I have always been obsessed with love stories but the first romantic novel which I read was Half Girlfriend by Chethan Bhaghat.

The reason why I decided to read the book was the fact that I heard the news that it is going to be turned into a movie and the heroin was shraddha kapoor. Me being a shraddha fan couldn't resist reading the book. I have read the novel 4 to 5 times and I still enjoy reading it. 

Unlike other movies based on novels Half girlfriend was a movie which didn't upset me at all. Mohit suri as always had captured the emotions of the book perfectly.

With Baarish he showcased this amazing one sided love story and the soundtrack is still loved by millions. And without exactly copying the book he had made his own changes to the love story of Madav and Riya.

Even though the movie deals with consepts not reallated to the love story. Like you are only take seriously if your English was good, the pathetic conditions of rural schools, how society looks upon a girl who is a divorcee and how nothing is impossible if we have faith in yourself, the movie mainly focuses on the unconditional love of Madav for Riya.

Just like the lyrics of the song mein phir bhi tumko cahunga Madavas love is uncoditional. Even though everyone told him to stay away from Riya he didn't listen. He always loved her even though she never confessed her feelings completely. She left him twice once handing him over her wedding card and the second time stating that she was going to die. But none of it readuced Madav's love even a little bit.

Shraddha Kapoor has once again proved she can play any role under the sky and grasp the audience attention without even having much to do in a movie with half girlfriend. She gracefully played the role of silent Riya.

The climax of half girlfriend is one of its highlights apart from all the other mohit suri movies like EK Villain and Aashiqui 2 half girlfriend had a happy ending and made us believe in love once again when after struggling for a long time Madhav finally finds Riya and then when she finally accepts his love its just epic and its also something which we don't expect from a movie which was presented in such a sad way.

I just wanna say half girlfriend is an amazing blend of love, pain, dreams, and with a really important message.
