many people assume keir to be the sort of prince who has a tough exterior and a soft inside, the kind who put up some mask of being insane to hide what he really was. however, that is far from the case. while ky was once a sweet, caring person who gave everything he could to everyone and anything, that person truly doesn't exist in him anymore. the death of his father, for more reasons than the obvious ones, completely changed him, and that part isn't something that can be hidden. but, while he appears to be insane, there are methods to his insanity.

there are times when keir isn't caught up in his insanity, though they are extremely uncommon. when he gets out of his mind and back into reality, he generally spaces himself away from people so that he can have that time for himself. during these periods of time, he can easily be thrown back into his insanity, no matter how hard he attempts to grip onto reality. like everyone, ky has to have his reality checks and those demonstrate that there is more to his personality than some mischievous madman.

for everything he does, ky has reasoning. he might not wish to speak up on it, but it's true. he won't make a decision if it doesn't have some sort of reasoning to support it. there have to be methods to madness, of course.

if there is something that keir can be relied on, it's for his wild, impulsive nature. while, yes, impulsive goes against having a reason for everything he does, it's simply how he displays himself to others. everyone believes the prince to be impulsive, despite him having reasonings he refuses to explain. however, the wild part certainly is true. he doesn't seem to have a regard for his own safety or life, so he tends to make reckless decisions for the sake of having fun.

despite all the seemingly negative traits that surround keir, there are positive ones that come along with it. the prince is extremely loyal to those he cares about. even when his mother turned on him and went into the constant state of grief she's in, keir does everything he can to do what she needs him to do. of course, he refuses to pretend to be someone he isn't for her, but the loyalty exists in other ways. he distances himself from her to give her the space she needs to stay as far from grief as possible. if you ever catch him seeking her out, something is seriously wrong.

along with this, ky does have a brain in his head. even if he's out of his mind, the intelligence that he was born with remains. he has a memory that people are constantly curious to test, and he always passes with flying colours. he loves to expand his knowledge and does a fairly good job at it.

however much you describe for keir, though, one can only scratch the surface. there's so much more than even the intricate person placed here, but only those brave enough to find out will know.

keir used to be amazing at writing poetry, but refuses to anymore. he can't stand picking up a pencil and writing down his emotions after his father'a death.

— swimming in lakes (not pools)
you can often find keir in the forest by the palace, or even in the closed off areas of the ocean by the cliffs. however, he feels his privacy is invaded everytime he is in the pool, so he refuses to swim in them.

of course, ky hates recent history, but he loves ancient history. anything regarding ancient rome or greece automatically has him hooked, especially their beliefs and their architecture.

before everything happened, people used to rave about the prince's skill for music. however, he can't stand the sound of a single instrument anymore.

as stated, he enjoys his privacy. while he loves photography, he can't stand having his picture taken.

the royal family used to all get together on holidays and bake a bunch of food, but ky absolutley detests the tradition now.

mirella and ky are always seeming to be in each other's ways. the two have never gotten along very well, but that doesn't mean they can't stand each other. after all, they're still siblings.

reese schreave. sister.

reese is one of the few that still accepts and gets along with keir. she is likely the closest person to keir if there ever was one.

before the death of their father, ky used to be extremely protective over rowan. now, however, the two have lost the bond of brothers, hence the reason rowan has refused to participate in the selection.

celine schreave. mother.

celine and ky had previously had one of the strongest bonds that could exist with a mother and son. it was almost as though she were one of his best friends rather than his mother. of course, the bond shattered when keir ceased to remind her of his father, when he broke the last thing she had to remember him by.

[ BACKSTORY ]

so much has occurred in ky's life that it's difficult to pick what to talk about. growing up, the boy had taken after his father in every possible manner. the two had the same mannerisms, the same way of speaking, the same looks, the same personality. they were close as a father and son should be, and were quite the dynamic duo. the queen had always adored the two together and it was apparent in the way she spoke of them and presented herself in interviews. however, it was all broken when keir ceased to be the person she wanted him to be.

keir took to smoking after his father passed away, and the girl he had been ready to potentially married had been cut from his life. he had never been sure whether he was in love with her or not, and still hasn't been able to determine that to this day. but, things like that are the furthest thing from his mind as of lately.

due to his hallucinations and turn to insanity, ky has made quite a few mistakes. of course, not a thing will be able to deter him from his path of not regretting them, though. he does everything for a reason, and will never regret something he has done.

[ WHY THE SELECTION? ]

keir doubts the possibility of love for himself at the moment, but it isn't something he's seeking, anyways. he knows that he isn't entirely there and doesn't want to take the throne without someone at his side. doctors have been predicting for years that his mother will soon die of the grief she has allowed to consume her, and ky knows very well that he'll soon take the throne.
