Part 8

Lenna's POV:

I seriously hate my life right now.

Don't get me wrong I'm not suicidal, but it seriously sucks to the point of being suicidal, which is totally an exaggeration, by the way. When one feels suicidal they should call the suicide hotline, I, on the other hand, feel like I need to call the stop-making-dumb-things-happen hotline, and ASAP.

First, Brandon and Luka had to come along and ruin some of my precious 'Sara-and-me-only-time' for the sole purpose of turning it into some sort of a dance proposal.

Don't get me wrong, it's extremely cute and all, but sometimes you just have to hang out with your friends! Or in my case, friend.

Then as soon as people found out due to Jackson's instagram post, the popular girls directly messaged me every almost every second I breathed going on and on about every social media platform known to man until I had eventually ended up blocking the 'leaders' of the groups.

Then I had to 'fit in' and I could literally feel Sara slipping away from me, inch by inch, cell by cell as I forced her to be somebody she was not.

Oh and how could I forget about Jackson showing up? That was, by far, the worst.

Hmmm, nope it was definitely losing Sara, who was, right now at least, boredly twirling a pencil around in her hand, too bored for our biology class. But then again, who can blame her? She's most likely learned this about ten times with that brain of hers.

I seriously don't understand this.

Why did Jackson have to be such a...such a...?

"...an obtuse angle..." Mr. Bilou trails off, and I silently thank him.

Jackson is such an obtuse angle.

"I agree," Sara murmurs, copying down some notes.

I huff, annoyed with myself for not being able to control my words. "Nice Lenna, nice."

"Nice indeed..." Sara continues to scribble something down to make it look like she was doing something, but in fact, she was most likely daydreaming.

Really wish I had studied this earlier, now.

"That's right you should have." Sara chides, opening a pink highlighter. She casually underlines her long list of (unneeded notes, for her at least, I would definitely be borrowing later) as if she had not just insulted me.

Her notes were all neatly organized, but somehow still messy at the same time, a perfect representation of her. An awkward social mess but the most, and I mean the most, organized person to ever exist academically.

Sometimes I truly question all my life choices, especially choosing to take this crazy, insulting weirdo as my best friend.

"Ugh! You're incorrigible!"

"That's why we're friends, isn't it?"

"...incorrigible!"

Eating pizza and cake again?
How unclassy.

I don't see why you should care, it's not

you eating it, is it?

No it's not, you just so
happen to make yourself seem
like a complete and utter
disappointment! Haha!

Just because you're self conscious doesn't

mean you can be rude to everybody.

I'm not being rude! I'm just
telling you what's the cold hard
truth!

Okay, whatever helps you sleep at night.

You fat worthless pig!

I do believe that you're the fat worthless pig.

Whatever Lenna! You can Sara

will get off your high horses eventually,

afterall, who could ever like you!

Brandon does.

Haha, but he's only second to Luka,

which means you're only second to Sara.

Forget about your master Jackson now

did you?

Lenna.06:) has signed off

Lenna how dare you! I'm not even half
way done!

Lenna.06:) has blocked you

Ugh! Fine! Be that way, see if Jackson
and I care!

Sar's POV:

Lenna quickly taps away one last time at her phone before offering me a broken smile.

"More texts?" I huff, becoming extremely annoyed with the texts rapidly.

"Yep," She smugly presses a button and looks across the room, fire in her eyes.

Some kid at Jackson's table glares at her and we fight little baby sparks with fire, burning him down until he hangs his head in defeat.

"I always knew there was something special about you," Two hands cover my eyes and I yelp a bit. "Guess who!"

Of course this would be like those movie scenes where the hot guy-

Did I just call Luka hot?

-covers the nerdy girl's eyes-

I am not nerdy! Shut up brain part 1!

-and then they fall in love.

...We aren't going to fall in love.

Despite telling myself that, I can't help but imagine a future with him, crazy little things like that included. He was, well, is, a great student and would definitely be able to keep up with my intelligence, so our conversations could go on and on. He's an extremely kind person so getting along with him wouldn't be a problem at all, which is quite a relief seeing as I had such rocky relationships with most guys my age. He was similar enough to me so we could bond but different enough to have something to discover about it.

That actually doesn't sound so bad.

Not being able to control my thoughts or emotions, I respond crudely.

"Idiot"! I snap, shoving Luka off of me. I push him to the ground and I hear identical thuds, one from Luka and one from Brandon.

Luka pouts and lifts himself up from the floor, slides next to me, then grins at Brandon who seemed to have had a rougher fall than he did. They both rub their shoulders and lose their signature smirks.

"Tough girls, huh?" Luka asks, to which Brandon nods his head quickly.

"Scary too," He warily eyes Lenna, who is currently stabbing at her cake with her two inch long, neon pink acrylic nails.

How can somebody survive with those! Ugh.

"Well then that's your fault for inviting us to the ball, boys," I jokingly sneer, picking up a large chunk of cake between my fingers, moaning as the rich chocolatey flavour fills my mouth.

"Finally letting go of salads, huh?" Luka whispers in my ear. His hot breath tickles my nerves, causing them to do a send dance happiness that sends blood rushing to my cheeks.

"Yeah, didn't quite like them." I whisper, glancing quickly over at Lenna who's in deep conversation with Brandon.

Luka pulls away from my face and smirks. "Good me neither, I like you for who you are."

I blush and hang my head, trying to read the unfamiliar feeling inside me. "Thanks!" I squeak.

"Any time," He mutters, taking a bite out of my pizza.

"Yeah..." I clear my throat and shake my head before I realize he's eating my pizza.

"Hey!"
