LEGACY - BONUS CHAPTER 3
LEGACY - BONUS CHAPTER 3
"Hey! Pea brain!"
A young Larissa Cohen shouted loudly as she ran through the paddock as fast as she could, the body of somebody that she knew very well hearing her charge towards them, running away the quickest that they could.
It wasn't every day that somebody had stolen her fathers lucky baseball hat, the very one that she had been trusted to look after, though she had gotten distracted by her uncle which allowed somebody to steal it.
Considering she was a five year old with very small legs, the racing drivers within the paddock were surprised by how quick she was, their tall bodies jumping out of the way to avoid standing on her, knowing that if they did that they would be returning her in two halves to her father.
"You're stinky!"
Mick Schumacher screamed as he ran away from his best friend, the lucky cap within his grasp since he had been the one to steal it, clutching it tightly against his chest to avoid dropping it, desperate to give it to his father because he needed it.
There will be no Cohen Curse at his fathers home race, especially if he would be the one to have the lucky cap.
The German could see his father just a little bit further ahead, his older sister at his feet, his mother by his side, happiness within his chest that he was almost there, so close to giving his father the perfect gift and perfect luck.
Then, his body hit the ground, the young blonde boy releasing a shrill like scream, high both in pitch and volume causing the adults around them to stare at the scene, amused yet heavily confused at what was going on around them.
Larissa Cohen held him down with her body, lifting his leg in a way that she had seen on the television in wrestling, her entire weight on her brother since he had dared to steal her fathers lucky cap.
Whenever he didn't have the cap, he tended to crash so she knew the damage that would be done if she had let it be stolen.
"Larissa, baby! Let him go!"
Corinna Schumacher gasped as she watched them fight, with Mick in tears as he was held down, crying for his mother, crouching down to lift the face of the Brazilian girl to soothe her and separate them in their little fight.
"He's trying to make papa crash! He took the lucky cap!" Larissa argued to the German woman, trying to hold her friend in place despite his mothers attempt to free him.
"Mick, did you take the lucky cap?" Corrina and Michael Schumacher spoke in unison as they pulled the children apart, the young boy immediately being lifted in to his mothers arms, nestling his face in to her neck.
"It's lucky! It's the only way to break the Cohen Curse!" Mick cried, the cap in his hands which he refused to let go of, tears free falling down his cheeks like a waterfall.
"The Cohen Curse?"
Michael Schumacher smiled softly at his son, stroking his head gently to calm him down whilst gently taking the baseball cap out of his tiny little hands and returning it to the Brazilian child.
"Mick, the Cohen Curse has nothing to do with a cap, I don't need a Brazilian cap to win my home race, I've got you, you mother and Gina. That's what breaks the curse." Michael explained softly, his eyes noticing that the Cohen girl had already ran off to return the cap to her father, a soft smile upon his face.
If only he knew that one hour later that he would be suffering an engine failure, maybe he would've kept the cap.

"Hey! You've still got it!"
Mick Schumacher smiled fondly as his eyes fell upon a baseball cap locked safely away in a trophy cabinet, one that he would recognise in a heart beat, a Brazilian baseball cap that Luiz had stitched his name on to himself, the cap itself having belonged to Luiz since he was a child, though he was determined to have a cap with his name on before he reached Formula One, so he had stitched it himself.
"Obviously, pea brain."
Larissa Cohen spoke as she stared at the cap now happily in pride of place along with her fathers trophies, as well as two world championship trophies of her own, the baseball cap now having been a blessing that helped the Cohen Curse continue on to the next generation, something that she was determined would pass to her children and any children that they had.
Anybody who was friends with a Cohen would never finish their home race, she wanted to make sure of that.
"Are you still upset that I took it? My dad still had a DNF, you won!" The Schumacher boy chuckled to himself as he stared at the cap, the memories flooding back to him and reminding him of better times, times where he still had his uncle Luiz to secretly spoil him with things that he wasn't allowed.
"You tried to erase my curse, bitch!" Larissa argued back, narrowing her eyes in to slits at the memories that seeing it again had brought up, the two siblings moving ready to fight all over again, unsure who the winner would be sixteen years later.
The duo fell to the ground with a grunt, the Brazilian having done the very similar tackle that she had done back then, this time with the German putting up more of a fight, his legs wrapping around her waist to try and flip her over so that he could win.
It would've worked too, until Larissa sent a punch to the back of his knee causing him to release her, her entire body weight moving on to his once again, his leg being lifted in to the air and held there at an awkward angle until he was forced to submit, losing once again to the smart mouthed Brazilian that he loved.
"You always play dirty!" The blonde boy laughed as they stood back to their feet, slightly out of breath, smiles mirroring those of sixteen years previous.
"What did you expect! I'm five foot two!"
"You can't use your height for everything!"
"Watch me, pea brain!"
