Telepathy

'I thought we had no secrets. But we did. And that broke me a little,'

"We both go away for a while and you guys mess this up?!" Sora yelled at her phone, going through the countless papers in front of her. "No, listen! I will not calm down! The debut is less than 4 months away and you're telling me you guys have no idea where the copyright contract is?! Is this some kind of joke?"

Mishil massaged her temples, going through the countless files to the brim with papers and contracts Sora carried with her.

"How am I supposed to calm down!" Sora yelled, "Do you realize that their debut has been sabotaged without this contract? How could you all be so careless?"

Whoever was at the other side of the line was very much in for a long lecture. "I don't care what you do!" Sora yelled on her phone. "I want that contract on the CEO's table by tomorrow or you will hear from me!" With that, she threw her phone on the bed; a little too hard.

The device bounced on the mattress and fell on the floor, screen first; causing a sickening crack to echo through the room. "Dear God take me!" Sora screamed, cradling her temple in her hands.

"Okay enough!" Mishil closed the file with a snap, leaving the spot she was glued to for the past 2 hours. "You're clearly going crazy and we can't allow that to happen." "I know Mish but-" "I know it's stressful but we have a backup plan don't we? I know it's kind of a hassle but we have something we can work with. For now, let's go and visit the boys."

Sora still seemed reluctant, Mishil could tell that she was still contemplating thinking of a plan but it was clear that she was on the brink of exploding.

"Okay here's what we do," Mishil began to persuade Sora. "Slow Rabbit and PDogg are currently with the boys at the venue. Let's have a quick chat with them and see what they can do. Then we can come back to the hotel and think of the next step, how's that sound?"

Seeing that Sora was still contemplating, Mishil began whining. "Eunnie, please! We've been stuck in this suite for hours now. Our bodies need some vitamin D and we have seen nothing of Hamilton yet. For 2 hours please!" "Okay fine! Fine!" Sora pushed herself up from the plush armchair. "But only because you're too cute and I miss my soulmate,"

"Of course you do!" Mishil giggled, shuffling to her room. The original reason why she was actually pushing Sora to visit the boys in their Hamilton venue was that she needed healing. The second concert in Canada was tomorrow and the boys were currently in the concert venue doing their last rehearsals.

As much she hated interrupting his practice, she was pretty sure Namjoon needed it too, given that she'd gone to bed later than him and the usual all-night healing was cut short.

"Onward to the FirstOntario centre;" Mishil climbed the driver's seat while Sora rode shotgun. "I think this is the first time I've seen you drive," Sora acknowledged. "Most of the time, Soo-Ah is driving us around. Since she's associated with the cop department, in case we ever find ourselves in a sticky situation, she can get us out of it." Mishil giggled, driving out of the hotel parking and up the streets of Hamilton.

"Now aren't you two such troublemakers," Sora playfully squinted at her. "Only once or twice," Mishil cheekily smiled before focusing back on the road. "We need some music;" Sora announced as they stopped at a red light, grabbing the AUX and plugging her phone in.

Shine by Pentagon blasted, a bit too loud to be socially acceptable, causing the girls to jump in their seats. The loud sound of the unfamiliar music made all the other neighbouring cars turn to look at them, making Sora dive for the volume control.

"Gosh, Eunnie!" Mishil ducked her head, giggling uncontrollably. "I don't think I've ever been this embarrassed in my life," Sora gasped as the light turned green and Mishil sped away from the traffic. "And who's fault is that?" Mishil scoffed, still very much giggling. "Oh shut up you like it!" The girls broke into another round of laughter.

"Namjoon rest please!" That was the first thing they heard as they walked past backstage and onto the main stage. "I'm fine," replied a weaker voice, which belonged to Namjoon. He was slumped on the floor of the sidelines of the stage, the members surrounding him.

"What happened to him?" Mishil's voice cut past the murmuring atmosphere, causing all of the boys to turn towards her. Even Namjoon lifted his tired eyes to confirm the fact he knew.

"He needs healing," Jungkook began, "And Hyung was not letting us call you," "It's not-" "Namjoon quiet!" Jin scolded, making Namjoon retreat like a scolded puppy.

"Move back all of you." He turned to the boys. "Let them heal," The boys complied, moving away from the exhausted leader. Jin gave Mishil a soft smile and reached for Sora.

"Mish I-" Namjoon's words died on his lips as Mishil wordlessly slipped her hands in his, fingers threaded and shoulders touching. "Sometimes, I wonder when exactly will you call me when you need me. Cause so far, you've been dodging me at every chance you get." Mishil glared at her soulmate.

"Now come on!" Namjoon whined, pouting. "Everyone's just scolding me. At least listen to what I have to say," Everyone else within earshot giggled at how the tall dominating leader became a pouting, whining child around his soulmate.

"What would you possibly have to say? You needed healing but you wouldn't let anyone call me! How exactly were you supposed to get through practice, Mister?" She scolded, arching one eyebrow. "I can't believe you sometimes Joon,"

"I was just-" "Hush now and heal!" The staff just giggled at how she reprimanded him like he was a pouty child. "It's soo odd watching you guys bickering while holding hands," Mi-Eun laughed, whilst fixing Jimin's mike. "As if you guys don't do that 24/7," Jungkook teased from beside Namjoon and Mishil.

"Namjoon-ssi, I'll fix your mike." A staff, who Mishil was mostly appointed to Namjoon, approached them. "Of course," Namjoon sat up straighter, still very much glued to Mishil. The staff though had other plans, as the lady basically shoved Mishil forcing their hands to separate. Mishil almost lost her balance and fell but instead of the floor, she felt Jungkook's strong arms wrap around his shoulders.

The second she was not touching him, Namjoon's upright, cheerful demeanour dropped as exhaustion wrapped itself around his entire form. "Excuse me what did you just do?" Sora suddenly sped over to them. "You alright Noona?" Jungkook asked, his doe eye shining with concern as he helped the older woman up. "Yeah Kookie, I'm fine," Mishil said, breathless.

"I'm just doing my duty," The staff said, defensively. "The practice is gonna resume soon and he needed to be miked up. She was in my way," "Then you tell her to move! Not shove her like that!" Sora seethed, her eyes flaring with anger. "Eunnie," Mishil stepped forward, not wanting a scene.

"And as for the practice resuming, he's healing. And practice does not resume until the leader says he's feeling up to it," Hoseok walked into the conversation. "You guys, please, leave it." Mishil pleaded, glancing at the lady. The staff looked extremely pissed but nonetheless took in the scolding.

"I apologize for being rude but I was just trying to make sure I was doing what I needed to," The staff bowed. "It's not them you need to apologize to," Mishil's eyes widened when Namjoon spoke up. His voice sounded so tired. "Joon," Mishil gently passed the staff and grabbed his hand, aligning their hands so that the healing would resume.

"Namjoon-ssi," The staff looked at him with utter disbelief, her eyes misty. "You should at least understand me,"

"I'm thankful for your dedication towards your work. But you could've hurt my soulmate. And I don't appreciate that. So please apologize to her,"

If eyes could emit fire, Mishil would've been nothing but a pile of ashes on the ground, thanks to the way the lady looked at her. "I apologize Miss. I was out of line," Baffled, Mishil nodded, "It's fine," The staff bowed once more before scurrying away.

"Gosh, what's with her?" Sora scoffed, glaring in her direction. "You alright Mish?" "I'm fine but you guys didn't have to be so harsh on her." "Yeah yeah whatever," Hoseok shook his head. "Now focus on healing. I wanna go through the whole set list before we're done for the day,"

"Yeah then leave us alone," Namjoon sassed, waving his hand. "Shoo~" "Jeez so mean!" Hoseok fake pouted before walking away.

"You have to stop letting people walk over you, Mish," Namjoon sighed, resting his head on her shoulder. "I was just baffled," Mishil explained. "I mean I technically did intrude on practice and I thought you guys were gonna start again soon,"

"Well that doesn't give her the right to separate me from my soulmate; leave out shoving her out of the way," He stated, a matter of factly. "Give it a rest, she apologized," Mishil pouted, tracing the lines on his palm. "That's because Sora Noona and Hope-ah basically demanded her to. Promise me, babe, if someone else behaves unkindly to you, you'll tell someone."

She glanced at him, to find his eyes now focused solely on her. His expression was enough of an indication that the question wasn't a rhetorical one. "Quit worrying Joon," She squeezed his hand. "I'd tell you or Eunnie or anyone. Let's focus on getting you all healed up so you can go over the set list once and then we can go back to the hotel."

"Now someone's eager to get me alone," He mischievously wiggled his eyebrows, making heat slam onto Mishil's cheeks. "Oh you're too much," She looked away from him, blushing. "Yeah, whatever baby. You know you like it," He gave her a cheeky smile, earning a soft kiss on his dimples from her.

Her phone was set on the floor beside them, lit up with a text message from Soo-Ah. "Eh, who's that?" Namjoon questioned, the picture on the screen. There were three people. One of them being Mishil herself. She was younger there. "These two are my brothers," Mishil smiled at him. The taller of the two boys stood sideways, his arms wrapped around Mishil while the shorter one had his arms around two of them. Mishil was squished between the both of them, a bright smile on her face.

"It was on my 18th birthday," She reminisced. "You guys are soo adorable," Namjoon pointed out, making her nod. "Do you talk to them?" "I do. Almost every day. They're actually trying to get my parents around so they can rethink the situation. Who knows if they might succeed and my parents might actually come and see you?" "I'd love that," Namjoon nodded, kissing her lightly.

Once the Namjoon was recharged enough, the boys lined up for the final rehearsal and Sora walked Mishil to a secluded room backstage to get to work. "That seems in order," Sora finally closed the file. "Now pray someone doesn't lose another contract or mess something up again," "Yeah that'll mean either they lose their job or you lose your sanity;" "Yah you little-" Mishil quickly escaped the room before Sora could give her an earful. She walked out of the room, in search of some water when-

"Tch look at her," A discreet scoff invaded her ears over the muffled music. "Running around as if she owns the place. Gosh, I hate her!" Mishil froze in her place, listening in. "The only reason she's having her way is because of those pathetic bruises on her hand." It was the same staff along with someone else.

"Why else do you think Namjoon's keeping her around? That bitch's lucky she's Namjoon soulmate. Otherwise, you think Namjoon would've looked twice at her?" Those might be just words but every single one of them pricked Mishil's heart like a tiny needle.

"And the bond she flaunts around, that too is faulty. She's pulling the entire Bangtan down with her neediness. I bet you anything she's faking it,"

Some people don't realize to what extent their words can hurt another person. What damage they can inflict. Words might be simply just words but frankly speaking, it's the best way to comfort someone. And also the best way to break someone.

"It is the bond Eunnie, I'm telling you!" The other girl insisted. "Otherwise, before this tramp came around, Namjoon was all over you," "I wish this ugly tramp would just drop dead. And then I could have Namjoon all to myself again,"

It felt as though a bucket of ice water was downed all over her. Did...did Namjoon have something going on with the staff from earlier? Did she intrude on whatever they had?

"Mishil, what are you doing here?" It was Jimin who broke her out of the trance. "Huh?!" She looked at her, her face pale. "Shit!" One of the two girls hissed, wordlessly slipping out from behind the curtains and disappearing out of sight.

"I was just..." Mishil gulped, swallowing the overflowing tears. "I was just looking for some water. I got lost!" She smiled. "It's not exactly hard you know," Jimin laughed. "Yeah, that's true, most of the time, we're just racing past these corridors. Are you sure you are alright? You look kinda pale,"

"I'm perfectly fine, Jimin." Mishil nodded, internally trying her best to relax her face. She couldn't jump to conclusions, she had to trust him. They had to talk about this before she made any decisions. "Okay then collect Sora Noona. We're heading home."

As they climbed the van, this time driving with Jin, Namjoon, Jimin, Mi-Eun and Jungkook, Mishil took the driver's seat whilst Namjoon rode shotgun and the others behind them.

"Mishil, you look hot while driving," Jimin complimented, making her blush lightly. "Yah hit on your own soulmate. Leave mine alone," Namjoon yelled back, glaring. "Hyung, it's a compliment," "Well keep them to yourself!" Namjoon pouted, taking Mishil's hand that was resting on the transmission. "She's mine,"

Mishil smiled bashfully, feeling his warm fingers holding her own small hands. She loved him too much. But the events of earlier had caused a tiny crack of doubt in her heart. And she prayed that she could fix up that crack soon enough.

So it begins! The build-up for the climax has begun and I can't wait to write the final chapter of this story.

I promised that this update wouldn't be a month later but as you can see, it is. I apologize. My life's an absolute mess and I am in a permanent state of exhaustion 24/7. And I have exams approaching on top of that.

Like life, please! Lemme catch a break, please. Well, with that being said, I'm going to be gone for the entire month of October. So, yes, the next update will be around a month later or earlier; based on my exam schedule and mental health.

I hope you guys liked the update. Thank you TheSassyCupid for the gorgeous banner and cover❤️

Leave some comments as encouragement. The primary reason why this book has slow updates is because of my lack of encouragement towards it. Anyway, that's it for this update. I'll see you at the next one. Till then;

Borahae;

Fay
