INTRODUCTION!

the sounds of the maids delivering food to each of the selected were the only sounds that could be heard as prince keir stood up at the head of the breakfast table and silenced everyone. the selected, along with the royals, had all been gathered in the dining hall that morning for their meals. it had been mere hours after the event in which ky took the life of the creature in the corridor, yet everyone seemed to be doing their best to pass that over. they would soon learn that this was normal life at the palace if they hadn't come to that assumption already.

"i know that everyone is expecting some sort of explanation about last night," keir said, his voice eerily reasonable in the moment. "but, i wouldn't hold your breath on it. yes, it is out of the ordinary for most of you to experience such events, but you must understand that this is what the life of this royal family entails. if anyone has any problem with it, feel free to pack your things and leave before the week's event."

however, keir was sitting back down almost as soon as the words had left his mouth and mirella was rising to her feet, dressed in her uniform red jumpsuit with her hair pulled back into a bun. her voice ringing out over the room, she said, "over the course of the next few days, each of you will have the liberty of planning what you would like to do with your assigned royal. the goal here is to demonstrate some sort of talent - whether it be something important to you or something you believe that makes you fitting for the throne -, but it's not limited to that. you may send us a note explaining the activity and where we will be, but if you choose to turn it into more of a date, then that is your call. while it might not feel as if you have much freedom in this selection, we're working on proving otherwise."

the entire time she spoke, keir was pushing food around on his plate, not at all seeming pleased with what she was saying. after the night before, mir had sat down and talked ky into more of a 'mellow' event, one that wouldn't hold any pressuring stakes. of course, while ky wasn't pleased, all he could hold onto was the sliver of hope that no one was going to risk forcing him into a date as mirella had opened the day up for.

WHAT TO DO!

― all chains will be taking place on this chapter. while i have posted room chapters, for right now, this is easier for me. i merely did that to give some people ideas.

― for the most part, this is a free chain event, but your selected is expected to do the planning for whatever they wish to do with their royal.

― after this event, if your selected would like to meet one of the other royals, feel free to ask me first before we start a chain (on one of the location chapters)

― if you have a side ship with me, pm me and we can discuss how we are going to be starting that! keep in mind that i have several chains to get to, though, so i can only promise as quick of response as i'm capable of.

TIP!

this isn't required, but i suggest being unique with the idea in order to stand out with the royals.

― all chains are taking place after event one and then the short excerpt from task one

― your selected has, for the most part, been confined to their rooms, even though it has only been roughly twenty-four hours of them staying at the palace

― when you have finished event one, i will post your character's name along with their royal on this chapter. if you do not see your character's name and you've already finished, let me know through the chat chain or pm!
