Discoveries of Truth
There's not much action, this is more of a filler chapter but equally important. So... enjoy?

It was during a mission when they received it.
They had been hesitant to answer the transmission, but in the end, the Ghost crew decided it would be best to see what it was.
One by one, everyone gathered in the cockpit, Zeb trudging in last with a box of space waffles.
"We all here?" Sabine asked, looking around.
"Yep. Looks like it."
"Good," the mandolorian replied, "Start the transmission now Chop."
A few beeps later, the holographic figure of Joe appeared.
"This is the Ghost crew right? Of course it is, just making sure. Anyway, I have some news that might interest all of you."

It was nearly night time when Ezra returned from the interrogation, sore and a bit grumpy, but in one piece nonetheless.
"Welp guys, I have great news!" He said sarcastically, "Baldy has now taken away our privileges."
A few groans were heard, as well as a chuckle as Kanan shook his head and asked, "What did you do now?"
Shrugging, the boy replied, "Didn't want to interrogate a prisoner the way an Imperial Agent wanted."
"At least we managed to start the plan," Zare pursed his lips, "You certain he'll pull it off?"
"Positive, I-" Ezra had a small sneezing fit, but continued soon after it was over, "met him when I was a little kid, and let's face it, this face is unique. Recognized me right away."
"Whatever you say Spectre E," Ruby rolled her eyes.
"We should all get some shut eye, hm?" Kanan suggested, "For now, all we can do is hope for the best, no use getting worked up about it now."
Everyone agreed, giving a brief nod before laying down and going to sleep, all except Ezra.
He was always the last to fall asleep, it was a fact that Kanan was quick to learn, unless he was sick or hurt to the degree of exhaustion. The older male was counting on this, in order for his 'mini plan' to work. It was time to ammend some past wrongs.
Of course, he wanted the conversation to be private, so they had to wait a while until the jedi was positive everyone, excluding Ezra and himself, were in a deep sleep before he cautiously sat up.
"You awake kid?"
"What do you think?" Came the soft reply, "And for your information, it looks bad if you give advice, but don't actually do it yourself.
"'Before you practice preaching, practice what you preach,'" Kanan quoted, "or at least I think it goes something like that. I wanted to talk to you first though."
"Fine, shoot. But make it quick."
The older jedi hesitated for a second, how was he going to start this conversation that would no doubt be uncomfortable for both of them?
He said the first thing that came to his mind, "Do you... hate me?"
"Hate you?" Confused blue eyes turned to stare at Kanan, which didn't help soothe his nerves, "Why would I hate you?"
"Because... because of what happened a few years ago and all..."
Immediately, Ezra's eyes hardened, "Listen Cowboy, I'm not saying I forgive you for that, but I definitely don't hate you. Dislike you maybe, but you've shown you have a good heart and besides, we need to work together in order to escape."
Disappointment invaded Kanan like a virus, making him look away. So that was the only reason the boy hadn't stopped talking to him completely, because they had to escape. It wasn't due to the fact that he forgave him, or even noticed his attempted tries to make things right.
Something must've leaked through the jedi's calm expression, because the teen spoke gently, almost like talking to a small child which Kanan wouldn't be suprised if he had experience with that also, "What you did years ago, it really hurt me. Really changed me. I thought that the universe was great as long as you aren't with the Empire but I learned otherwise," Ezra turned to stare at the ceiling, "I guess in a way it's thanks to your crew that I'm here, that I'm able to help Jai and Ally and Ruby and Zare and Killiana even though she fell in the end."
"Ez-"
Sternly, the teen interrupted, "Don't call me that."
Blue eyes dared Kanan to do otherwise, yet the more he stared, the more the man started to realize something.
"You're afraid."
"Am not."
"Kid, it's okay. Everyone's gets afraid from time to-"
"I'm not afraid."
"What are you afraid of? If it's the escape plan then just relax. We've got it cover-"
"Shut up."
"Or is it Baldy? Are you afraid he'll hurt you or any-"
"I said shut up!"
Kanan, refusing to back down, continued, "I won't let him hurt you, of anyone else alright? Calm down."
Squeezing his eyes shut, Ezra spoke in a forced calm voice, " I'm not afraid of him."
"Fine," the boy snapped, "You want to know what I'm afraid of? I'm afraid of you. Happy now?"
*Turquoise eyes widened like saucers before narrowing, "So you don't hate me but you're afraid of me? I've never done anything to-"
He stopped, knowing what he was about to say next was a lie. He left him behind, betrayed his trust, and was now digging into his personal life, expecting to be forgiven. Of course it wouldn't happen, soon at least. Even so, that didn't stop him from trying.
"What do I have to do for you to forgive me?"Kanan asked.
"Nothi- no scratch that. Help us escape, actually escape, and I'll consider it," With that being said, the boy turned his back towards Cowboy, who sighed in return.
"I couldn't go back. I couldn't fight for you even if I tried because I'd fail kid, only making matters worse for you. Some of us wanted to come back, I wanted to come back but I never completed my training and I'm definitely not qualified for train anyone. So I thought I'd be better for you to be here, not involved in the war we're fighting."
"Yeah well it wasn't. But at least I got to be here for them," the boy gestured towards the sleeping forms around them.
"That's the good thing that came out of it. Listen, I don't expect you to forgive me, but know that I didn't just abandon you okay? Just because your parents..." he trailed off.
"Are gone?" Ezra scowled.
"It doesn't me we'll leave you to okay? Won't get away from me that easily."
There was a long silence in which Kanan assumed the boy had gone to sleep, before a voice whispered.
"'No one gets left behind.' That one was made because of you. Make you sure you don't break it, you get us out of here, and I might forgive you. Deal?"
The man smirked, "Deal."

Jho sat at his bar, lazily cleaning his counter when a man came entering in, a datapad in his hands, and asked around for Jho. When the rodian he was speaking to pointed at him, he watched the man rush towards him.
"You're Jho right?"
"Yes. What do you need?"
The man didn't reply, simply shoved the datapad into Jho's suprised hands. Glaring at the him, the ithorian turned the device on and read what was written.
Hey Sumar? This is Ezra Bridger, remember me? I'm being held captive along with 6 other people, and have a plan to get out, but can't do it without you. Give this to Old Man Jho, and tell him his friend Kanan is here too.
Hey Jho? Kanan here. Listen, I need you to find a way to contact our crew. Sumar has this device that we need you to smuggle that to them also. We're going to escape, all of us. Shaking his head, Jho turned towards the man, now identified as Sumar, "We need to get this to the rebels now."

*There's this controversial (not very controversial) issue whether Kanan's eyes are green or blue, and although I initially thought it was blue, I decided to make it Turquoise just to be fair XD
B
OOM!!! NOW YOU KNOW AT LEAST PART OF THE PLAN!!! XD
And as an added bonus, FLUFF.
So... what do you think?
The Ghost crew has received a transmission from Jho saying he had important news. What is that now?!
You know already but... you get the idea XD.
Kanan and Ezra have struck up a deal regarding forgiveness of the past. (OOH that's a good chapter name XD) Will Kanan be able to keep his promise?
Old man Jho has gotten a message from a long lost friend. Will he do as he is told?
Horrible foreshadowing I know but I TRIED!!! And no, I don't truly think I can succeed before any of you say it XD.
