Ezra didn't think there was a moment where he was more certain he was gonna die.
Sure, there were close calls before. He remembered a time when he was seven, barely a month after capture, when the torture droids came in and the pain was so intense he felt death was coming near.
He remembered when he was ten and had cracked his skull, feeling like he was going insane because it hurt and he wanted to get away from it but he couldn't because he was trapped, trapped in his own body, trapped in his pain, sobbing of the helplessness of it all and the boy honestly thought he was going to die.
The teen remembered when he was twelve and Killiana almost cut off his arm. That was a time to remember.
But standing there weaponless, with fights all around him and his little sister about get sliced in half, Ezra Bridger felt completely helpless. It all seemed impossible, unreal, simply a nightmare or a very bad case of deja vu, when his parents were killed seven years ago...
He barely registered another girl stepping in, a scream of, "ALLY!" escaping his lips, before furry hands herded him back a second before a crimson red blade came down in the spot he was standing.

Kanan cursed as he watched another girl walk into the room, her red lightsaber identifying her as another one of her enemies. The girl looked familiar, but the jedi had no time to question it further, because suddenly Ally was on the ground and Killiana proved that lightsabers could fly, the plasma blade barely missing his head.
"I will not be another one of your pawns."
It took the green-eyed man longer than it should've to realize the attack wasn't directed at him.
The Inquisitor sneered, "Foolish girl. After everything he did to you, you side with this-"
"Oh I'm still mad at him," a pointed glare emphasized the her point, "I'm still thinking about killing him. Just not here. Not now. I have a score to settle with you first, for hurting my family."
"Family?" The pau'an raised a brow, "You, Killiana Stargazer don't have a family. Your parents were taken by the Empire, relieved from terrible burden of taking care of you."
'Wow,' Kanan thought, 'that was a bit harsh.' Then again, it was better than having to dodge a laser sword every two seconds.
"You of all people should know that that old trick won't work on me anymore. I've spent most of my life with the people before me. I won't let you take them away. Not as long as I'm here."
And then, it seemed the conversation reached an end, a the girl lunged at the Inquisititor, and Kanan realized she was much better at fighting the pau'an than he was. She knew his tricks, strengths, and weaknesses, and she did her best to use them to her advantage.
"You showed me the way, showed me what I could be, but I won't follow your path, I won't terrorize children that are in the same position that I once was. I won't be controlled, I won't be a MONSTER!" And Kanan watched, dumbfounded, as the girl disarmed the dark side user in mere minutes, lightsaber pointed at his neck.
"You have no idea what you've unleashed here today," The Inquisititor scowled, "There are some things far more frightening than death."
In an instant, he retrieved his lightsaber, red blade glowing and the jedi watched as it embedded itself into the girls abdomen, the latter's own sword doing the same.
"NO!"
"KILLIANA!"
"PHANTOM A!"
Kanan turned around, focused on protecting the others and getting away from the horrifying scene when a red blade sliced through his vision. Knees buckling, the man's only thought was, 'Seriously? That's the last thing I get to see?!'

"KILLIANA!"
"PHANTOM A!"
"Oi! Quiet you two!" Zeb smacked the two kids on the heads as he held them back from running towards what most certainly would be their death.
The lasat was getting annoyed, having to hold back two bratty kids and fire at the bucketheads at the same time was not what he thought he would be doing. The mission was supposed to be simple, and he had agreed with the plan because he figured they were rescuing adults not children. The battle going on right now was certainly not for one.
Much less nine.
When he saw how old they really were he figured they'd be easy to handle. A good knock on the head and they'd be out cold, easy to carry over their shoulders.
Too bad the Imperials had the same idea.
There were battles raging all around the small hallway, making it hard to move an inch without getting a scratch at least, burned at most.
Or in Kanan's case, blinded.
The fool had the worst luck, turning around the moment the girl, who introduced herself as Dhara, swung her blade.
Zeb, who was struggling to protect the people around him, paused at that moment to think how much Ashla must hate the jedi for doing that to him.
Or how clumsy the man has become.
In front of him, the battle between sister and brother raged on, fatal blow after fatal blow.
And in Zeb's arms, the struggles of brother and sister united and finally became too much.
Ally broke through, running a beeline to Killiana, managing to avoid the fierce battle ahead, but only arrived in front of Vader, who wasted no time in raising his lightsaber.
"ALLY RUN!" Distracted, Ezra wiggled out of the former Honour Guard's hold, running a short distance in front, eyes widening.
And the lasat only had a split second to yank the boy back, covering his eyes from seeing his sister murdered in front of him.
That didn't stop their screams from echoing through.

Nico was having a blast. After all, it's not everyday you get to count how many people died.
First it was, "Hera! The Inquisititor is down!"
Then:
"Uh Hera? This other girl is down too!"
"Which side?"
"Uh well, she was on theirs, then apparently she's on ours, but she said she wanted to kill Kanan so-"
"Nevermind!"
And finally:
"Another girl down!"
"Their side or ours?!"
"Ours!"
"Kriff."
They were losing epically and quickly, allies falling all around them. Hera and Sabine shot bucketheads. Tahara figured out how to push the enemies away without touching them. Nico did a bit of both.
They were just getting the upper hand when when Dhara cut his arm off.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
"MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
His arm, or what was left of it burned, like a million suns were pressed against it. The pain was excruciating, and the boy fell to his knees, gasping in pain.
"Nico!"
Sabine ran towards him, blasting any bucketheads that dared get in her way. Once by his side, she grasped his shoulder.
"Kid? I know it hurts, but you've got to move if you don't want to lose your head as well."
Grunting, the boy stood, running over to where Hera and the others had created a sort barricade against the troopers.
"At least I know where not to run."
