards Tonpa, sneakily.

"Worried?" The boy's voice made Tonpa drop his devious grin. The silver haired boy had narrowed his eyes at Tonpa, in a mischievous manner. "Laxative doesn't work on me because I have trained myself. It is not a poison that will kill me~" The way the boy ended the sentence sent chills down Dawn's spine. Tonpa gulped wondering how the boy drank the juice without hesitation. That brat didn't even know what product I put into the juice.. yet.. A smirk stretched across his face. Interesting...

Sadly, his devious plans were put to a stop when he felt a terrifying presence behind him. A sharp pain on his head made him drop to his knees and yell in pain. Behind him was the long blue haired girl, standing tall. She had a very evil smile on her voice and the way she cracked her knuckles made Tonpa aware of all the pain he would recieve if he stayed there any longer.

"That's what you get when you try to trick other's with your dirty tricks. I have been meaning to do this-no..I have something more planned." She rubbed her hands together thinking of all the torture methods she could use on him. (Snake:- Ya know what? Karma and her can become best sibling duo for their sadistic nature~) Having had enough, Tonpa got up and dashed away as fast as his fat legs could take him. Dawn blew raspberries at his running figure, chuckling a bit to herself. Satisfied with her work, she jogged back to where she left Gon and the others. They must be worried sick because she had been gone for quite a while.

In her sadistic moment, Dawn forgot about the silver haired boy, who was now watching her with interest. He had noticed her approach him before and had ignored her. He didn't wanted to speak to any girl because they were all crybabies and were always clingy. He remembered a few girls he came across while conducting his family business and boy they were noisy. They were wimpier than babies! Luckily, a few of them were his targets and he didn't feel any regret when he killed them.

While drinking the canned drink, he took note that she had changed her target to Tonpa for some reason. The skillful way she sneaked behind Tonpa was impressive. Like him, she didn't make any sound. He almost burst out laughing when she punched his head. The grin on her face was eerily similar to his mother, which caused him to shudder a bit. He could almost see her plans and promises of torturing the fat pig.

When Tonpa ran away, Killua decided to finally approach her. Maybe he would give it a try and talk to her and if she became too clingy, he would just ignore her or knock her out. Nodding to himself, he raised his left hand to call her, but before he could speak, she turned on her heels and jogged away. Hah? That wasn't normal. He felt slightly pissed at how easily she forgot that she was approaching him in the first place. What an airhead..hmph!

His eyes twitched as he followed her. She was shorter than him and was easily able to vanish into the crowd. The blue eyed boy scratched his head, his mouth remained sulky. Right when he turned around a corner, he spotted her ridiculously long blue hair. He quickly closed in the distance and tapped her shoulder. "Oi"

Dawn turned around, confused. Her blue eyes faced another set of blue eyes that were bluer than hers. It was that boy..she saw earlier. She raised a brow at him, tilting her head, questioningly. "Your name. What is your name?" He asked adjusting his hold on his skateboard. She observed him a bit, but since he was genuinely curious, she smiled. "Dawn. My name is Dawn."

The boy, raised his brow when she didn't give her full name, but decided to ignore it. "What's your name?" Dawn asked him as she turned around fully. The silverette was begrudgingly taller than her by 4 inches, so she had to tilt her head upwards to fully face him.

"Killua." He simply answered, flashing his signature cocky grin. Dawn chuckled at his confident attitude. The bluenette never understood why boys felt the need to show off or act tough infront of girls. It was quite funny in her perspective, if she were to be honest.

"So Killua, you  wanna tag along? I am searching for my friends~" Dawn asked as he adjusted the straps of her small backpack. Killua nodded, seemingly startled by something. Just then, a sharp alarm echoed throughout the tunnel. The blue haired girl winced as her ears throbbed in sheer pain.

RIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIRIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lavender haired man suddenly appeared out of nowhere carrying an alarm clock. He had a thin long moustache and no mouth. Hold on a second! No mouth?!! Dawn stared at him in bewilderment. The clock kept ringing till the man shut it off. The blue haired girl finally heaved a sigh of relief as her ears, that were still ringing, finally adjusted back to the surrounding.

"The time for the reception is over." The man bowed as he spoke. "Well, we will begin with a short verification. It is an extremely difficult exam. Sometimes you can miss a chance and end up hurting yourself, or can simply die..." he walked around eyeing every contestant, with eyes that held great depths of wisdom and knowledge. He paused, ceasing his walk. "There are moments, like you saw a while ago...where we get irreparably hurt in an accident with companions. " the lavender haired man's eyes were locked on Hisoka, the magician. "There are things that cannot be avoided. Therefore, those who accept these risks, please follow me. Otherwise, please exit via the elevator behind you."

Dawn looked around to check if anybody did leave but, nobody moved from their place. They all had the same look of determination on their faces. Quite brave huh.

The 'no-mouth-moustached-man' nodded, slightly impressed. "Very well then." He turned around and started striding ahead in a very weird walking style. It took a few seconds for others to snap out of their daze and follow the strange man. Dawn slapped both her cheeks again, earning a weirded out look from Killua. "Why did you do that???" He asked raising a brow causing the girl to giggle. "Excitement!" Was all she said before following the lavender haired man with Killua close behind. Yosh! Here I go! Watch over me, Midori!
