LEGACY- BONUS CHAPTER 1

LEGACY- BONUS CHAPTER 1

"Shouldn't it just be the happy couple doing the first dance?"

Mark Webber laughed to himself as he watched his Joey, dance with her new husband and closest friends on her wedding day, seemingly having an unspoken dance circle where anybody could step in to the middle.

The music playing was Temperature by Sean Paul, a favorite one of the couple and one that they knew would get people dancing, and it was.

There wasn't just Larissa and Charles, there was Zahra, Esteban, Lewis, Toto, Lucy, Alex, Lily, Lando, George, Carlos, Nyck, Arthur, Nicholas, Yuki, Jenson, Sebastian, Daniel, Hanna, Fred, James, Fernando, Michael, Jacqueline, Kimi, Pato, Ollie, Juan, Hamda, Amna, Frederick, Bianca, Tatiana, Susie, Jamie, Alexander, Kevin, Romain, Gunther and so many more.

All of them, on the dance floor in the large building used for the wedding venue, a circle that was over half the room with them all lined up beside one another dancing and jumping and overall having the time of their lives.

It was the happiest that Mark had ever seen them all, at least since Larissa had won her first championship anyway, that day he doubted could ever be beaten.

But this had a very good chance.

"You wanna be the one to tell Larissa that the people who kept her alive can't dance with her on her wedding day? I'll cheer as she punches you."

Kimi Raikonnen chuckled to himself as he watched his niece and goddaughter enjoy her wedding day, lifting his hand up to his face so that he could take a sip from his glass full of whiskey.

He shot the Leclerc-Cohen woman a wink as she glanced towards him, a bright beaming smile upon her beautiful face.

Her father would be so proud.

Anthoine would be so proud.

André would not, and he loved the thought of that.

"Good point. I might go and dance then." Mark nodded his head up and down, he too taking a sip of his alcoholic drink.

"Dance with your husband."

"Fernando and I never married, actually."

The pair of former Formula One drivers laughed, celebrating the day and the occasion. It had been so stressful for Kimi in the run up to the wedding as both Toto and himself had the stress of helping her to organise the day.

Zahra had obviously helped with most of the stuff too, and was there when Larissa chose her wedding dress, but Susie had been there too and had seen Larissa break down in to tears that Anthoine hadn't been there with her.

It was almost eight years since the crash, and there wasn't a single day that went by where Larissa hadn't thought about her best friend and how much of her life that he had missed.

She hoped that he was proud of her.

"Come on, idiota!"

Her voice broke both men from their thoughts as their heads snapped upwards in order to glance at her, the bride now standing in front of them with her hands outstretched.

"What?"

"You can't not dance with the bride on her wedding day!"

Larissa Kimi Leclerc-Cohen spoke with light attitude as her dark eyes stared down her friend and her godfather, her eyebrows raised, mouth slightly ajar.

The Webber man immediately ran towards the crowd, leaving the uncle and niece duo standing before one another, smiles upon both their faces.

"You look beautiful." Kimi smiled proudly, tears evident in his crystal blue eyes.

"Speak up old man! I can't hear you!" Larissa laughed, wrinkles forming around her eyes from her bright and beaming smile, her hands outstretched towards the Finnish man who she loved deeply.

"I am so proud to have seen you grow up, kid." Kimi took a step forward, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head, his heart beating out of his chest and she wrapped her arms around his frame to hug him.

"I couldn't have done any of it without you, uncle Kimi." Larissa spoke truthfully, crystal clear water droplets starting to form in her irises. "I wouldn't be here, if you hadn't been here. You gave me a father figure when I needed one. You cuddled me as I cried, you soothed my nightmares, you fought my battles and you saved my life."

"I think that it's only fair that we have a father and daughter dance to celebrate."

The eyes of the Raikonnen man widened to the size of saucers as the words left her lips, his mouth opening and closing multiple times.

"You want me? But I'm not your father."

"No, but I think he'd agree that you were pretty fucking close, so he won't mind." The Leclerc-Cohen woman grabbed his hands and began to pull him towards the dance floor which had since been cleared of people so it was now empty.

Courtesy of her bridesmaids and maid of honor, Zahra, Susie, Hamda, Amna, Lucy, Marta, Jacqueline, Tatiana, Doriane, Jamie and Bianca.

She had a lot of bridesmaids but she didn't care.

She loved her girls.

Just before Kimi could ask what the song would be for their dance, the music kicked in, his tears now falling down his cheeks, his throat going dry as he immediately recognised it.

Luther Vandross, Dance with my Father.

It was painfully perfect and he knew that Luiz would be so happy to see him being the one to dance with her.

Out of the corner of her eye, Larissa was able to see her husband also joining the dance, himself bringing somebody who had been a surrogate father to him.

Fred Vasseur.

It was beautifully angelic for the crowd to watch as the two without fathers dance with the very men that had treated them like their own.

Even when Max Verstappen joined the dance with his surrogate father, that being Sebastian since his real surrogate father had been banned from Larissa's wedding, along with his real father.

Max was surprised when he was allowed to go in the first place.

Zahra dragged Fernando on to the dance floor since she too had not grown up with a father, or a mother for that matter, the Spanish man happily dancing with his niece who was also a daughter figure to him.

She would've grabbed Sebastian if she could've, he knew that because her uncle Sebby had walked Zahra down the aisle when she had married Esteban two years ago, but Fernando was more than happy to dance with her. He loved Zahra so much,

As much as he loved Larissa. He didn't have favorites, he loved both his girls.

The group danced for a couple of minutes, just swaying to the music, not minding the mass of cameras from their friends as they filmed it, until eventually the song came to an end and another one began to play.

"Vamos de fiesta, perras!"

Pato O'Ward screamed as loud as he could, his hand raised in to the air, his cheeky and adorable smile evident upon his face.

The bride, his best friend, released a scream of her own, raising both her arms in to the air, running to dance with him and the her best friends.

It was strange, he had only met her at her championship winning party when she won her first championship, but since then, he had stuck to her like glue.

They were always around one another, and Larissa was there when Pato won his IndyCar season, beating Josef Newgarden with ease.

She discovered that she had a habit of that, adopting people without realising.

She had adopted Pato, she had adopted Liam Lawson who was currently being sick in the toilets from having a little bit too much to drink from trying to outdrink Larissa, she had adopted Oliver Bearman was now dancing with Lando and Oscar and was evidently drunk.

Not as drunk as Lando, but very drunk.

She had adopted the girls from F1 Academy. Granted, she had created the series in the hopes of getting more female drivers in to Formula One, which had worked because now a bunch of them were actually racing alongside her, which she loved.

Hamda was her favorite, but she would never tell.

She had adopted all of them, Hamda, Amna, Bianca, Marta, Doriane, Abby, Maya, Reema, Tina, Lia, Chloe and Carrie.

She had adopted Kimi Antonelli, who was currently dancing with Yuki and Logan, who she had always pretty much adopted.

She had adopted Frederick who was dancing with Lucy, she had adopted Zhou who was dancing with Lewis, she had adopted Oscar, she had adopted Paul, Dino, Dennis and Jehan, she had adopted Clément, Theo, and Zak.

She felt like a mother to fifty.

Her life was amazing and she was so happy that she had survived, it hadn't been easy but it had all been worth it in the end.

She was happy and married with an amazing husband, the bestest of friends and the amazing family that had chosen all by herself, because she didn't need what was left of her biological one.

No she didn't need them at all.

She had everything that she had wanted, she just wished her guardian angels would've been here but she figured that they had been the reason why she had recieved what she had.

They were gifting her with the love that they couldn't give to her.

She had frozen her eggs a couple of years ago since she wanted kids but had wanted to achieve her dreams first, and she knew that when she was ready, then the Leclerc-Cohen family would grow.

But for now?

She was happy with what she had.
