Forty-Five

Molly pulled out all of the stops the next morning. When Calliope descended down the stairs it was to see Elphias and Remus.

"Grandpa!" Calliope hurried over to hug the man.

"Calliope," Elphias embraced her with a smile, "you look well!"

"Calliope!" Remus also smiled as Calliope moved along to hug him.

Calliope sat down at the table and helped herself to some bacon and eggs that Molly had set out. Mysteriously Molly was nowhere to be seen.

"So what's this that Molly tells us about you and the twins dropping out of school?" Elphias asked.

"It's exactly that," Calliope responded as she began to cut up her food, "we've left. If I had to stay with Umbridge for one more day I was going to scream in her face."

"Calliope don't joke about that," said Elphias.

"Have you really thought this through?" Remus asked, "Calliope you're sixteen, do you really know what you want?"

"I'm seventeen tomorrow," Calliope pointed out, "and no, I don't know what I want. But Fred does, and he couldn't of left Hogwarts if I didn't come with him. And I don't need NEWTs to define the rest of my life."

Elphias sighed, "so headstrong."

"We're not going to stop you," Remus told Calliope, "as long as you're sure that you're making the right decision for yourself, not just for Fred."

"I'm sure," Calliope replied.

"Your mum is out for blood," Calliope said as she passed the twins on the stairs as she headed upstairs for a shower.

"What?" George asked.

"My Grandpa and Remus our downstairs, Molly must've thought that they could talk me out of leaving Hogwarts."

"Thye couldn't?" George raised an eyebrow.

"George do you think I would've left if I hadn't  already thought it through," Calliope laughed, "so when are we leaving?"

"Whenever you're ready," said Fred.

"Give me half an hour."

"Is cute," commented Calliope as the three stood outside the shop front.

"It's a mess," said Fred.

"It was cheap," shrugged George.

The exterior of the shop was tired with peeling brown paint and a tired sign with gold lettering that read 'Quentin's Robe Fittings'. One of the windows was shattered, and a layer of dust and cobwebs covering the entire exterior.

"I wonder why it was cheap," said Fred sarcastically as he made his way towards the door which he pushed open. It creaked loudly and a large cobweb fell onto George's head.

"It suits you," George laughed.

"What does?" Fred frowned.

"The white hair," grinned George.

"Stop mocking him and help him," Calliope rolled her eyes, standing on her tiptoes to remove the cobwebs from Fred's hair.

They proceeded into the shop. The interior was just as battered as the exterior, there were some old boxes with reject stock from the previous owners of the shop, along with a smell of neglect.

"We should start small," said Fred, gesturing at the smashed window, "Callie will you do the honours of beginning our renovation?"

"Need I remind you Fred that I am still sixteen?" Calliope raised an eyebrow, "until tomorrow all I can do is manual labour for the renovation effort."

"Oh well," Fred shrugged and lifted his wand, "Reparo."
