_____________________________________________________________________________
Later that afternoon I was getting prepared for my wedding. With the proposal now done, John's father insisted that the wedding happen tonight at sundown and everyone in the kingdom of Agrabah was welcome to witness the wedding of the century.
A few of Roger's handmaidens were helping me with the adjustments of my dress. It was a beautiful white dress with golden flower patterns from top to bottom. The handmaidens helped me with my hair and did my makeup as Freddie said.
"You finally did it, you got the Prince of your dreams. I'll admit I was worried about it for a second especially after that whole—jam debacle but you really pulled yourself through."
"I did didn't I?" I said solemnly as I looked at myself in the mirror. I went quiet after that. Freddie looked at me curiously before saying.
"Ladies, do you mind if my Princess and I speak in private? You all have done a very lovely job. Go have yourselves a break. Thank you my darlings." Roger's handmaidens soon left the room which left Freddie and I alone, except for Abu and Carpet. "Do you want to tell me what's going on in that pretty head of yours?" Freddie asked as his genie form came back.
I walked towards the balcony and looked out over the city of Agrabah and said.
"My whole life will change after tonight."
"Indeed it will. But you'll be great, especially after you tell Deacy the truth."
"Actually—" I trailed off.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't like where this is going dear. Whatever it is your thinking forget it!" Freddie warned me as he came up to me.
"Come on Freddie you said it yourself! People see what they want to see! (Y/n) is dead. I'm just Princess Ali. If I told John the truth he'd—he'd never forgive me. I'd lose him forever. And......and people like me never get a chance to marry someone who loves you for you."
"You're contradicting yourself darling. Because you're not really you. You're pretending to be someone you're not."
"Which.....leads me to my other thought. I know I promised to use my 3rd wish to set you free but—Freddie I can't do this without you. I can't set you free." Freddie looked at me with a stoic glace before saying.
"So you're—never going to tell John the truth?"
"You wouldn't get it." I snapped as I turned and walked away from him back into my bedroom. "People like me don't get what they want except by pretending. Would you have me back out on the streets stealing to survive?! No. All you ever cared about was your freedom."
"Darling I could give a shit about that now. What I'm concerned about is you. What's happening to you." he poofed right in front of me. He took my left hand and looked down at my engagement ring stroking the diamond as he said, "You'd rather lie to someone you love, than to give all of this up."
I took my hand back and turned away from him. He floated back in front of me and lifted my chin up.
"Now it's you whose not getting it. Darling the more you gain by pretending, the more you're going to lose. And the more it's going to hurt. In 10,000 years I have never, not once, ever called a Master 'Friend'. I broke the rules for you, I saved your life. And for what? You're breaking my heart darling. You're literally breaking my heart."
He then flew back into his lamp. I glared at it before picking it up and threw it into my bag before quickly sneaking out of the palace.
With Abu on my shoulder as we walked through the streets of Agrabah back towards our home I muttered.
"Who does he think he is? He's supposed to be serving me. I shouldn't be talked to like that! No one gets it." Abu chattered as we walked through some hanging sheets. That's when I felt someone shove themselves against my shoulder before quickly walking away.
I was spun around for a bit due to the force but as I called out the person, or whoever it was, was gone. I shook my head and trudged onward back to my little home.
*3rd Person POV*
The cloaked figure continued to walk through the streets till he finally turned a corner where an archway stood. Soon coming out of his long sleeves was the lamp and when the person removed their hood, there stood Paul Prenter.
Thanks to his thievery skills, he managed to swipe the keys from the guards just as he got locked up in the dungeons. Then waiting for the word from Iago (who he had told to spy on (Y/n). Once he had gotten the word that she was out of the palace, he made his move.
He rubbed the lamp and soon it glowed and in a puff of smoke, Freddie came back up only to hit his head.
"OW! BITCH WHY WOULD YOU RUB THE LAMP UNDER THE.....Archway?" When Freddie saw that it wasn't (Y/n) who rubbed the lamp, but Paul Prenter, his face quickly went from anger to horror.
After all his years of searching, Paul's eyes widened with obsession and power as he let out a crazed laugh. He was finally ready to get his revenge against the English kings as well as their sons.
*My POV*
I sat there along my own balcony fiddling with my left ring finger staring down at the beautiful ring. My heart and mind going up against each other. I looked back towards the palace and sighed heavily.
"He's right." Abu looked up at me from his bed. He came up towards me and hopped up into my lap. "Freddie's right. I—I've got to tell John the truth. Even if it means I'll lose him. That—is the right thing to do for someone you love, right?" Abu softly chattered and stood up on his hind legs and touched his hand to my face, catching a tear that had slipped down.
I hugged Abu and I felt his arms wrap around me as he nuzzled his head against my jawline.
*John's POV*
The sun was just about to set and the wedding would soon begin. The palace was already decorated and people were arriving in from the city. But one person was missing. The bride.
As I stood there in the throne room with Brian and Roger at my side I said to them.
"Where could she have gone to?" I asked worriedly.
"Maybe she snuck off to have a drink?" Roger suggested.
"Be serious here Rog!" Brian scolded. "Maybe she went to go get some jams?" I glared at him.
"You really have to bring that up? You're even worse than me Brian."
"Maybe having the wedding so sudden spooked her. God I knew I should've spoken to my father about this. Maybe she's run off. Maybe she doesn't love me. What if—" so many worries and fears were going through my mind. I felt a nuzzle at my side and I looked down to see Nala looking up at me with those hypnotizing yellow eyes of hers that actually spoke of pure softness and love.
"Nala's got the right idea there mate." Roger said as he came up and stroked her head. "Listen; out of every girl in the world we've been forced to meet. Never have I once seen, a woman who has tried so hard to win your heart than Ali has. She didn't see your title, your family or throne as something they could use. She saw only you."
"As much nonsense Roger can speak in a single day, he does have a point here." Brian said as he stood by his side in front of me. "We'll find her Deacy. It's gonna be alright. She may just have gotten lost out in the city."
"Have you found her yet?" my father's voice soon spoke up. We looked ahead to see that our father's were standing before Hakim, our leading head of security.
"Not yet your majesties. But I have my men scouring the city as we speak." Hakim answered.
"Well keep looking. Leave no basket unturned, no cart standing. Let everyone open their doors until we find Princess Ali." Uncle Michael said.
Suddenly the doors opened. There a figure stood cloaked and their face hidden from us.
"Ali?" I spoke up. The figure removed their hood but to our disbelief it was Paul Prenter that stood there. Simba, Nala and Lulu snarled lowly as Roger spoke up.
"This is a private wedding Prenter! So do us a favor and fuck off back to the dungeons! I'll deal with your execution myself afterwards!"
"Roger!" Uncle Michael snapped at him.
"Paul Prenter. How did you escape the dungeons?" father asked.
"That is unimportant. What is important is your upcoming downfall." Paul answered.
"What?" Uncle Harold spoke up in disbelief.
"I've endured your spineless incompetence long enough. The thrones of England belong to me now." His parrot Iago soon came flying down onto his shoulder cackling softly.
"Good luck with that Prenter. Hakim!" Roger called out.
"Blonde-headed fool." Iago mocked out as Paul soon took something out from his sleeve. It looked like some kind of oil lamp but what was odd was that Paul began to rub it.
Soon blue smoke blew out from the tip and soon a giant blue figure stood over every single one of us. What was shocking to Brian, Roger, Jim and myself was that this blue giant looked exactly like Freddie, Ali's royal advisor. When I saw the gauntlet's on his wrists I began to realize something.
Freddie wasn't even human, he was a genie. I had read about these creatures from old stories my mum used to tell me but—never did I think they were real.
"Freddie! For my first wish, I wish to become the one true King of England!" Paul proclaimed out loud for all of us to hear.
"As you wish, my master."
"No." I shook my head pleading softly but it was too late. As Freddie began to wave his arms around, magic surrounded the air and soon my father and uncles as well as Paul began to rise up. Freddie let out a powerful yell as a strong force of wind blew outward and a powerful blast of magic shot out from the palace.
Then next thing anyone of us saw was my father and uncles now on their hands and knees in nothing but rags while Prenter stood there with a sign of each of the English King's royal clothing. In his hand he held uncle Michael's staff, he bore my father's crown and around his neck was uncle Harold's signature medallion necklace.
The rightful jewel of the king of England.
After that was said and done, Freddie got sucked back into the lamp and I could hear Nala and Simba lowly growl as Iago said.
"This could be fun."
"Hakim." My father spoke solemnly.
"Hakim!" Paul cried out. "You obey only the English King. Which means you obey me now." Hakim looked at us. "You know the law." His eyes full of regret as he slowly turned his head towards Paul.
"No." I shook my head.
"Hail to the king!" Hakim bowed.
"HAIL TO THE KING!!!" The rest of the guards soon followed as they bowed their heads or raised their swords.
"Hakim. March an army to invade this country. Kill anyone who refuses to follow us."
"You can't do that Paul! We are beyond......" I spoke up but Paul shouted at me.
"I think it's time you did what you are best known for Prince John! Silence! Guards! Remove him!" soon all hell broke loose.
As soon as Paul's guards came towards me, Nala and Simba went on the offensive and started roaring and swatting at anyone who tried to come close to us. Roger, Brian, Jim, my uncles and father all tried to stop the guards held onto them.
"Control those cats if you know what's good for you!" Paul hissed at me. I glared at him before turning down to the two big cats and called out to them.
"Nala! Nala! Simba! Steady." They let out one more roar before turning to look up at me. "It's alright." I assured them. Even though they didn't want to, both lions backed down and stood by both Roger and Brian's side. Two guards then gripped my arms tightly.
"Don't hurt him!" my father cried out.
"Papa." I warned him with a look. His desperate eyes shining with fear and worry for my safety. I nodded to him and with my head held high, I followed the guards out of the throne room.
All the while buzzing through my head were all the taunts I have heard from Paul Prenter or anyone throughout the years.
Stay silent!
Best for you to be seen and not heard.
The Prince of silence.
You're known for your quiet behavior. Let's keep it that way when you meet the Princesses.
All my life ever since my mother died I rarely have anything to say unless I really need to speak my mind.
https://youtu.be/J8CVHdMvv30
Written in stone
Every rule, every word
Centuries old and unbending
Stay in your place
Better seen and not heard
But now that story is ending
'Cause I
I cannot start to crumble
So come on and try
Try to shut me and cut me down
I won't be silenced
You can't keep me quiet
Won't tremble when you try it
All I know is I won't go speechless
Speechless
Let the storm in
I cannot be broken
No, I won't live unspoken
'Cause I know that I won't go speechless
Try to lock me in this cage
I won't just lay down and die
I will take these broken wings
And watch me burn across the sky
And it echoes saying–
I won't be silenced
No you will not see me tremble when you try it
All I know is I won't go speechless
Speechless
'Cause I'll breathe
When they try to suffocate me
Don't you underestimate me
'Cause I know that I won't go speechless
All I know is I won't go speechless
Speechless
At this point my mind was exploding with a million thoughts. Paul may have the crown, he may wear the royal robes and he can try what he may do to me. Torture me, bind me, imprison me, hell even kill me but I refuse to stay silent before him any longer. This time he was gonna know that the youngest English Prince had a voice louder than thunder.
"Hakim! HAKIM!" I stopped and turned back around from the staircase of the courtyard that stood before the palace entrance. Just before the doors shut, everyone turned towards me. Paul who now stood before the thrones proclaimed.
"Take him away!" I stood my ground as the two guards who once held me just stood there confused and in awe. "Tell them Hakim!" our leading soldier and guard held his hand up interrupting Paul. He then pointed to each of the guards by my side telling them silently to move away from me.
I walked down the steps and back inside the palace as I spoke to the Arabian man.
"Brian, Roger and I were just boys when our fathers first brought you from these shores. Instead of being put as a slave like our ancestors have done before, you were chosen to be the leading command of our armies. And you have risen up to be the greatest soldier than any English man in history. But now you have to make a choice. Duty isn't always honor, our greatest challenge isn't standing up to our enemies. But defying those whose approval we seek the most. Paul Prenter is not worthy of your admiration nor your sacrifice."
"I wish nothing but glory for my kingdom." Paul sneered as he sat there on my father's throne with pride.
"No. You seek honor and glory for yourself. And you would win it, with the spilling of innocent people's blood!" I snarled lowly at him before snapping like a dog with rabies.
I glared at Paul with pure hatred before turning back to Hakim and walked towards him. I spoke to him with a gentle but strong tone.
"Hakim. Our soldiers will follow you to the death, but it's up to you. Will you stand idly by in silence while Paul runs your homeland to the ground? Or will you do what is right? And stand with the people of Agrabah?"
Silence rang through the throne room as I stood face to face with Hakim. His eyes stared at me almost emotionless before he finally fell to his knees and bowed.
"Forgive me.....my Prince." I placed his hands on his shoulders and helped him stand up. I gently squeezed his shoulder and nodded at him, telling him that there was nothing to forgive. After sucking his tears back in, he turned towards Paul and proclaimed, "Guards! Arrest Paul Prenter!"
The soldiers withdrew their weapons as Simba and Nala let out a loud roar. Iago flew around Paul proclaiming.
"Rub the lamp! Rub the lamp!"
"So....not even the title of King will awake the herd from their sleep? If you will not bow before your king, then you will cower before a sorcerer!" he rubbed the lamp and soon Freddie came back out as Paul proclaimed to him, "Freddie! My second wish. I wish to be the most powerful sorcerer in the world!"
"Your wish is my command, my master." Once again with a wave of his arms, magic filled the room and this time Paul's kingly robes changed into that of a sorcerer's attire.
A long black and red robe, my father's crown faded away into a crown of thorns and branches, and soon a cobra came slithering into the room before slowly rising up and opening it's mouth. The cobra then turned to pure gold as it now became his new snake staff.
"If only we could get that lamp away from him." I heard Roger whisper to Brian.
"Yes but how?"
"Hakim. I had such high hopes for you. But if what John says is true and that these men will follow you, then they shall follow you into the dungeons." With a slam of his staff, Hakim soon disappeared into the floor. Along with all the other guards, except for Paul's.
Finally having enough, Nala let out a roar and she and Simba began to charge at Paul.
"You have been a pain in my arse since the beginning. Time to turn back the clock on you and your brother!" He then fired a shot at Nala who stopped midair of her pounce before her body began to morph and change back into a cub.
She landed with a thud back on the ground and shook her head. Simba shortly followed her as he too was now back to being a cub. Nala growled and let out a squeak of a roar.
"You son of a bitch I'll kill you for this!" Roger snapped as five of Paul's guards had to come in and hold him back.
"I'm really going to enjoy torturing you Roger Taylor. For years you've always belittling me. Planning for the day you would kill me. Oh yes I have eyes and ears everywhere."
"In a way I'm glad you could hear it." Roger sneered. Paul smirked snidely then slowly stepped down from the stairs of the throne as he said.
"Arrogance, quick temper, stubbornness, and hot-headed. How your future wife will put up with you I'll never know but may god rest her soul. But it's time you showed some respect to your King. Kneel."
"I'd rather be thrown over the bloody cliffside than bow to a snake like you!" Rog hissed lowly.
"I could arrange that. But first I want to see you publicly humiliated as you bow before me." He then raised his hand up and suddenly Roger's arm shot up and twisted to the right.
Roger cried in pain as his arm then extended outward to his left. His feet forced to move.
"What's.....what's happening to me?"
"You're my little puppet Roger Taylor. Thanks to my newly gifted powers I can now reach deep within a person's body and control them. It's impossible for you to fight your way out of my grip."
"Let him go Paul!" uncle Michael snapped.
"Not until I've had my fun." He then began to move his hand around which forced Roger to be dragged across the room before stopping right in the middle, his arms extended fully behind him.
All the while his grunts and cries of agony and pain echoed through the room. He forced Roger's body to either extend upwards or bend over until finally he forced Roger on his knees, having him bow before him.
Roger tried with all his might to try and stand up but Paul kept forcing him back down.
"PAUL PRENTER!!!" a female voice cried out. Soon coming flying in on the magic carpet was Ali.
*My POV*
After seeing the first magic force explode from the palace and Freddie's yells, I quickly looked at my bag to see that the lamp was gone. I knew then that the person who had bumped into me on the streets through all those blankets and sheets had to be Paul.
Quickly Abu and I raced back towards the palace and that's when Carpet came on sight and he began miming out what all has been happening at the palace. I told Carpet to get us to the palace as quickly as possible. Abu and I hopped on top of him and he soon took off flying for the palace.
When we got there, to my horror Paul was somehow controlling Roger forcing him to move his body against his will before forcing him to bow down before him. I exclaimed his name as Carpet flew past the doors and we landed just a few feet away from Roger.
"Princess Ali. How quaint of you to finally arrive. So sorry about ruining the wedding." He snide out.
"Release him now!" Paul shrugged nonchalantly and lifted his index finger from this thumb which allowed Roger to finally collapse onto his side panting. I quickly went over to him as did John and Brian.
The three of us helped him up and I asked him.
"You alright?"
"Eventually. God and I thought falling off my horse when I was 15 hurt like a bitch."
"In Roger talk that means he'll survive." Brian said to me. I nodded before turning to John and he turned to me.
"I'm—sorry for running out like that."
"It's alright."
"Actually it's not. You see—"
"Well, well. It would seem the time has finally come for the truth to be revealed. How about I give you a little help, Princess?" he hissed the last part as he raised his hand and twisted it.
Suddenly I felt something controlling my body as I was forced to stand before Paul.
"ALI!!!" John cried out. I soon stood nose to nose with Paul Prenter and he whispered.
"You're doing the right thing. But know after this he'll hate you forever." His hand twisted again as I was suddenly turning towards him. Then with a slam of his staff, my wedding dress as well as the magic Freddie gave me to be Princess Ali faded away.
I was once again in my rags as my true self.
"You see your majesties. There was never a Princess Ali of Ababwa. Just a lowly peasant girl named (Y/n) (L/n). She lied to all of you." the royal family looked at me horrified and shocked, but it was John's face that broke my heart.
His eyes were filled with betrayal and heartbreak. He kept his eyes on me as he whispered my real name.
"I'm sorry John. I'm sorry to all of you."
"Women. Always thinking only of themselves in order to impress a man. A cold-hearted ice woman who only thought about her own selfish needs before the man she thought she loved. Which makes more sense for me as I—banish you to the ends of the Earth." I heard the slam of his staff once more and as John reached out for me, all I saw was a whirlwind of white.
When I woke up all I felt was coldness. I opened my eyes and saw nothing but white surrounding me. Already my body was beyond cold and I was all alone.
"No......no!" I stood up and looked around and saw nothing in sight but snow, mountains in the distance and hearing the sound of the harsh winds blowing across me. "JOHN! FREDDIE! ROGER! BRIAN! ABU!!!"
*John's POV*
All that was left of her was the snow that surrounded her but that soon melted away into the carpet. I couldn't believe this. So it really was (Y/n) all this time. She pretended to be a Princess, she really was the girl who helped Roger and I out when we first arrived to Agrabah.
"Now that she's taken care of. Back to the real business at hand." I slowly rose my head up and glared at him. Never did I wish to throttle someone so much. How could Paul speak so nonchalantly of every action he's done? "I could just kill you all but that would take away the fun out of it. Plus all these years of humiliation. 'Remember your place Paul'. 'You forget yourself Paul'." He mocked the words of our fathers'.
"Paul." My father slowly spoke.
"No! What you old farts need is to suffer. As I have." He slammed his staff to the ground and suddenly our fathers fell to their knees and it was almost like something was squeezing them as their faces went blue and their veins were popping out.
"Dad!"
"Father!" Brian, Roger and I exclaimed as we each stood by our dads.
"Which shall it be? Will ruling your kingdom be enough to destroy you three?"
"Stop it!" Brian hissed.
"Or watching as my armies devour each one of your toothless allies starting with your wives homelands?"
"Damnit Prenter release our fathers now!" Roger exclaimed.
"No. What I will do is take away the things you three most, and kill each of your sons one. By. One."
"No please don't kill them....." Jim spoke out before he was silenced and much like our father's forced to his knees as he too was forced into the 'choke-hold' that our fathers were experiencing.
"No Jim." Freddie reached out.
"YOU OBEY ME NOW!! HE MEANS NOTHING TO YOU ANYMORE!!!" Prenter yelled at Freddie as spit came out of his mouth from pure rage.
Freddie submitted but looked towards Jim, eyes full of regret and heartbreak.
"You will......not.....take...our.....sons away." Uncle Harold weakly spoke up.
"I've done it once before, I can surely do it again." What? Wait he didn't mean—no. He—he was the one responsible for our mothers' deaths. Damn him! He already took my mother from me, I won't allow him to take my father or brothers too.
"JUST TAKE MINE!!" I proclaimed as I stood up. Paul's eyes shifted towards me.
"Just yours? What's the fun in just one of your lives?"
"My life is worth 10 English kings. If you release them now, you can kill me. But you have to swear to me you won't kill anyone else after me."
"Deacy what are you doing?" Brian asked me.
"Are you joking John don't do it! You're throwing your life away!" Roger stated.
Paul and I kept our eyes locked with each other in a stare down. My chest heaved with anger as I lowly snarled.
"Take my life. Spare them." He kept his ice cold eyes on me before slamming his staff to the ground and that's when we heard the relieved breathing of my father, uncles and Jim.
"So let it be written, so let it be done. John Richard Deacon. By dawn tomorrow I sentence you to death by Crucifixion. Guards, take him away!" I was then led away with my family calling out to me.
As night fell I was put into an isolation cell in the deepest parts of the dungeon chained by both my wrists, ankles and even my neck. I was not given a drop of water or scrap of food.
At this point I didn't care anymore. But my only thought in my head was of (Y/n). If she was still alive, but I doubt she was, maybe she's with my mother and aunts in Heaven and by dawn tomorrow I'll be reunited with them.
I then saw a cup being levitated in front of me. I looked at it and saw that it was filled with water. The cup had blue magic surrounding it. I looked further up and saw Freddie in the disguise he had.
"I—thought you'd be thirsty darling." I looked down at the cup and opened my mouth and Freddie used his magic to dip the cup forward and I was given my first drink of water in hours. After I had my fill, the cup vanished and water dripped from my chin and mouth.
"Wouldn't your master be angry if he saw you with me?"
"Then he's thankful this isn't the real me. I made a clone of myself to come down and see you and your friends. I'll spare you the details of what's going on in the master suite."
"Yes thank you for that." I bluntly stated. I turned away from him and that's when he said.
"She really does love you Deacy dear. She only pretended to be a Princess cause she knew you couldn't be together cause of the law. She loved you from the moment you two met. Went on and on about how handsome you were. And I'll say I agree to that."
"Hate to tell you but I'm not into guys." I spoke to him.
"I know, besides you're not my type anyway." Freddie teased. I softly grinned and scoffed. "I will say—you're an honorable man Deacy dear. Sacrificing yourself for your family. I've never once met a human willing to do that." I remained quiet.
I knew there was just a few more hours till dawn and then I would soon be joining my mother and aunts on the other side.
"I get it. I'll leave you alone now dear. But just—remember what I said about (Y/n). She might be a goofy, shy, and go back on her word but—she really does care for those she loves. And you're one of them." As he walked away I finally spoke to him.
"Is there no way to get you away from Paul?"
"So long as he holds the lamp he is my Master. And he's told me that he'll never use his 3rd wish just so he can keep me bound to him. I may serve him but that doesn't mean I agree with anything he says or does. Trust me I've seen men just like him one too many times. Well.....that's all I really came down here to tell you Deacy dear. Be strong come the dawn darling."
With that his illusion disappeared.
I looked up at the ceiling where the moon's rays shined down halfway the wall. I closed my eyes and a single tear fell down my face.
