Out of the bushes a figure stepped out. Her black cloak had a silver emblem.
"I never expected to bump into you...Lòng Qì." The person spoke. Her voice was familiar to Lòng Qì. How could she forget this person...This person who killed her siblings....The old dragon gritted her teeth as she spoke that person's name.

"...Zea."
(I did a last minute change with brother to siblings)

(This incident happened many years ago)
The dragon knew that it was done for. It was surrounded by it's sworn enemy, the Resalder. It's black gigantic head swayed back and forth, trying to break free from the restraints that were tied around it's neck. The more the dragon resisted, the further it tightened.
"Tsk tsk tsk. You should give up, YīnYĭng. You have nowhere to run~" a voice, as melodic as death itself, cooed in a sickeningly sweet manner, earning a blood chilling growl from the majestic creature. The other members of the Relsader made way for their leader, to step up. A woman, in her late 30's walked with an erect posture, upto the Dragon that was pinned to the ground, carrying a massive sword. Her lips were tugged upwards in a horrible grin, that displayed her insanity. Her eerie scarlet hooded robe swayed in the wind, carrying the disgusting odor of blood.
The Dragon's, a.k.a ,YīnYĭng's growl turned to a threatening snarl when she came closer and closer. The other hunters maintained a safe distance from the dangerous dragon, afraid that it would break free and rip them all with it's claws. "Now now...don't be like that~♡ If you tell me where your siblings are, I will let you go~~~♡" she bribed as she crouched low enough to meet it's eyes. Which she never planned to do.
"Never!!!...Even if I lose my life, I shall never give away the location of my kin!" YīnYĭng roared, raising his head as high as he could. The majestic black dragon spoke the language of the dragons, Drugaia. It was an ancient language known to only Dragons and very few humans who have a lot of wisdom. The leader of the Resalders, sighed tapping her foot on the rocky surface. "Dragons and their pride." She started sardonically. "When will your kind learn to give up and show cooperation?~ Well, they cannot hide much longer." Her tone dropped and the temperature dropped with it as well. Her golden eyes narrowed in glee as she slowly unsheathed her sword. "I had been planning on adding you to my army...but now..I really want to put you into my collection~♡♡♡" The wind blew her hood away revealing her white hair that had specks of maroon in it. The Resalder rose to her feet, her malicious shadow growing bigger and bigger due to the setting sun, shadowing the dragon. With her sword raised high, she let out another sinister laughter before bringing it down at the dragon.
Time slowed down. YīnYĭng closed his eyes as a memory of him and his siblings playing together flashed in his mind. Just yesterday they were enjoying the newly grown flowerbed, running around chasing each other happily.. and quarreling sometimes over fruits..yet now...
A lone tear slipped past YīnYĭng's eyes, dropping to the bare land. He didn't want to say goodbye that soon. He wanted to see his kin..once more...he wanted to see-...to see his other half...his beloved twin sister...
Ah...
He never got to give the beautiful Osnell flowers to his precious sister...
His beloved sister...
Forgive...me...Lòng Qì.....
..my..fellow siblings.....I leave her in your care now....
Please protect her...for I shall...depart now.

The sun set down the horizon as the purple and black hues began spreading across the once hazel blue sky. The shadows stretched, eating away the fragments of light, completely engulfing the forest in its obsidian cloak. The hunters had long left the forest, leaving it pin drop silent.
Not a single hoot of an owl or the howling of wolves was heard. None of the animals moved from their spot. The soft rumble of thunder signaled the arrival of rain. Drop by drop, the rain began to fall, mourning for the death of its beloved friend. Slowly the wolves joined the rain's sorrow, their anguished howls echoed down the entire forest. The wind howled like a ravaging beast, violently rocking the trees. A cackling thunder boomed across the sky and shook the ground, almost drowning their woeful cries. The birds joined their mournful music and sang along, at the top of their voice.
They knew their dearest King was no more.

The animals never stopped their cries, even when they were at their limit. Eventually they all succumbed their pieces of life at the hands of death. Without their king, they had lost their will to live.

Somewhere near the western region in the Forest Feirra:- (a few minutes before the tragic demise of YīnYĭng )
Six Dragons busily trekked down the mountains, in their passive form, with magical beasts in tow. The one leading the magical beasts was the 2nd oldest amongst the dragons, Rugaius, King of the fire element and ruler of the forest, Feirra. He was dressed up in golden robe which complimented his blazing china-red hair colour. It was decorated with fresh orange embroideries in the shape of fire. Over his chest he wore a scarlet armor that had a Phoenix style bird on it. There was an air of authority and dignity with a hint of rashness, around him, which proved his position as the protector. His unwavering will and determination, enhanced with his protective nature over his companions and people, was what drew the magical beasts towards him. They respected him and his every decision and were always ready to fight alongside him.
Behind him was his younger sister, Flaeria, the queen of the Earth element and ruler of the forest, Narava. Her long sun kissed golden locks were braided behind her with flowers adoring it. She was dressed in lime green robe that had small leaves around it, as border. Flowers of all kinds decorated her long sleeves which glowed a faint golden colour upon coming in contact with the slowly setting sun. On her head sat a gorgeous crown made from flowers and vines that gave off an alluring sweet scent. Flaeria was the 3rd oldest in her family and was considered the most calm and gentle. Her kindness towards every life form no matter how big or how small or how much their worth or what their race, knew no bound. She loved everyone equally.
[A/N- Snake:- I would be delighted if anyone ever drew her. She is the most difficult character to ever draw! Too pretty!>□< TuT-
Fact!!!:- Flaeria does loves humans unlike her brothers and sisters and she believes in second chances though she never had the chance to give them any xD because her siblings had already dealt the humans off. But Resalders were the only beings that never came under that category. ]
Next to her stood the 4th oldest, Aquaria, queen of the water element and ruler of the forest Agaira. She was dressed in electric blue robe with short dual coloured sleeves, i.e, electric blue and olympic. Beautiful small shells hung around the end of the sleeve giving off the salty smell of the sea. Around the hem of the robe, were sea weeds sewn with pearls and shells. The cloth from down her waist had a hint of purple which gleamed mysteriously, like stars . Her prussian wavy blue hair was left loose and it danced in the wind, like sea waves. Aquaria was the most composed and reserved dragon in her family. Her patience knew no bounds which made her likeable (after Rugaius) among the magical beasts.
Staggering behind the earth and water dragon was their younger brother, Alizeh. He looked completely out of breathe and he ocassionaly stared off at the orange sky; his short silver hair softly caressed by his beloved element air. Alizeh was the 5th oldest and was the king of the Air element and ruler of the forest, Perio. He was dressed in a sleeveless pearl white robe, that was fastened with a red sash around his waist. A cream coloured cloak was tied around his neck that had feathers sewn together, with silver pearls as ornaments. The entire cloak gave off the illusion of giant wings. Dissimilar to his siblings, Alizeh was extremely childish, a bit cowardly and very irresponsible. He wasn't the type to take responsibilities and like the element air, he loved his freedom. He treats everyone as his family and as an equal, like Flaeria, which made up for his flaws.
"Here, take my hand, sister Lòng Qì. The mountain is very rocky!! " He turned around stretching his hand for his younger sister.
Lòng Qì, the 6th dragon and the youngest, queen of the spirit element and ruler of Luquanis, took the outstretched hand. Her long white hair that had been set loose sparkled like snow under the slowly darkening sky and stood out the most. Lòng Qì wore, a high necked, long sleeved golden robe that had simple Phoenix shaped borders with feathers sewn around its edges. Unlike her sisters, she wasn't too fond of ornaments and jewelleries, instead she loved armors like Rugaius. Lòng Qì was well known for her extremely short temper and brash nature. She could go from calm and collected to completely worked up. She is very responsible and loyal to her kin and her people and would not hesitate to give up her life for them but she isn't very fond of socializing and often tended to keep to herself.
"Why isn't Brother YīnYĭng here yet? Do you think he ran into some trouble???" Lòng Qì found herself asking.
Out of all her siblings, she was the closest to YīnYĭng, who was her twin brother. Both of them were of the same age and same element, due to which he was also the 6th youngest. YīnYĭng ruled over the forest named Escuro and was known to be the opposite of Lòng Qì. Unlike her brash and angry nature, he was extremely calm and docile and unless threatened, he wouldn't hurt anyone.
The reason why they ruled over two different forests was because of their element. The spirit element was a forbidden element which was only heard of in legends. It was divided into two parts, ie, light and dark. Lòng Qì's affinity with light was the most, whereas her affinity with darkness was around average, so she ruled over Luquanis. On the contrary, YīnYĭng's affinity with darkness was the most whereas his affinity with light was below average. Both siblings were feared by the magical beasts because of their attachment to darkness which was considered as the demon element.
"He must be on his way here. Come on, we must get to the outskirts of this kingdom before the Resalders get here. It seems like it will rain soon.." Rugaius said as he kept walking without looking back.
The hazel blue sky slowly darkened as the sun set completely. Thick black clouds swallowed all the white clouds from the sky and the temperature dropped.
On his way here...?...
Lòng Qì wasn't convinced. She had a feeling that something bad was going to happen, like she was going to lo-
Forgive...me...Lòng Qì.....
Thunder boomed in the sky and Lòng Qì came to a halt. The air around her turned heavy and suffocating. Her eyes widened. Small droplets of water trickled down her chin, steadily dampening her hair.
PANG!!!!!
A tormenting pain made it's way into her heart, knocking her down to her knees. It was almost like something was tearing her heart apart! She clutched at her head that felt numb and the noise from outside faded out and got replaced with a cringey ringing sound.
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!
She didnt realise that she was howling in pain nor did she notice her siblings shaking her frantically trying to snap her out of it.The magical beasts were huddled behind the fire dragon scared to death.
A moment passed, then another. By the time the pain slowly subsided, it was raining heavily and Lòng Qì was left panting and trembling.
"Sister?! What happened?! Are you ok?!!" Aquaria was the first to break the silence. She held onto her younger sister's shoulders, trying to calm her down. The water dragon couldn't understand what made the spirit dragon howl like that. Lòng Qì was a very brave dragon and nothing in their kingdom scared her. For her to be trembling like this ,was enough to pass the message that something grim had happened to YīnYĭng.
Lòng Qì burst into tears startling her siblings, for she rarely cried. Her hand clutched at her bosom, her sobs turning louder.
Loss.
She felt a loss. She felt the loss of her brother's mana. She felt the loss of his presence.
Gone.
He was gone. Her beloved brother was gone forever.
"Gone!!!" She howled. Her voice held tremendous pain, which finally made the rest realise what had happened. "He is gone! " Lòng Qì bent low, her head almost touching the earth, the turmoil in her heart worsening.
Aquaria hugged the spirit dragon, her own heart shattering to pieces, as tears smeared her face. Flaeria fainted, the shock too much for her. Beside her, Alizeh just stood frozen. The situation still hadn't dawned upon him. We...were supposed to have picnic today..together. But why...why did this had to happen..? He was stuck in denial. This wasn't supposed to happen...His desperate eyes trailed towards the fire dragon.
Rugaius felt his heart drop. The little dragon that he had raised alongside the rest, was gone. The staff that he was holding, dropped from his hand and clattered to the ground.
Why?
Why always them? Why couldn't the humans let them be?! What had they ever done to them?! Why do they always want everything that the dragons had?! Rage overcame the sorrow in his heart as he growled in anger.
Unforgivable...
He would never forgive them.
They will pay.
____________________________________
By midnight, all the dragons and the magical beasts found themselves in the outskirts of the kingdom. They had managed to travel all the way there safely without any trouble. The border separated their kingdom from the kingdom of the 'immortal' magicians, that lived in the west.
The magical beasts quickly crossed the border, that was protected by a seal to keep the Resalders out, - First the Cubs, then the females and lastly the males. They turned their heads around waiting for their kings and queens to follow but they stood behind silently. The beasts knew how devastating it had been for the dragons to loose their brother. They had such a strong bond with each other and even though the magical creatures were scared of the King of Escuro, they never really hated him. It was the dark power that scared them, not the dragon himself.
The dragons were talking among each other, their faces ranging from remorse to anger. For what seemed like eternity they finally turned around and walked towards the border. The queen of Luquanis, was literally dragged by the queen of Agaira, for she seemed against the idea of leaving the forest.
"No sister. We cannot go back there anymore! Try to understand...we-...even we don't want to leave but we have no choice! " Aquaria tried to reason with her younger sister whose scowl grew darker. "We are dragons! We are not supposed to abandon our kin! Atleast let's get his body so we can pay our final respects to him!" She yelled, already losing her temper. "And let his sacrifice go in vain? I can't allow that. He gave his life to protect all of us." Rugaius spoke sternly, masking the anger he was feeling, deep in his heart, towards the Hunters. Alizeh was strangely silent and Flaeria looked like a wilted flower as the two of them had always been weak at heart.
Lòng Qì hissed in frustration. What if they were too late to get his body back? What if those Resalders mutilate her beloved brother's body? Just thinking about that made her heart shatter back again. Tears threatened to spill down her cheeks, as she looked at Rugaius, her eyes scrunched pleadingly.
"We will get him back, I promise." Rugaius placed his hand on top of her head as he leaned down to her eye level. Lòng Qì knew he wasn't lying; he never lied whenever he looked directly into other peoples eyes. "But first, we must request for reinforcement from the neighbouring kingdom. " The spirit dragon nodded slowly, as her older brother wiped the stray tears trailing down her cheeks. "Come on. We must hurry. I can hear them close." He motioned her to cross the border first, which she did obediently.
"Brother Alizeh, you are next." The king of Feirra gave a soft push to the king of Perio to start moving. The air dragon staggered like a zombie, his eyes still wide in disbelief. He felt like he was in a very bad dream and when he would wake up, everything would be fine. Right when he was about to set his foot on the other side of the boundary, his face hit an invisible wall. His eyebrows rose in confusion as he lifted his hand and touched the force that was keeping him from crossing the boundary.
"A...wall?" His sweet voice came out rather raspy. He looked back at his brother in confusion who tried to cross the border as well. "What is going on?...What is this..wall?" Rugaius tried to shatter whatever invisible wall there was, by punching it, but it was of no use.
From the other side(let's call it left from now on~) of the barrier, Lòng Qì tilted her head in confusion. "What are you both doing? Come on! Didn't you say they were close??!" She yelled impatiently. Aquaria and Flaeria tried to get there when her brothers failed, but the wall blocked them too.
The booming sound drew closer and closer and the dragons that were outside the border could see the flames rising from the forest swallowing everything in it's way. They grew restless, especially Rugaius who was silently panicking.
"Drakain Rugai!- Elemus Feirra!" A magical circle appeared as Rugaius's mouth erupted in flames. The roaring jet of fire hit the invisible wall at full power but it was in vain. "Drakain Rugai!- Elemus Agaira!!!!" Aquaria tried to do the same but the result was the same. From the other side Lòng Qì mirrored her siblings with her own element. "Drakain Rugai!- Elemus Luquanis!!!"
Alizeh watched his siblings, his eyes shrinking in realization. "We...we...are trapped..." he mumbled. Before the dragons could say anything, a huge blast sent the trees, that were camouflaging them, flying. Hundreds and hundreds of Resalders stood ready, armed with weapons that the dragons had never seen before. Infront of them was their leader, dressed in a scarlet hooded cloak.
"Found you~♡" she cooed.
Her voice sent chills down Lòng Qì's spine. The woman reeked of fresh blood, some staining what appeared to be her white hair. Her eerie golden eyes glowed in the darkness, reminding the great beasts of a grim reaper.
"Human." Rugaius hissed standing protectively infront of his siblings. This was bad, very bad. There was nowhere to escape and he didn't had enough time to activate a barrier. They couldn't fly either, for the barrier covered the sky as well. They really were trapped.
The Resalder simply tilted her head upwards, letting out a dark chuckle. Her voice was like a blade- sharp and deadly. She advanced forward with long strides, almost like a snake. "Stand back mortal! Or I shall burn you to ashes!" Flame erupted from the fire dragon's hands as he stated his warning.
"Maybe I should start with the weakest one~♡" she hummed, as her eyes landed right on Alizeh. The air dragon's feet felt rooted to the ground, when his eyes landed on the weapon the woman had in her hand.
Syapthora.
"Over my dead body!!!" Flames consumed Rugaius as his body transformed to it's original form. "Try to break down that wall!! I will hold them back!!!" He barked out the orders as his burning wings extended, daring the Resalders to come any closer.
The other dragons turned around and kept hitting the barrier as best as they could, with high level of spells. From the left side, Lòng Qì was assisted by the magical beasts, but no matter how much they tried it was in vain. But..how?!!!
"You cannot break the wall, my beautiful dragons. I had predicted your movements hours ago~ The seal was quite easy to tamper with~♡ " she spoke as she watched the majestic beasts, trying to break down the wall desperately, finding it extremely entertaining. Just like a bunch of lizards trying to escape a glass box~
"Why are you doing this to us?!!!" Aquaria growled, her eyes full of hate.
"Why?" The white haired woman tilted her head, her pupils slowly dilating. "Isn't it simple?" Her tone dropped. "It's because of your majestic form my lovely dragon~♡ You beasts are so unique and rare, it just makes me wanna keep you all...be it be dead or alive!..." she shuddered in glee.
"Ohhhhh~ it is so much fun to hunt you creatures down, though! It's a pleasure watching such powerful beasts writhing in pain, languidly dying-" the woman paused as she tapped her chin. " I want to see more..." she muttered quietly, her eyes widening. "I want to see more...more blood." Her voice rose, her eyes almost bulging out. "Blood...I want to see blood!!!" She laughed, unseathing her sword in the process. "The last one didn't bleed much before it died! This time I will make sure to drain your bodies dry of blood."
Her blood thirsty eyes landed on Alizeh, who stood hidden behind Rugaius.
"I will start with you."
Without giving the dragons any time, she jumped straight, her swords raised, ready to cut anything in her way. The other members of Resalder followed after her, firing away bullets. Rugaius used his flaming wings to swat away the bullets and with his claws punched the woman from getting anywhere near his siblings. The white haired woman simply got up dusting off dust from her cloak before diving straight at Rugaius again.
Behind Rugaius, Alizeh trembled in fright; He was scared. He had never been the brave one, and being in such a situation was a first for him. Everything around him went in slow motion. Flaeria was using her earth magic to protect the left side whereas Aquaria was providing both defence and offence. Rugaius took the front, as the vanguard. Behind him Lòng Qì used every bit of her magic to try and tear the wall down. They were outnumbered. He knew they stood no chance....not with that poison.
But..
His hands clenched together tightly as a wave of shame hit him.
They are working so hard...risking their lives....
Yet...
Yet!!!...
There he was cowering like a baby.
Why....why can't I....battle like them....
His legs wouldn't move no matter how much he tried. He punched it, pinched it, dug his nails in it, but it wouldn't move. He felt like a bird trapped in a cage.
Why am I so USELESS?!!!!
A defeated roar, snapped Alizeh out of his thoughts as his older brother crashed to the ground bleeding from gaping deep wounds. Around him were electrical ropes, that kept him from getting back up again.
What happened...?
His eyes trailed towards his sisters who too were tied down from head to tail, rage evident in their eyes. The rope, he knew, did something to his siblings, for they looked drained out.The pale woman giggled like a maniac as she peeled off her sword from Rugaius, earning a growl from him. "Now stay down like a good boy. You will be next after your little brother. "
No...
Alizeh's eyes widened.
No....
He had to do something. His siblings...that woman was going to kill his siblings. He can't let her do that.
Something...
Wind started gathering around the air dragon as he lifted his head, eyes filled with newfound determination.
This time, it's my turn to protect them!
The wind started swirling around, the current getting stronger and stronger. It surrounded his siblings and himself forming a tight barrier, throwing the Resalder out. The outside of the Tornado spiked, as blades of wind were sent flying at the hunters at full speed, killing hundreds of them.
"Drakain Spix Gail!!!!:- Elemus Peiro!!"
He won't be useless or scared anymore. He will save his siblings.
An orb formed around his chest as he roared, strengthening the wind with all his strength. Behind him he leard the wall crack down and shatter to bits and Lòng Qì yelling for him and the others to get in. Rugaius had mustered up all his strength to snap the ropes, and helped his siblings break free from it as well.
Alizeh couldn't break his concentration, if he would then they would all die. "Go!! I will be behind you!" The three wounded dragons, hesitantly crossed the border, staggering a lot, wearily. They had changed back to their passive forms due to the severity of their wounds. Rugaius stretched out his hand for Alizeh to take.
"Alizeh!"
The air dragon sighed. He managed to protect his siblings. He managed to keep the hunter-
She was infront of him.
She was standing infront of him.
"Good good. I thought you were weak..but you are actually strong!!!"
He couldn't hear his siblings's frantic cries. He felt numb from fear. The border was behind him....but his legs wouldn't move.
I....
The painful realization struck him.
I'm....going...to..die...
He shakily turned his head at his older brother, tears spilling down his cheeks. His lips trembled, as he stretched his hand at the fire dragon.
"Brot-"
He never got to finish his sentence. His body fell to the ground, blood pooling underneath him. The tornado died out and everything came to a standstill. Alizeh's silver hair was drenched scarlet, as the necklace he wore around his neck clattered to the ground, after his head.
"ALIZEH/BROTHER!!!!!" The dragons screamed.
Rugaius, who was in no state to stand or walk, crawled towards his deceased brother, mourning.
"Ali..zeh........" Rugaius wailed. He lost another sibling....he couldn't protect them..
"What a beautiful sight!!!!" The Resalder laughed as she stomped at his limp body, with her foot. "Blood! So much blood!!! KYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! "
The more she stomped at the body the more blood oozed out.
"Stop...it.." the fire dragon growled looking up at the beast that killed his brother. He wanted to kill her. He wanted to annihilate this devil. "Stop it..!" He grabbed her foot, as his palms erupted in fire, burning away her leg. The woman hissed as she glared at the older dragon.
"Tsk tsk. You are getting annoying..." she said darkly. "Maa maa...you are next anyway...which means more blood~♡" She snickered. She raised her swords ready to get her next prize. Before she could, wild vines stopped her in her tracks as more of them wrapped around her waist and legs. A sphere of water gathered around her encasing her inside, in an attempt to drown her.
"Not so soon mortal.." the earth dragon panted. She was already feeling the after effects of mana depletion, but she kept herself straight. Next to her stood Aquaria, her eyes glowing blue as she kept the sphere around the hunter. "Lòng Qì....run away." She spoke. Her voice shook from the heavy emotions, she had tried to suppress, as her lips tugged upwards in a bitter smile. "We will hold them back..as best as we could. Run away.. with our people." She had given up the hope for living.
Lòng Qì couldn't believe her ears. Her siblings...wanted her to run away? They wanted her to abandon them? "No..." her voice came out squeaky. She shook her head denying her request. "I can't!-"
"You have to!" Flaeria screamed, her mana flaring up. A yellow orb formed around her chest as it grew larger and larger. "Atleast...live for us.. Live so ..our sacrifice.....won't go in vain." Her voice broke. Never in her wildest dream had she ever imagined to say these words to the little dragon. Her eyes softened when they landed on the petite form of the spirit dragon. "Sorry.." she apologised. "Sorry.....things...had to end this way......"
Flarria clenched her hands as she sent a vine towards her younger sister sending her flying a few distance away and the magical beasts followed after the spirit dragon. The attack was gentle and held no malice. It was to keep the younger one out of the danger. "Aquaria. Put the barrier now. " the water dragon complied as she realised the spell she had been secretly weaving the whole time. Over the border, a strong barrier made out of water, shot up almost covering the sky. "Even if I will die..this barrier would still hold up for years...atleast I hope it does.." the queen of Agaira looked at her older brother and sister. "I...will see you guys...in my afterlife.. " she smiled as she bent down to hug them.
The Resalder used her sword to break free from the wild vines and the water case. She was no longer smiling, infact her eyes burned with anger. "I no longer want your hides for decoration..now I want to mutilate all of you." She said brusquely.
Dark aura spilled out from her body stifling everyone around her. It was a petrifying feeling, something that almost made their heart pop. The dark aura ate away everything in it's way, even the shield. It circled around the entire forest, like a black hole, mercilessly. The dragons trapped in it knew what it was. Syapthora..
From the outside one could only see a black sphere.
And that's what Lòng Qì witnessed. The sphere stretched like a living being and the plants close to it wilted and turned to dust. The place where she stood a few minutes ago was now, reduced to nothingness. All the familiar manas she had grown so attached to disappeared one by one, leaving behind a bone chilling emptiness. The spirit dragon felt numb. The overwhelming feeling of the emptiness around her knocked her down to her knees. Her family was gone. Snatched away from her. Everyone she loved...everything she had ever loved...was gone.
An anguished cry left the mouth of the magical beasts as they too felt the pain of losing their beloved kings and queens.
Live for us.
What...was the point of living anymore? What was the point of having so much power when she couldn't use them to protect her family?
I...don't want...to live..
The sphere kept growing, speeding towards her but the spirit dragon made no attempt to defend herself. All her will was lost. There was no point in doing anything anymore.
CLANG!!!!!
Something stopped it. The sphere had stopped and had fallen apart, like it never existed. Lòng Qì's red eyes vaguely made out the shape of a blade with a large wooden handle.
A...spear?...
The spear created a magical blast of it's own, countering the dark aura with equal force. Holding the spear was a woman dressed in armors. Her magenta eyes, filled with contempt, were fixed on the Resalder. She was extremely tall and elegant and her long black hair danced with the wind freely as a strange glow emitted from her body.
But what got Lòng Qì's attention was the mark on her hand. The woman infront of the dragon was the queen of Phalozalis. The Phalozailea observed her surrounding taking note of all the dead dragons and the destruction caused by the Resalders. Above them, hidden among the trees, were hundreds and hundreds of Phalozaileans armed with weapons that the dragon never saw before.
"Zea." The woman called. Her voice was bold and sharp, with an air of confidence. The hunter didn't look very happy at the presence of the queen. "If it isn't the immortal magician..tsk." she glared at the dragon behind the Phalozailea. "It would be wise of you, if you would just hand me that dragon~♡ or else.."
The magenta eyed woman glanced down at the dragon, her eyes softening at the tattered form of the small dragon. The Phalozailea could tell that she was suffering immensely from mana depletion and mental damage. She needed attention, asap.
The black haired woman pointed her spear at Zea. "This is a warning. Take your people and get lost from my kingdom or I shall be the one you will be dealing with." Her voice held no doubt or fear. She meant what she said. Zea growled unhappy at the sudden turn in the event. She knew that she had no chance against the magicians when there were so many of them. She tsked angrily, biting her finger.
"I will come back for that dragon. And when I do...non of you will live to see the next day." With that she disappeared with a black fog, the surviving Resalders followed in suit.
The queen of Phalozalis, lowered her gaze at the dragon and gently pulled her up to her feet. The spirit dragon didn't put up a fight, she just let herself get dragged up by her hand. "Stand up..." She spoke kindly, as she supported the dragons body, using her shoulder. The magical beasts looked relieved, for they finally sat back down.
"If...only...you had...come earlier..." The Phalozailea's ear twitched when she heard a faint voice. "If only you had arrived..earlier...my family...would had..survived..." the dragon looked broken and dead. "I apologise...for not arriving sooner...I wasn't informed of this situation. Only when the seal was breached I was able to sense your presence." The queen spoke calmly, choosing her words carefully.
"Your highness!! The dragons are holding something that is glowing!!!" One of the soldiers informed. "Do you know what it is?" The queen asked Lòng Qì who nodded slowly. "Their..mana...orbs.." the white haired girl pushed herself off the woman and staggered towards the remains of her siblings. She would never forget what the Resalder did to them. This was a sight she would never let herself forget.
Her siblings's bodies were charred to a very unrecognizable state. Their skins were falling off their bodies, to the ground with a sickening 'sploching' sound. Their limbs were dismembered and some of them were missing. Surrounding them was nothing but black void. The only source of light were the orbs surrounding what appeared to be their body. The glow grew stronger in the presence of Lòng Qì who felt her own mana orb shine.
"Your highness...is she going to be alright?" A child with wild red hair asked the red eyed woman, feeling pity for the broken dragon. "No. She won't..atleast for a while." Was the queens answer.
With a trembling hand the spirit dragon picked up her siblings's mana orbs cradling them close to her body as her shoulders trembled from all the emotions she had tried to suppress. They came out pouring out like an ocean, the void left by the demise of her family, the feeling of helplessness , the feeling of extreme fear-..everything came crashing down. Strangled wails escaped her mouth, which turned to mourning. Everyone was gone..everyone she loved and held dear...everything..
And it was all those mortals fault.
She will ki-
"Revenge will not bring back what you lost, child." The spirit dragon slowly turned her head to look at the queen. "Revenge and retaliation always perpetuate the cycle of anger, fear and violence. And I am pretty sure your siblings will not want that." Her hand caressed the Lòng Qì's head.
"That...beast...took away...everything from me...my family..my home
...everything...how can I not want to do the same to her?!" Lòng Qì growled. "That..won't make you any different than her, then. Well, I won't force my opinion on you though. It is completely upto you whether you want to walk the path of darkness or light. " The Phalozailea said as she smiled faintly at the small dragon.
"You highness...you should return back to the castle. Too much activity will be dangerous for your baby.." the red haired girl suggested as she checked the place one last time. Lòng Qì's eyes snapped back at the woman, that saved her life. Now that she looked carefully, the queens stomach was bulging out and she could see signs of life in it. "You...are.....what...is ..that?" She sputtered. "You..came...in that condition?!" She couldn't understand. Why would this woman risk her child's life to save her life?
"Of course. Afterall...I couldn't say no to the last wish of your siblings." She gazed at the sky that had cleared away letting the moon shine brightly.
Her...siblings...wish....
Live for us.
"Live...for...them..." she parroted gripping the orbs tighter. The queen nodded. "They wanted you to live..and for that they gave up their life. They truly did loved you, little one." Her eyes were so kind that Lòng Qì couldn't help the tears from spilling down her cheeks. The queens eyes were like Flaeria's.
