💀Chapter One💀
"In my defense, the simple minded ones always think it's a prank and not a threat to their lives."

"Tía, they stuffed Pugsley into a locker after tying him up like a suckling pig. You can't possibly believe I would let that slide!" I exclaimed as Wednesday and I were escorted out of the principals office by her parents and some policemen.
"We only do the suckling pig thing at Christmas and it's not as amateurly done as that shit." I tried to explain to Aunt Morticia, but she wasn't having it. She pulled me aside, more than likely to try to get answers.
"My little hell spawn, you wasted perfectly good piranhas on those boys, and now you both have to attend...therapy." Auntie Ticia stated, a distasteful tone emerging as she uttered the last word.
"They should be glad that no one died." I tried to shrug off the incident. "Although, I'm not sure why, the dead are so much more fun."
"How did you girls even know that it was the waterpolo team?"
I wasn't about to rat out one of my favorite cousins to her mother, knowing full well that Wednesday didn't want anyone to know about her visions until she got some answers herself.
"I have my sources, Auntie." I answered vaguely, knowing that she didn't believe a word of it. "Besides, Pugsley was avenged. Our message was received."
"What message, Hades?" She asked with a raised brow.
"That just because the school administration doesn't do anything, doesn't mean karma won't be dealt accordingly." I explain with a smirk.
"And yours and Wednesday's karma for mutilating that boy is that the top of you are going to Nevermore Academy." Morticia stated sternly as she led me back to the group.
"Yours and my dad's old stomping ground?" I asked curiously.
"The very one, little void." Uncle Gomez laughed. "Your dad always wanted you to go there."
"Halfway through my senior year? Isn't a little late to 'make some traumatic memories'?" I chuckled with a shake of my head.
"Well, our little nightmare, this is our last resort."
"This idea is a nightmare, and not the fun kind." Wednesday deadpanned, sharing a knowing look with me.
I snickered at the younger girl's comment, nodding in agreement.

"I think this is probably one of the most traumatizing parts of this punishment." I muttered to Wednesday as we were forced to watch her parents flirt.
"Agreed, can you gauge out my eyes with your nails?" The younger girl asked, nodding towards my smoky black acrylics.
"Tempting, but if I have to suffer, so do you." I whispered not so quietly, a chuckle poking through my words.
"You'll be joining your ghost acquaintances soon enough." She stated, making me smirk in amusement.
Wednesday then went on to bicker with her parents, as I stared out the window. Truthfully, I stopped paying attention.
"At least it's turning into a beautiful day." Aunt Morticia commented, as thunder rumbled and we got closer to the Academy.
Uncle Gomez and I shared a look, both knowing full well that the two were going to have a very Addams Family spat.

As the four of us sat in Principal Weems' office, the blonde woman gave us each a very wide smile.
"Wednesday and Hades are certainly unique names. I'm guessing it was the day of the week you were born?" She guessed albeit incorrectly.
"I was born on Friday the Thirteenth." My cousin corrected and I held a smug grin on my lips. The shadows of the dead whispering amongst themselves around the room.
"Her name comes from a line from my favorite nursery rhyme, 'Wednesday's child is full of woe.'" Morticia explained, before motioning to me. "Hades was named after my brother's favorite Greek deity."
"Gods rest his soul." Weems commented, making me tense despite my not showing it.
"Poor Macbeth and Lilith, may they join us when the can." Gomez said patting my shoulder.
"Oh, they're here." I chimed in, pointing to a corner of the room. They're shadows waving excitedly at me. "They refused to miss my first day."
"Delightful." The principle stated uneasily, looking warily around her office. "You always did have a unique perspective on the world, Morticia."
I smirked amusedly at the quick change in subject matter. This Principle Weems has a suspicious aura and I want to make her as uneasy as possible.
"Did your mother tell you we were roommates back in the day?" She addressed Wednesday with a bright smile.
"And you graduated with your sanity intact? Impressive." The girl sassed, making me chuckle and earning a look from my aunt.
"You've certainly had a very interesting educational journey, eight schools in five years."
"They haven't built one strong enough to hold her." I praised the fifteen year old, with a smirk.
"I bet this place won't be any different."
"I believe what our daughter and niece are trying to say is that they both greatly appreciate the opportunity." Uncle Gomez piped in trying to better our first impression.
"Nevermore doesn't usually accept students midterm, but given Wednesday's perfect grades and Hades' spectacular extracurricular activities and recommendations. As well as your family's long history with the school, I've spoken with the board and we've made an exception."
"Larissa, what about the girls'.... Therapy sessions?" Morticia asked in a hushed tone. "The court ordered them."
"The school has a relationship with a therapist in Jericho. She can meet twice a week."
"Did you hear that my little storm clouds?" Uncle Gomez asked us excitedly. "You're in excellent hands."
"We'll see if she survives the first session." Wednesday bluntly stated, causing a brief silence to drag out.
"I've assigned you to your mother's old dorm, Wednesday. Ophelia Hall."Weems told her, before turning to me. "I have a student in the Eurydice Hall who is willing to share a dorm with you, Hades."
"Fantastic news indeed." I commented with a straight face.
"Refresh my memory, cousin. Ophelia is the one who kills herself after being driven mad by her family, correct?" The dual braided girl asked me.
"Correct you are, cousin. And Eurydice was killed by a snake and then stranded in the underworld by her faithless lover." I responded with a smirk.
"Shall we go meet your new roommates?" Weems suggested with a smile, making Wednesday and I share a look.
