Thirteen

A few weeks later, Harry was cleared of all charges and his expulsion was revoked. It seemed that the ministry did this rather reluctantly.

"I can't wait to go back to school," Calliope looked up from a Transfiguration textbook two days from the end of the holidays, at Fred and George who were prodding something with their wands. Calliope had stopped bothering to ask what the twins were doing half the time.

"I think it will be great to get a bit of market research done in our last year," Fred mused, "we can find out what the average Hogwarts student really needs from a joke shop."

"It won't be your last year if you don't read up on what we missed out on last year," said Calliope with an eye roll, "tell him, George!"

"You're asking me to encourage someone to do extra work," George laughed, "oh Callie, you do not know me at all! That's ickle Prefect Ronnie's job." Ron had been given the title of Prefect that year, which came as a shock to almost everyone, as most of them had expected the title to go to Harry, it had even caused a small bit of friction between Harry and Ron, as it seemed that Harry also expected to receive the badge.

"You two are hopeless," Calliope sighed and returned to her book and allowed the twins to continue plotting.

It was quite an ordeal getting all of the occupants of Grimmauld Place to Platform 9 3/4. Molly fussed and stressed about everything, which was only made worse when Sirius decided to join the group in dog form.

Elphias accompanied the group so that he could wish Calliope goodbye at the station. It was quite nice for them to spend some time together on the journey to Kings Cross, as they hadn't seen an awful lot of each other during the holidays and both of them missed the other greatly.

"Now Calliope, enjoy your last year at Hogwarts," Elphias pulled her aside from the main group at the station, he placed his hands on her shoulders, "please try and stay in the castle."

"I will," Calliope promised, "I want to enjoy my last year."

"And be careful what you put in letters, you never know who could be reading them," Elphias continued, "and look after yourself, my dear."

"Grandpa, if there's one thing I can do, it's look after myself," Calliope assured him.

"Well, if you say so," Elphias smiled, he pulled her into a tight hug, "I'm so proud of who you've become Calliope, even if you have done most of your growing up without any help from me."

"What are you talking about? You helped me grow up."

"Sometimes I feel so distant from you," Elphias sighed as they broke apart from their hug, "you're so different from how your father was but so similar in many other ways. But that doesn't mean I love you any less then I love him."

"I love you too Grandpa," Calliope hugged him again.

Elphias laughed, "I know you do my dear, now go and get on the train before you miss it!"
