Fourteen
Calliope made towards the train with Fred and George, the twins were levitating their trunks before them, proudly showing their status as 'of age wizards'. When Fred noticed Calliope struggling with her heavy trunk, he immediately aided her by levitating her trunk also. Before Calliope could thank him, someone grabbed her by the arm and dragged her into an empty train compartment which was several carriages up, meaning Calliope earned several odd looks as she was dragged through the train.
"You have no idea how much I missed you Callie," Natalie said when she sat herself down beside the window, "you have to tell me everything that happened this summer, I bet it was way better than mine. I got in a massive row with my parents, they don't believe that You Know Who is back, despite everything that happened last year. I don't think they really like you, Callie, my mum says that you're just bringing me trouble and that I'd do better to leave you alone, but I obviously told her that it would never happen, I'm not going to ditch you. And I also told them that they were being stupid not to believe you, really I think the reason that no one believes that he's back is because they're scared of what it will mean if he's back, which of course he is, I mean he literally held you prisoner all year, and there's no way that either you or Fred is lying about that because I know you Callie and you're not a liar." Natalie said all of this very fast, meaning that it took Calliope a moment to catch up with everything that had been said, and Natalie seemed to grow impatient to know about Calliope's summer, "so how was your summer?"
"My summer was okay," Calliope said honestly, "you have to promise not to repeat any of this."
Natalie nodded eagerly, "of course."
"I spent the summer at the headquarters of the Order of the Pheonix, the secret anti-Voldemort," Natalie flinched at the use of the name, "movement, I wasn't allowed in any of the meetings, but I overheard quite a lot about-"
The compartment door slid open, and two trunks floated in, settling themselves of the luggage rack beside Natalie's trunk, which was already stowed there. Fred strode in behind the bags and settled himself down beside Calliope. George and a very confused looking Lee Jordan followed behind, also placing their trunks on the rack and taking the empty seats in the compartment.
"How was your summer, Hughes?" George asked Natalie.
"I was just telling Callie about it actually. I had a fight with my parents," Natalie said, she subsequently launched into a very similar monologue to the one she had delivered to Calliope earlier about her summer.
"So all in all, not very good," summed up George after Natalie had finished.
"It could have been better," Natalie shrugged, "at least we're going back to Hogwarts now. Do you promise that you won't go running off and get kidnapped this year Callie?"
Calliope stiffened slightly, but laughed, "I promise Natalie."
"I don't think that this year will be all that great," Lee sighed, "did you see the Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook?"
"Wilbert Slinkheart," nodded Natalie, "I reckon it's some uptight old hag who has no sense of fun."
"That will just mean that we can drive him or her up the wall," grinned George.
"I was thinking the exact same thing," Fred's face displayed an identical grin.
"You can't drive anyone up the walls if you're not in the same class," Calliope said, "I've been warning you all summer if you don't read up on what we missed last year Fred, you'll be held back a year."
Fred wrinkled up his nose, "I'll be fine, I have you!" He patted Calliope's leg, "you won't let me fail will you Clever Girl."
"No," Calliope grumbled.
"Anyway, it's not like we need NEWTs anyway," George said spiritedly, "the only reason that we came back this year was to get some market research done and perfect our skiving snack boxes."
"And to learn," Calliope gave George a pointed look.
"I suppose we may as well learn a bit too," Fred rolled his eyes, "then we're outta here, and never looking back. Weasley Wizard Wheezes will be the hit of Diagon Alley in no time."
"How on earth are you two going to get the money to get premises in Diagon Alley?" Lee asked, raising an eyebrow at his two friends.
"Ask us no questions and we'll tell you no lies," replied George with a wink to Lee.
