Defined by Destiny

Today I will be reviewing 'Defined By Destiny,' written by _Chaotic_VariaHolic_ which is a Romantic tale!

Lets begin!

We have a decent cast here regarding the main leads. I personally feel, the supporting characters (Ranbir, Deepika & Parineeti) can be played by a wide array of actors knowing that the roles are simple. I like the names given, but sometimes I felt it didn't feel part of the character which is where we move on to 》•••

Kyra was most definitely my most favourite character. All of the characters have potential to be easily likable, but hadn't been.

Characters need to be able to relate to readers, through emotions, actions and personality to help make them feel like a real human being.

The book focused more on the actions that were being taken than the characters itself as to why they are and their backgrounds or how they are connected to other characters on a emotional or social level.

The writer definitely knows how a romance book should be structured, which is a great plus point. Yet, there is lacking a strong plot which is very important.

Plot will depend on characters and their backgrounds, so not having strong characters or a motive will result in a weak plot.

Easy language has been chosen in which there is a lack of description on the characters itself, expressions, movements and environment.

Emotion is a big part of Romance. If the readers can't feel what a character feels, there will be no connection with the audience.

There is a constant pov change throughout the book, yet their thoughts seem plain and unrealistic.

Writing structure is more diary based and doesn't work for what the book can be. Minor errors of punctuation can be taken care of.

- Depending on character personality, the roles played by Shraddha and Sidharth can have a much more fresh pairing. Perhaps Esha Gupta and Ritesh Deshmukh? Or Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Sanon.

- Character development is really important. Maybe create fact files/Profiles for each character before you begin to write the book? This will expand your ideas for the characters. Taking inspiration from real life characters than what you see on TV or movies is a better idea.

- Structure for the story is perfect, but a plot is definitely needed such as a motive or a goal overall. To help, take examples from real life to help you brainstorm or watch a wide range of Romantic movies. Usually character backgrounds, and their motives make the plot so it's best to work on that.

- For what the book can be, it's best if you stick to just an authors point of view as it surrounds around the life. Unless there are strong feelings the character can only express, it should mostly remain in the same point of view.

- I suggest it's best to paragraph your chapters so it's more organised, clean and best to read. Try to add more description and how a character feels or their surroundings.

- Make sure to connect two chapters together instead of having separate ones, especially if it's the same day or time, unless it's a cliffhanger.

I hope this helped you and the advice and points I have given (purely my opinion) will help develop the book.

Any questions?

If you want your Bollywood book to be reviewed or you think it simply has potential room for improvement, just fill in the form on the previous chapter.

Until next time...
