Friendship and Bonding

= seventeen =

"You're leaving in an hour?"

You hummed in reply, stuffing your laptop and other stuff hastily into your handbag.

"I still can't believe that my friend got so lucky. Getting to go with BTS on a world tour!"

Ara squeaked through the phone, and for a minute you considered not taking the pains to balance it between your ear and your shoulder if she was going to keep squealing like that.

"I wish Yoongi could've been your soulmate. At least I wouldn't have to be alone on the plane."

You replied, still upset over the thought of being away from her for the next few months.

She snorted, and you grimaced again.

She needs to stop making such annoying noises on the phone.

"Just because my random prophecy turned out to be true doesn't mean yours will.
And am I just worth being your company through the flight?
I never knew you thought this highly of me."

You rolled your eyes at her sarcasm, which she wasn't really good at portraying, finally freeing your hands from the luggage as you took charge of handling your phone, stretching your neck muscles.

"Come on, Ara. You suck at being sarcastic.

And you know you mean the world to me."

She scoffed playfully, and you waited for whatever remark she was going to make.

"Well, I don't think the last sentence of yours holds after you met him."

"You seriously have nothing else to do, huh?" You replied, trying to sound the least affected by her statement.

It's not like that affected you, though.

She chuckled, knowing that you would obviously not like her making that remark.

"Can't I even talk to my best friend before she's ditching me for at least two months to be with her worldwide handsome?"

[A/N: I wish]

You could picture her evil smile as she said those words and you groaned, settling on the couch as you stared at your luggage.

"Shut up, Ara. You're making me feel like I'm the bad guy."

She laughed heartily, enjoying how you were getting annoyed at her teasing you.

"Okay, I'm sorry. But you know I love you."

You smiled to yourself.
"I know you do."

"Hey! You could've at least said that back."

"That back?"
It was your turn to annoy her now, and it was working as she huffed, and you couldn't suppress the giggle that escaped your lips.

"Just kidding! I love you too.

Now will you spare my right ear and let me be upset over having to stay away from my annoying best friend?"

"Shut up. I don't want you to get upset. Ever.

But I like the idea of torturing your ears."

"I wish I could throw a brick at you through the phone right now." You deadpanned, and she chuckled yet again.

"Fine. I'll spare you. But Y/n, don't mind me telling this to you again, okay?"

Your eyebrows creased in confusion, as you waited for her to continue.

"Be careful, Y/n."

You sighed, a bitter smile playing on your lips.

"You've been saying that a lot lately. And I'm trying, Ara. I really am.

But there's gonna be a time when I'll unknowingly stop being careful. You know that.
It's inevitable."

She sighed too, knowing all too well that you were already too engaged to get yourself out of the sea of emotions you were just beginning to experience.

"I know, Y/n. And I'm so sorry for reminding you of it so often. It's just that the way you've been agreeing to everything they ask of you worries me.
I don't want you to forget the strong , independent woman you've always been. I really don't want to see you compromise yourself for something that might end up hurting you in the end."

"I know, Ara. And I really feel so lucky to have you as my best friend.
Don't worry, I'd never change myself for the someone else."

"I really hope you don't, or I'm going to be ready to kick some ass."

Gleeful laughs echoed through the room as the both of you fell about at that.

"Ugh, I hate to say this, but I have to get going now. I wonder how I'm gonna handle that grumpy woman at office without you." Ara remarked once your laughter had subsided.

"It's not like I'm a pro at handling her." You chuckled.

"And don't act like this is the last time we're talking. You will call me if you want to rant about anything, you get that?"

"Aye aye, captain!

I'm gonna miss you, though."

You smiled,

a rather sad smile.

"I'm gonna miss you too.

Now get going, you don't want to bump into into random people on your way to the bus stop if you get late because of me!"

"Yeah, that's the last thing I'd want to happen to me. Call me when you get off the plane!"

She laughed and cut the call, leaving you smiling.

And then you realised that you were actually pretty exhausted.

Of course, what did you expect. You haven't healed with him for more than a day.

You sighed as you felt your limbs aching, hating how the bond was manipulating your body.

"Argh! You cannot be so tired! It's just 8 in the morning!" You scolded yourself, trying to get up.

But with both the exhaustion and your laziness combined, you had to give up.

"Ugh, never mind."

Just as you began considering the thought of ditching Seokjin and staying at home for the sake of your lazy self, your phone buzzed.

Speak of the (handsome) devil.

Jin:

Are you ready?

I'll send someone to pick you up :)

You:
Yeah :)

But do you have to send someone?
I'll be there by myself

Jin:

Really?

Do you even have the energy to pick up your own luggage?

He'll be there in a few :)

You couldn't help but smile at the little smileys he usually sent.

They just make him seem cuter than he already is.

And he was considerate enough to send someone to pick you up because he knew you must be exhausted.

You liked how he had started thinking about you and was now taking you into consideration before making any decision.

But it just ended up giving you hopes that maybe one day, he'd have feelings for you.

And for now, you couldn't hope for that to happen.

You sighed, managing to stand up with the support of your couch, as you lazily walked around, checking if everything was intact.

You were leaving this apartment for a good amount of time, after all.

While you were making sure that the window in your room wouldn't burst open by itself out of loneliness,

the doorbell rang.

Pretty quick.

By now, half of Bighit must be knowing that Kim Seokjin's soulmate lives here.

It better not be a different driver.

You tried to get to the door as fast as possible, despite your legs that had begun to feel like jelly by now.

You were relieved to see the same driver from last night as you opened the door, and he gave you a polite smile, which you returned.

"Good morning, miss! Let me help you with the luggage."

You hesitated, refusing at first, but he insisted because that was what he was there for in the first place.

You stepped aside letting him carry your huge bags outside as you took charge of your handbag.

As he made his way out, you turned around to take one last look at your apartment.

You sighed, finally walking out and locking the door.

"Are we going towards the big buildings this time?" You asked once the both of you had entered the elevator, remembering his poor attempts of hiding your destination the previous evening.

He kept looking forward as he had an apologetic smile on his face.

"I'm sorry for that miss. I was told not to reveal that I was dropping you off at Bighit Entertainment, or you might not agree to go at all."

You nodded understandingly, knowing who exactly would have told him that.

"It's okay. I understand. I'm glad you somehow managed to convince me about those big buildings."

'Sup everyone it's ya homie right here ;)

Don't mind me I'm just going crazy rn
(Not that I'm not already crazy)

I actually had quite soem fun writing this chapter, and I suck at updating, so YeAh

(There might be some typos and words that don't make sense, but since I already told you that I'm crazy)

This story crossed 18k and y'all are really making me think that I'm probably not that bad at writing :)

Thanks for all the love and support! ♡

---

I'm pissed off at YouTube rn cuz they're freezing the views on the MV and we barely crossed 45 million after 24 hours.

And to think we were gonna break our own records.

And no offence, but I think they won't freeze the views when it comes to a BLACKPINK MV. Idk why

(I really hope we get a full album this year, though 😢)

But the official MV was really good if we talk about how they portrayed us and the boys.

It really felt like the Bighit version of Lion King and Maze Runner, though :')

I love how I always have something to rant about whenever I update lol
